I'm looking forward to keeping up with this project. I'm currently planning the same swap in my 89 x8. Only difference is mine is a vvti motor. Keep it up bro!

In 1990, Toyota switched to a series 2 kouki crossmember half way through 1990 (August). I had the same issue with my 90 Cressida as well regarding mounts. The early 1990 Cressida's had a series 1 zenki crossmember like the '89. Confusing, but the only way to check is through a VIN check to find the manufacture date.

I used an mr2 sw20 booster really nice and slim gives you tons more room for the 1uz valvecover

I finished my 1uz swap last winter, and have been using it as a daily most of the summer. The uz is super reliable

Man this car is going to be badass. Parts haul look so nice & the Valve covers. I watch any nice content on old Toyotas. Or any cool car stuff but if it's a burden to film & upload don't do it just for me. At the same time what I have heard from people who made it or got lucky, consistent routine compounds momentum.

I saw your old video on CZcams, my name is Abby the 1uzfe to s13
Chassis you did what did you use for the clutch disc, pressure plate & throw out bearing??
Bcuz I’m trying to avoid the super expensive collins kit. I have the transmission sr20 adapter plate, collins 1uz flywheel, collins adapter pilot bushing, sr20 trans, regular sr/ka pressure plate and clutch disc.
I think this should work I’m basically trying to avoid Collins clutch disc & pressure plate bcuz it’s too expensive

Without a stand-alone, I’m not sure how you do COP. I’m sure there’s solutions out there but it’s not something we looked into. -J.

are you still doing the ls swap too? is that another car or did you yank the ls for the uz?
