As a Spurs fan, I have to remind myself how early we are in the Ange tenure and what this first year represents. This is the year Ange sets down his style and principles. Next year, itâs building on that. Weâre so damn early in the process of this real rebuild. Thanks for your video take on the matter.
When Celtic were struggling with injuries during Anges first year all the pundits, journos and fans who knew better than him implored him to change his tactics. And he didnât. And he got success.
He did the same at Yokohama. And Brisbane. And for the Socceroos (who won the 2015 Asian Cup under Ange).
He knows what he is doing - better than any of the critics
Why is there this narrative about Spurs? Please stop spreading cowardly narratives about changing tactics; yes you may get a few short term results that ultimately undermines the philosophy of play. Look back at Pep and Klopp their teams had plenty of dropped points and inconsistent performances and results in their first year or two.
Spurs are a new team with a ton of changes in the squad, loosing Harry Kane, new style of play, and a ton of injuries. Not to mention the added time being increased. Ange and Spurs are so far ahead of schedule. Itâs not likely to win the league but people seem to forget that there are many momentous games and ordinary games ahead for all these top 5 clubs in the league table. We all need a level headed optimism with reasonable perspective and expectations but excitement for improvement.
Optus is supporting Ange and I like that. This clip is just discussing the philosophy and how it could be easy to take the easy option and wind down the clock - but why Ange won't do that in the daring hope it will improve the team and play long term.
Well said
It's a very english narrative to go back to being pragmatic and short term in thinking. That is why there are no longer many english managers considered top tier.
Keeping the ball better is what it's all about ..We still have players ceeding possesion due to the meerest of pressure by the opposition, nevermind at the tail end of a game when the opponent is throwing caution to the wind, in a desperate attempt to get an equaliser. We will sort it out in time.
We've been listening to Ange's 'do Plan A better' mantra for years, yes he did say that way back when, but people who have played under Ange in the past underestimate his ability to adapt and mold his game plan in the ever evolving football world. We're already seeing him mix up his formations & tactics this season, particularly in comparison to his time at Celtic where they were the dominant side. Yes the key principles more or less stay the same, but Im seeing some gigantic shifts tactically. Hows he's going to deal with Vicarios perceived weakness from corners will be an interesting one, saw him with his head down deep in thought about that one. We Aussies love Anges mantras but lets not get stuck in the past - he even says himself he is constantly learning and evolving.. Im pretty sure there is Plan B, C & D nowdays in the EPL and CL
In Ange we trust
Dragusin should cover the back post and clear the ball with his header's which is his strength, dude won 80% of the aerial challenges at his last club
Drop Ange a line, I'm sure he'd appreciate your sage advice đ
If he's on the field. Hopefully Ange will or has figured all the things out. Although Ange is the world's best coach in history, doesn't mean he is perfect / GOD.
@@ricky5538 put him on for the last 20 mins or so when they are under most pressure, the guy is a brick wall đ§±
@@BaxterThewall I'll just send him a msg instead,by pigeon
@@ricky5538 he's still adapting to the league and the way other teams play,he knows what to expect now and next season there's no excuses
Angeâs adage âATTACK IS THE BEST FORM OF DEFENCEâŠâ keep going and put teams on the back foot. No compromise.
Spurs have lost 18 points from winning positions. Theyve also won 13 points from losing positions. Its almost as if a lot of games have had multiple changes of a lead.
The typical whining that went on whilst Ange was coaching Australia continues from the same critics. Ange is not Mr Practical or Pragmatic. His game style is to outperform, outplay and outthink the opponent and make them surrender. Itâs about good habits and players being super fit. The players he uses are different to other players from other teams. Its not about individual performances it about the group performance. This is how he replicates the tap in goal that you see so often scored under Sngeball. Ange builds championship winning squads not teams with champions. If Ange allows his players to slacken off then he canât implement his game plan. Itâs all or nothing with AngeBall.
There's been numerous times this season where Spurs are leading in the 60-70min mark and Ange has brought on defensive players to replace attacking players and then conceded goals to lose games.
Not sure why all the pundits are plugging this all out attack ange nonsense, Ange has shown often that he is willing to hold onto a lead
Ultimately, if we stick to plan A for 1.5+ seasons, we'll already see success, let alone the overall growth and trophy's we'll see across his four years, if we can keep him. We're impressed with the first half of the first season... mate, just wait.đ
They just need to keep long possession.
Wow⊠When you put it into context⊠Spurs have dropped 18pts from winning positions⊠and Angeâs teams ALWAYS become more stable⊠bodes well.
Man City have conceded more late goals than spurs
Its more because the team is young. Just don't turn over the ball and give away late free kicks.
Oh thanks Phil. Swings ands Roundabouts hey! No! Stop letting in stupid piss weak goals in red time. Learn how to defend.
Somehow most in Australia think Arnie is a better coach than Ange, guess he's not good enough for Spurs then.
Most ???đ€Łđ€Łđ€ŁBack it up buddy
HUH ?!?!?!
I don't know one semi-knowledgeable football person who would rank Arnie ahead of Ange
Who is most? I donât know a soul that rates Arnie
Arnie although better than Pim and Holger, but Arnie isn't half as good as Ange. Nobody is.
Especially long term - Ange's teams get better and better over time. Other coaches just reach a level like a building being built, then it stays that height.
Plan A = just copying Pep
