- to anyone curious. You need to build extra houses to get more population. your houses should be big enough to have a plus sign. that will allow you to have your peasant-built things like farms or leader treatment on it.
- the effectiveness of the army was tiredness, by default your soldiers are assigned to run tiring themselves before battle happens. just remove running once you are close.
- the market grows by itself depending on available goods. make sure it has room for future vendors.
- killing bandits gives you wealth and reputation/influence. reputation is spent obtaining new territories. but the army is composed of your labor force.
- each territory developed independently from each other. so use your development points carefully.
- try to have one area for the church, market tavern, and all houses around it.
- have fun.

There's something about small indie games that breeds creativity and innovation. Maybe it's having a small tightknit team or more creative freedom. But that something is lost when they become bigger and mainstream.

The game really opens up with multiple locations built on the map, took on the final battle with 5 stacked retinues and over 100 spearman and 2 archer militia. Was awesome. The replay-ability will come in the future with the ai town building and more in depth skirmishes etc. Hopefully he will add a scenario with multiple lords.

the scale is pretty much relevant to what was medieval truly about ;-) Americans are not dived into the history so much (lot of people are affected by fantasy movie scales or hollywod brown medieval scale filter)
, but on a basic mannor fields, it was pretty rare to build an army larger by 100 mens by one local lord ;-) The game is pretty balanced in the scale of city building and military numbers even by using a militia ;-)nut only by fully trained mercenaries (which was an essential source of any army in the history of medieval era - especial later ones) ---- this is pretty much a simulation with prety lot of details
The name of the village is funny. The town next to my own in Bavaria is called Eichenau. It's a german name obviously. Eichenau trabslates to a place where oakes grow near a river or a lake.
Nice to see a good RTS game. They've been rare these days so hopefully the success of this one brings more good stuff in the future.

Good to see you guys give manorlord some attention. In my experience itâs a very complex, hard to learn but rewarding game. Obviously most of the devs attention went into crafting the actual game so Iâm sure quality of life improvements like tutorials and new maps will come later. Still this game has so much potential. First game Iâve been super excited for in a while.
ive pretty much made a way around every bug except the baron buying all mercs if you get stuck just ask... mny town is over 600 pop and over 3k days old lol
You must build houses at the start and get some different food(berries/hunt) then you get more people if approval over 50%. Once you get more buildings they look a bit too similar, I hope future versions add building txt labels or highlight similar buildings if you hover over the build icon. I found it hard to locate houses at the start, and there should be a better building unlock tree as you progress. This game looks promising with improvement.
I really like base building focused RTS games since you can make a clean and orderly town. I enjoy tradition RTS's like StarCraft, but you have to use your building to block ramps or hide buildings from your opponent, and you have a messy looking base.
I'm waiting for the new ajs news episode covering the whole sony mess for helldivers... want to know your opinion on the review bombing!
I still havent managed to get an army. Somehow always some thing is missing until I'm overrun by bandits.
This game proves once and for all that AAA devs have way too many cooks in the kitchen. Weâd be better off with 50, 20 person teams than 1, 1000 person team. Much larger number of better quality games.

I normally build six houses first so I donât get plagued by the homelessness epidemic and have room to attract a sixth family as soon as possible

if you rack up a lot of money by raiding the bandit camps then you can hire mercenary's to fight your wars instead of having to wait for your militia to be at scale and fully equipped.
The only criticism is that after some size, the micro management of what each house is doing could be very painful.
Would be nice adding a panel summarizing what all are doing

Is it better than Banished? Banished was also made by one guy, but after like 30-40 hrs it got, well - not boring, just repetitive. The same animals, the same crops. It was pretty limited in my opinion.

it took me 3 cities and research to undersstand how to play this game even do it was my first game in this building style game a good beginning tutorial would be nice lol
The game is good mechanic wise, they just need to balance and then continue building upon it..
Just a couple of things that don't work properly in the game or are unbalanced and then the combat could use some tweaks while also adding more later game stuff.

Yeah it's definitely an early access game. Still needs a lot of work. Looks great, gameplay is there. But there's not much to do other than buy food off the market.

I love the game but I have a lot of crashes and freezes. It's not due to my hardware. Even had a BSOD happen the first time I ran the game.

ALL AAA games are early access though - when was the last time one dropped that was 'done'? I don't know but it was a long time ago. Nothing wrong with early access, at least they are being honest.
Even those who are considered as complete when releasing aren't really either.
I purchased this game just because i heard it's story and i want to support developers that actually worth it. Even though i rarely play these sort of games it reminded me a little bit of stronghold back in the day, played it a couple of days it was fun but it still needs work, i will be back when it has more stuff to do.

It was NOT made by one guy. Plenty of other people made stuff for him. Characters animations etc etc. Saying this game was done by one guy is quite missleading. Just check the credits! THat beying said - I still love the game :)
