"New for 2018 from Danelectro! The classic ‘66 is killing it on stages and in studios across the globe. Now we add the Wilkinson tremolo and voila… The new '66 Baritone ('66BT) is the coolest instrument on the planet. Drool worthy."

This is literally my new dream guitar baritone, semi hollow, humbucker P90 setup. Amazing
I would definitely do solid body though, just for note for note clarity.
@Chris E. I...already did?
This video did it for me. I bought a 66BT right after I watched it. That rich sound!
I was waiting for QotSA. I was not disappointed.
🤘🏻👍🏻👌🏻
Livingroom Gear Demos thinking of getting a baritone specifically for QotSA-esque drop tuned desert rock.
When he played “Millionaire” I was sold on this thing. Most satisfying riff to play.
Thank you for the enjoyable, wide and varied demo.I am buying this one because the sounds from this guitar would captivating to an audience watching a movie in a cinema
That thing sounds awesome!!
This would pair really nicely with my Squier Baritone Jazzmaster! Really love that it has a trem, not too many baritones have them. I'm a huge fan of baris, I wish I had the dough to add this to my arsenal!
Nice playing !! Nice sounding !!
Agh, that thing looks superb man. Congrats!
Thanks!
Thank you to test it with distortion and metal/punk style ! You give me a important confirmation
In the last section, at about 10:30, you used a loop for the low string and then were playing some melodies over it. Did you have some kind of octave pedal on for the melody line? It sounded a bit like a 12-string. Very cool!
2:33 Oh Yeah!!!😈
Best guitar CZcamsr out there
Anyone know the scale length on this thing? It's not even on the Danelectro website yet...
(sounds ace by the way!)
One year late :P but, 29.75" scale.
All demos of this guitar sound like its loaded with very thin surf-twang oriented strings. I would love to hear how it sounds with thicker baritone strings and good tension! Yours at least sound a few steps closer!
Qotsa all the way with this one!
Man, how is it tunned?
B E A D F# B
Awesome tone!
🤟🏻
Just order mine, my first bari. Hope the build quality is adequate.
Rogelio Gauvin updates?
3:28 beautiful!
what would you say the nut width on this guitar is? wider than a regular guitar?
So *this is not a sponsored video"* this time Eiric?
Well, Danelectro sent it to me, so I guess I'll have to update the description.
He just plays it and doesn’t review it...so too me it’s not sponsored.
infoowetrust he never reviews his gear. He just demoes it. Yet all the other vids mention to be sponsored.
You should try it with the hologram dream sequence
Amazing sound! Pedals used?
Hamstead Odyssey mostly. Ohmles Boar Fuzz also
Desert Rock Sessions 🤘🏻
Hi! any issues in neck with humidity? any curvsture? Because is so long.
Has anyone ever formed a power trio- bass, drums and baritone guitar? Or would that be just too much low end?
Seems like it might be powerful.
Greet Death
My sludge band is, low end is our realm
@@bungdilly6333 cool
@@mikec6733 very powerful ;)
@@bungdilly6333 Do you use a 66bt?
Sounds like fret buzz but that's usual to vintage instruments
it's just shy of 30"... can this be used as a bass VI if one wanted to? Nice to have that versatility.... It's between this and a squire bass VI with Novak lipsticks for me... I want the ultimate combo of Duane Eddy and spaghetti western
I have both, the 66BT and a Bass VI. I don't play the Danelectro very often, because the Bass VI has much more character and the tremolo is more solid and stable than the Wilkinson on the 66BT, which goes out of tune even by looking at it.
@@danielleinad6019 Interesting you say this because I have a Bass VI that I love and was thinking of acquiring a 66bt to pair with it to cover more ground and frequencies, shame about the Wilkinson :(. The 66bt sounds incredible clean. My Bass VI sounds incredible dirty.
Interesting comments. I would think the 66 BT has its own character just due to the B to B stringing which means everything will be affected by the voicings. I was also thinking that maybe the trem on the Dano is faulty, or maybe some work needs to be done on the set-up to get it to stay in tune, or maybe needs a new trem!! On the Bass Vl, as reported by Bep86, I would also wonder about the set-up and pickups, as it should have the capability to play clean. Maybe it is an issue with the amp? I believe you both, I am just wondering about tweaks or trades on those parts. Both instruments sound amazing, I am thinking the Bass Vl would just be easier to adapt to for a guitar player.
I bet this neck dives easily
What's the name of the song you played beginning on 10:28?
No song, just some looping stuff.
Livingroom Gear Demos it’s super awesome. I couldn’t stop listening to it
Did you use a pedal on the melody line to get an octave/12-string effect?
You know why I liked your video. A song for the deaf is such a rare song.
What overdrive/fuzzes are you using?
Hamstead Odyssey and PLBR Maritimus
For me, too much effects (overdrive, reverb, shimmer) in this test to really appreciate the sound of the guitar.
It’s literally how 90% of players will use it.
@@yungstaben76751. How do you know that? There are absolutly no data or studies allow you to pretend what you say...
I will not buy a guitar if I do not hear the real and clean sound of a guitar on a amp without effects, even if I like to use reverb, delay and stacking dirt pedals.
For a test of a guitar, many you tube videos present all the different sounds of a guitar clearly and honestly, without all that effect biais.
@@jsebsteelguitar I like that you started with “1.” only for there to not be a “2.” And as someone who throws a ton of reverb, delay, and overdrive or fuzz onto something, I almost never care what the base tone is of an instrument. For me it’s literally just “does it feel good to sit with/stand with?” and “does the neck feel good?” But you’re right, my 90% was just a number I pulled from nothing because I know a lot of people do not care.
@@yungstaben7675 For you, my point "2".
2. I love the sound of the guitar, I play classical nylon string guitar, acoustic folk guitar, Fender and Gibson style electric guitars.
I know by experience that the ton (!?!) of effects you applies to a guitar will sound crap if your clean sound guitar that is also a crap/shit one.
For me and for a lot of guitarists, the sound of a clean sound without any effect in a quality amp is a good way to know if the guitar is a good one or a bad one, beside the "feel" of the neck etc.
@@jsebsteelguitar I also play acoustic folk weirdly enough, but when I use an electric guitar it’s to make massive soundscapes. Hence the “ton” of reverb and delay I mentioned. Basically trying to make the guitar sound like anything but a guitar. Which is probably why I don’t give a shit what the base tone is like, especially since wood doesn’t matter in an electric like it does an acoustic. Plus There’s always EQ if you don’t like the tone of something.
Would have like to hear some surf and spaghetti western sounds...
Check out my baritone video...
Wasn't this a baritone video? :(
1 QOTSA = 1 LIKE
What kind of chorus were uses in 7:10?
When playing sitting on a chair everything is fine. But when standing on stage with a strap, the neck/head constantly tilts down and you have to correct with your left hand. What a bad design!
I'll bet alot of bass players retired the bass and started playing Baritone.
It sounds like an alternative to the bass
