So at the end of the year Randy should do a top 10 best buys of 2021.
That is a great idea! Historically, "top" anything videos do great. I would not be suprised if he is already cooking one up lol.
100% sure that black Range Rover is top 10
I'd drive it down to aar put it on the lift and make sure there isn't any hidden damage under the vehicle but the scion xb are very good vehicles love the content man!
It is a salvage title. Probably totaled over the hail damage though.
With the body panels being a different shade of color If it was me I would be checking the underside for either replaced parts but if it has a salvage title or not a salvage title dosent effect how a vehicle runs or dives if the damage was replaced by the owner and not the insurance company
I’ve been driving one of these for 11 years. It still drives great. 216k same as yours. Car runs perfectly. I’ve spent $200 in repairs since 2010 beyond maintenance. Can pull small loads too. Might be a good keeper to do running around in. Mine uses some oil and I’m gonna replace the motor soon so I bought a whole car with 79k that a tree fell on. Drove it home 400 miles. Drove perfectly.
I'm a huge fan of the VVT-I Engine. I have this set up in my Vibe. I did a transmission flush on it and it made all the difference. Made the car run like new, which is how it runs now with 230,000 on the clock. The trans pan has a drain bolt so no taking off pan, empty the 4 quarts from pan. Then replace the 4 quarts. Take trans line going into cooler on radiator off and stick it in bucket. Run the car and let the old fluid pump out. At some point put some fluid in so it doesn't run dry. When the new fluid comes out. . . .put hose back on cooler and top off. It takes around 9 quarts of fluid (4 in pan and 7.2 in torque converter) so it costs around $80.00 to $100 dollars total but its as fast as an oil change and makes all the difference when the car has over 200,000 miles on it.
Toyota are known for the paint failing into different colors on different materials especially their plastic
You are correct. My Blue Camry when I bought it at a used cars Dealership full cash, the paint was in rough condition on the Rear Right passenger side. You could see the metal, it was starting to rust I had to repaint the whole car. There was dings on the doors too and small dents. It looks a lot better but the person who painted my car, left spec dust in the paint and orange peels in certain areas. It needs to be wet sanded and buff.
I would take a bet that the “off-color” panels and doors were replaced as the result of the hail damage.
No man maybe they did replace the doors then didnt blend the paint like buff it and if you notice the bumper looks like a cheap chinese one cause also no emblim
they made a Black XB and a cranbury color XB. So the panels just have been changed out.End of the day it is a Toyota.
That Scion looks great, even with the hood, fender, and both doors in a different color. I would love to see you get in the Japanese cars, maybe also in Hyundai and other brands of small cars. This is what I would do to the Scion.
1) Windshield
2) Maaco
3) Rims and bigger rims and wheels (not a lot though)
4) Tinted Glass (Sealed, lol)
5) Interior Cleaning, but I mean serius cleaning
6) Sell for a GREAT profit
That car seems that it had a really good life, and still runs like a kitten,
Great video though! Love yo see more!
That things been beat down even after a half repaint.
He can't resell them retail the only problem.
Nope.
Being a several time Scion owner, I will opine that $2450 is probably a good retail value for that car as is.
If you run it back through the auction, you'll lose money.
I still like the idea of fixing it up as a Christmas giveaway! 👍
They use them as a Taxi in the Northeast.
@@outkast40 That's a good choice. Inexpensive, economical, reliable, roomy, comfortable.
@@armedinbama I own one 😀
@@outkast40 I own two, a 2006 xB Release 4.0 and a 2004 Echo sedan and previously owned a 2000 Echo coupe. Fun little cars to drive spiritedly!
@@armedinbama oh yeah
Those XB's ride like a dream, plenty of room and smooth!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@thunderroad7289 what’s so funny ?
ONE OF THE BEST CAR YOU HAVE BOUGHT SO FAR!👍👍👍👍
Randy a perfect A to B commuter car or Delivery vehicle as long as it runs good you do sound like a sales man your telling us what you're observing while driving Yes Bring it to your shop give it a good check up
Yes ! AAR headquarters! Put on the lift and check it out! If no damage, new fender, paint job at Maaco, new tires and a great cleaning! Sell for a huge profit
I had a Scion XB.2011 that was recently totaled in a car accident. It was a very safe car an I had 335000 miles I’m it and still ran great with low maintenance. You just had to do major maintenance at. 150,000 and 300,000 which usually cost 1200 dollars. It was a reliable car and I could have driven it for another 100,000 plus miles. My insurance valve the car at 6500 dollars.
This had me laughing hard. Very original. I’m buying one of these xB 5MT in a few day for $4000 in good shape. As long as your repairs are under $1500 you’re good I think.
My manual 15 Rocks
That Scion xB is great vehicle, I’m on my 4th Toyota all Camry’s 2010 w/ 308k 2012 w/235k 2016 w/178k miles at trade in my newest daily driver 21’ Camry v6 301hp not super fast but get the job done I do a lot of highway driving so I have switch my car every fews years they just affordable & reliable vehicles
At least Randy you bought one of my choices since subscribed....Thank you man
Scion is a good little car let's see more of it
Hey Randy! Great video as usual. Obviously you know how to best your finances, but I always liked seeing the fleet of cars you amassed at once, all so different and unique. I hope you continue to bring us all types of cars. It helps me see what I think I may like in the future!
Good car. Mechanically sound. Just needs minor cosmetic touches.
In my country the car fuxed can get you 6grand easy
Hi. That's just a cheep and reliable Toyota capable of 32mpg.... and that's it.
Nice catch Randy, keep fishing good cars.
Looking good Mr Randy love your channel 😀
I drive old Toyotas and there amazing I got one with 223k and 319k both 4 runners SR5s 4x4s 97 and 2001 the old ones are better then some of the new but it's hard too get parts for the old ones depending on what it is good luck I love all the videos you do keep up the amazing work you do.
So glad you got it such a great car
I always want to see your videos Randy, I enjoy them
This is a great Toyota product! I have a 2006 Scion Xb with 130,000 mile and the only thing I have ever had to replace is battery and alternator. If it was made in Japan like mine it will run forever. Great Deal! FYI…. The hatchback handle is made of plastic and I have had to replace mine 3 times due to failure and the way mine front end is sloped I have had to replace my windshield twice due to rock chips but Toyota paid for the first replacement(recall).
Pretty sure he didn’t have the doors unlocked. If just the driver door was open, it will remain locked.
Two shades of colour, but still a fine runner. 😎👍🇨🇦
That Sciota seems great, might be handy to keep around for kinda not too big hauls?
Believe it or not that particular model yr had paint issues that the parts were painted in different factories and then assembled and after they were sold the color differences became noticeable. They had a recall that was so restrictive that few ppl got them repainted. A old friend had one and she got hers repainted!
Yes more Toyotas and ar headquarters
I have a manual 15. Best car I have ever owned. Its got a lot going on, $2400 is okay, and a bad title(?). If its a Keeper, its worth it. Watch the oil. Sometimes they burn it. Mine does not at all. You can replace the trans filter, not really necessary. Just oil replacement. These can hit 350k or more with reasonable care. Taxis all over my town. Ill keep mine forever. Mine had some chips on front fender and had I had it painted (I should have just touched it up) and is a bit off. I don’t care that much. Put a stock wheel on it, replace the windshield, and enjoy it. They are great cars!
There is a reason used Toyotas cost more than the American competition. At 125k miles the only issue I have had with my Camry is the battery failed at 8 years old and a marker light burned out. Meanwhile my friend’s Ford Focus is on it’s third transition with 80k miles.
With junkyard transmission. You can tell from the marking on the transmission housing 3:40
Keep the XB and paint it or wrap it with your logo. Make it to a advertising billboard
Scions are our Toyota rukus here in Australia until they stopped them it should be a 2.4l petrol which is the Camry 4cyl engine another great car and video 😉
I like it. I think you got a good deal on the Scion 👍👍
Im a new subscriber just love your channel please keep them coming thank you and congrats on yalls new home god bless
Thanks for subbing!
I would just keep with the type of cars you have been doing randy enjoy the content every video glad when you release the new videos
Great video randy
Randy, look at the doors, fenders and hood for VIN tags. If they are there see if they match. It's possible Scion does not put VIN tags in each removable panel but in my 2005 Tundra every panel has a VIN tag.
This car can be a good A to B for lot of families. It will be interesting to see another video of it!
Yes I would like to see u drive it to aar headquarters to see if there is any major issues great videa by the way keep up the great job u do
The seats has a 90's to early 2000's pattern I like that, those are nice seats.
Yes please! More Toyota contents. Thanks!
Great little buy man..good eye
Would love to see the scion again
scions have weird paint jobs if you look at photos of them, weird color combos and effects. I would keep it as you run to co-parts rig and the gravel road to your new house the scion can take the beating and still be worth what you paid if you sell it later.
Well he saw the tape line so but me and my dad could do a better paint job lol😅 we actually spend time on our shit this thing mustove been a Macco car
Randy, You got a steal of a deal on that Scion XB.
The paint is different because it is probably a tri coat paint. Meaning it has a mid coat the has like pearl colors on it. It probably has been repainted which is why the paint wouldn’t match
Nice Lil Smoke Box Lol. Same Engine In Corolla And Matrix Not Bad Replace Front Window Will Make Someone Happy . Sweet Deal Randy Easy Flip With A Paint Job Maaco
I have this car ! Mines is a 2012 Scion xB and it’s white. I love my little hot box 📦😂😂 it’s really a good car especially on road trips for over 9 hours. Really good car
Definetily doors have been repainted, it can already be seen from afar by doors different paint texture alone. Passenger doors are slightly matt, and rear quarter is much more glossy.
Hi Randy, The wife has a 2015 xB and we could not be happier with it :) it's a little tinny when you close a door but for the money, you did good, keep it if you can and drive it, you will like it :)
Cool ride man
you should look into a 2018-2020 camry xse v6 if your looking for a reliable daily driver that’s still somewhat nice.
Biggest issue with xB is road noise. I find it very fun to drive and cheap to own.
For $2500 I would drive that thing all day long especially with the car prices the way they are
Love Toyota products I own a Scion Xa, and a Lexus LS400, so I would love to see ur Scion stick around a bit
I got both of my Toyotas at my local auction. 2004 corolla le bought at 138k now at 162k 3 years later. A few months ago got a 2003 Camry xle 177k now but just got it at 172k no major issues with either. Easy maintenance
I love my Toyota Camry. 322,000 plus and still running strong 👍👍
I looked around that's about the right price for that I've seen some for more. Runs & Drives it will get somebody around for cheap
Of all the people that do similar content to what you do, yours is always my favorite, always a Fullview, Take Care, Staysafe, Liked vid
I think what may have happen is possibly the hail damage was real bad so they found doors and bumpers that looked like they match but of course when you have a closer look it stands out
Hey Randy, why dont you keep this car as the econobox you considered having? The car is in great shape and its really cheap to mantain
I think it looks like a car from a guy that used to sell pot
I have a 2009 Scion XB with 76000 miles on it . Other than normal maintenance it’s been a fantastic car
Love this car Randy
Wouldnt mind seeing more on the scion!!!
$2450 is still a good deal. I think those are cool. Always wanted one.
@@worldhello1234 agree overpriced can probably get one lower miles locally for less $$$
Randy im loving the car selection here lately ! But you need to get a couple of Mini vans ! If for anything to have a bigger variety of content ! I can not recall if you EVER got a mini van before ?
Those scions are notorious for busted front ends from rock chips and other road shit. I remember having one new and literally anything from the road would shatter the windshield.
My 84 S-10 has the same windshield it had in it when I got it in 97. One star. No cracks. My xB I’ve owned 11 years and it’s had 3 windshields put in it. I gave up. Last one lasted two months. Cracked, starred. Pitted. Still the car is amazing! Never broken down. Ever. Cheap to maintain and drive.
Under fluorescent lights. Can see all bodywork or paint.
Absolute steal! Comfortable, good MPG, will last forever.
Would like to see another video on the Toyota Scion
It would make a good family hauler for a couple with two kids.
My 2011 Toyota Corolla has 163,000 miles and runs like a top. I’ve owned it for two years and I put 20,000 miles on it. Toyotas have a bulletproof reputation for reliability.
Hey Randy if you look at the passenger rear door in the passenger front door or dull have a do look to him the right rear quarter has a shin to it look and you can see it
i bet if you put hub caps on the saturn it will go for at least 150 bucks more
Yes I would like to see th video of you taking the car to aution. 😀👍🇨🇦
Family ranch had a 2016 ram 2500 cummins for 4 years. Beautiful and capable truck. Only complaint was if you follow the "severe" maintenance schedule for towing it will really nickel and dime you to death. Better to maintain them yourself, the dealer will try to bankrupt you. $150 (synthetic blend)oil change, $200 fuel filters, air filter at $70 and differential services every 30k? Not to mention all the EGR/DEF headaches. A little much for a machine made for towing. I cannot fault all these guys deleting them. I just wish they would keep the factory exhaust muffler lol. Here in texas every deleted 3/4 ton truck sounds like an 80's freightliner...
i am interested in seeing more video on this car plz
Excellent 👌 deal
Yes let's see it again!!
I’m desperately needing a gas saver with room and this would be great!
another video on the Scion XB please!!!
Why worry about the color? The paint is solid, the metal is covered except for slight alignment of the hood and a dented fender and broken windshield. It's a driver, not a show car or resto-mod.
I think 2450 for a Toyota is good value for one that runs perfect and the boot door won't open for 30 seconds arfter a dead battery
New windshield, you have your winter beater with heater, Randy sell it in the spring.
Toyota is where it’s at with reliability
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great cars they absolutely get up and go if u need them to.
Yeah. I would say to put it up on the rack to really check it out. I have been watching these for a while now and think they are great little cars, Did you notice how quiet it was on the trip home? Not to many smaller cars are that solid after 200,000 miles. I wish I could find a deal like that.
On the topic of what Dodge's get like when they get about 100k miles. My uncle has a 2012 Ram 3500. Thing has been a nightmare ever since it hit 100k. 3 Engine replacements and the same issue has come back every time on every one of the engines.
The Pontiac Vibe it is Toyota Corolla Matrix it have Toyota engine and transmission so if you find one go for it
Yeah I currently have a Vibe and I have nothing bad to say about them.
It is pearl paint look's good to me. Randy the left rear tire is the spare. What's the results in the Monte Carlo sale?
I would like to see more of it.
Put a led light up to it, also things might've been replaced because of hail damage. I'd try doing some paint correction to see if you can get everything to match a bit better.
Try a paint measurer as well
The Scion may be a victim of insurance repair rejection with the shoddy mismatched panels.
My guess would be they passed it on to their kid and they sideswiped something, then rear ended someone and they got it all fixed at the same time, who knows
A trip to AAR HQ would be good - interesting vehicle.
Hello from England Randy.
One day please can you tidy up a hail damage car with PDR and show us the process?
great channel btw
Plenty of room ,economical, put a killer sound system in it and have fun.
