A tip for the very first segment on cable wraps: Before placing the cable organizer, WRAP the cord around it, then see where it will fit best so you don't have a lot of leftover cable dangling. Sometimes an inch or two makes all the difference. ALSO, if you have a HEAVY cable, there are styles other than strict wraps that work far better. Heavy cables tend to pull a lot and I have had no luck with the type you used in the segment for heavy or stiff cables--the kind that kind of operate like ladies' hair clips work best--the kind that have a top clip-type holder, kind of whaped like a figure 8, where you wrap then the clip closes to hold the cable in place.

I love my Command Cable Bundlers for wrapping my appliance cords. I use it even for my mini auto doner vertical broiler that holds a 10 lb. gyros cone made by Optimal Automatics in Elk Grove Village, Illinois. I hang the half pan you use to catch the meat as you are shaving it, on the side of the unit, and I hang another one on the back of the unit to wrap the heavy cord. I also use those eyelet pin screws to secure a 2 foot bungee cord from side-to-side on the wall beneath the window. Then, I secure the large size matching binder clips to the bungee cord so I can hang all my oven mitts and pot holders from it and it is aesthetically pleasing, plus, all your safety gear is in eyesight. At our older age, it is such a blessing. Inside one of the cut gloves that hangs there, I keep this oven rack puller made of silicone that looks like Elmo from Sesame Street. You pull the oven rack out by his mouth. It's humorous, but functional. below the bungee cord arrangement I hung a hook screw that I hang my 12" Lodge frying pan glass lid from. On the handle of the lid I hang 2 ziplock bags which I cut a hole in the center on top just the right size to fit over the handle, then I have all my pieces to our whip it whipped cream maker/dispenser in one and all the pieces for vacuum sealing Mason Jars in the other bag and a third bag full of those black rubber gloves. I could go on and on about making vertical space on the wall like I do because we love little kitchen gadgets and we both cook. I can send you some pictures of interesting ideas. I have a bunch that are DIY upcycle, repurpose, and unusual store bought finds people don't know about but I do exhaustive research from time-to-time. I put the cling wrap dispenser you found on my list at Walmart so I will buy a couple when I can for waxed paper and cling wrap. See? I was doing my research and stumbled on this. :D I hate wrestling with cling wrap. I have a food saver vac/sealer, but the handheld one would be nice for when I just don't feel like plugging in the big unit. I seal chips with it, sometimes, but your idea seems better for that purpose. I will put it on my list. I have a similar salad spinnner made by Farberware. I just love it! Oh! Have you tried the Walter Drake lettuce keeper? It got a few bad reviews where people said it didn't secure properly, but mine has worked for me for 2 years so far. My lettuce nevver goes bad when I use it. It can last for a week or 2. Seriously! Also, Fox Run's pie keeper is red and clear plastic and has containers within the container for individual slices of pizza or pies and I love it so much I bought 2. Runs about 20 bucks and is worth every single penny. I gotta get one of those silicone trivet/potholder/jar openers! You just made a believer out of me. All great ideas! Thanks! Also, they make these perfect form fitted silicone soda pop can lids that fit any size soda or beer can. I queried soda can lids and found them because it typically takes me 3 or 4 days to drink a can of soda. I just set it in the fridge and take a sip when I go in the kitchen. It's never flat til about the 4th or 5th day. I liked them so much I bought a bunch to share with others. Also, expandable like an accordion silicone hamburger holders so no more drips. You can find both in bright colors on Walmart's website. Also, pie crust protectors. I love my aluminum ones. They save you from having to wrestle aluminum foil.

@@WebspoonWorld Yes. Thanks. Every single inch of space is taken. I was going to buy a commercial grade plastic food storage walk in freezer type tub for under the counter cabinet storage because i cannot get on my knees to see or grab what i am searching for, but I had a cardboard box in the exact same dimensions needed, so I covered it in plain blue contact paper and I store all the plastics in it. it slides in and out like a drawer. My kitchen overflow is in this room where I sit at the dining table. Since I broke my spine I lost 6 and a half inches in height, rendering me down to 4'10" in height, so I can no longer reach the cabinets above the counter. Thus, I spent years, even before my spine broke, researching to find oval dinner plates. Plain white. I went to webstaurant store. I bought a case. 12 of them. 75 bucks. I'd also been searching for a plastic tote or box to fit them in because you can always find carriers for storage of round plates, but not oval. I settled on Advantus super stacker divider boxes with the blue divider on top. I use the divider for in my junk drawer. Fits perfectly. The dimensions given were for the exterior of the box, though, so I had to buy another set of plates because the first set did not fit. I tried to give the ones away that didn't fit but nobody wants them. I bought World Porcelana, made in China, vitrified. Cost considerably more for a dozen, but well worth it to get that nagging obsession out of my head and onto my table inside those Advantus boxes, as it was even more crucial I find something since I'm now so short. Anyway, they fit perfectly and so I stacked the 2 Advantus boxes on the other end of this table where I sit at my computer. Each box fits 6 plates when you layer flexible foam sheets between the plates so they don't break inside. Next to that is a big black cafeteria style serving tray that I keep our saucers, bowls, and ramekins on. I just cover those with a towel. No way can I take the frustration of seeking a tabletop storage solution for those. It was too much nnightmare to find the plate solution. I also keep my kitchenAId mixer, plugged in constantly to a cord under the table, with a black quilted dust cover over it that I cut a small hole in the top back so I can run the cord through, then all I have to do is slip it off and do the mixing, then clean it up and slip it right back on. It's a weird way to adapt to becoming a super short person. It is excritiating pain to try and reach things up high and a reacher grabber is nice, but not safe handling glass dishes. Haha. But it works. I also have a 24x18" marble slab I put on this end of the table or over the kitchen sink to roll out doughs because our kitchen is only 12 foot by 7 foot, and considerably smaller when you factor in the fridge, stove, and this heavy cart I keep pans in the bottom of and my microwave hogs up one side of the countertop and the other side has his coffee pot setup and the dish drainer. I keep my coffee bar in here. we drink different types of coffee. I keep my coffee beans in protein shake containers. I reused a coffee mate shaker for a sugar shaker. I made him something I found online. I took the lid from Morton salt and cut it to fit a Mason Jar. of course, I sort of laminated it with Gorilla tape before I put it on or the first drop of water would ruin it. He loves it. It's too heavy for my wrists, though. I store all dry goods in the bigger, sturdier water bottles and largest peanut butter plastic containers. and my flour, sugar, rice, farina, potato flakes, anything dry goes in protein shake containers and similar. Almost never does plastic make it to our recycle bin. It's all spoken for. I secured an expandable coat rack to a blank wooden sign and there I hang my large coffee cups. I just had to Dremel the dowels down a little on top so the cups wouldn't fall. Also, overflow spices and odd things like rennet, invertase, Gulfwax, and Knox unflavored gelatin go into these 3 pedigree dog food boxes that held mylar dog food envelopes. They have a divider inside that makes 3 compartments so I just hot glued those in place and painted them black, then decoupaged images of flowers from the seed catalogues I get in the mail. I keep a 600 pack of Melitta coffee filters and stack 4 stacks into a marinated Artichoke jar. Easier to grab them and they stay clean. I save the big almost gallon sized artichoke jars for Ritz, graham, mini saltine, and regular saltine crackers I oftentimes tape or glue the label to the jar. LIke there is an Oreo label on a protein shake container I keep Oreos in, and a bag of Fritos fits perfectly in a jar from Knorr Bouillon. Sometimes the whole sleeve just fits on another container. Goo Gone removes almost all glue and labels. Alcohol removes some others. I buy a 6 pack at a time of 91% isopropyl. I spray my environment and all surfaces with it daily because bleach can stain some things. I do spray bleach water on the carpets daily, though, because it is indoor/outdoor carpet. Ancient stuff. We have 4 cats. He is going to remodel soon. I bought a 3'x5' metal shed for all my rakes and shovels and stuff but can't put it up until I know for sure what's going on with the remodeling. I upcycle because my grandmother used to do it, too. She made me doll houses and doll furniture from cardboard boxes and all kinds of things. Waste not, want not, eh?

Love your gadgets. Also your socks. ☺ My salad spinner is worth its weight in gold. I grow herbs, and it really cuts down my time when I process the fresh for drying. I may just have to get me a grater. I won't have to call hubby in to grate my cheese. ☺

Errrr....8.20: Mr. WSW- you can also use the grater to 'julienne' carrots and other vegetables.
Don't buy cauliflower 'florets' and you can use the whole cauliflower stalk esp. making soup.
Ask your local butcher for (fresh) bones to use to make stock.
A few herbs, bones for hours and some veg...............
Some gadgets work but think (cheaper) 'outside the box'.............

    • @WebspoonWorld

Errr....Mr. WSW; use glasses (top) to cut cookie dough / mini-pizzas / to make mini pizzas / cookies.
Veg.oil on inside of the glass so it doesn't stick.
Jam (and bought) jars work too.
Then you can always re-cycle them.
Evey you switch your 'air fryer on'; think about all the hot air you're wasting.
A grater, a potato and some kind of rub makes the evening perfect........

    • @forandonbehalfof4753
      @forandonbehalfof4753 Před 3 měsíci

      Errr..... Mr. WSW; try EVERYTHING.
      You'll make mistakes but learn.
I made mistakes but my mincer/biscuit maker is sub $30.
      good luck......
