You are gunna want to look at blow off valve for turbo flutter 🫡 or if you jus bypass it and go full turbo surge. Intake only make noises more prevalent verses airbox.
@@carebox5932 Don't think so No BOV on a highly pressurized engine is risky. It can shorten the life of the turbo because when the throttle body closes the air/pressure is forced back through to the compressor side of the turbo, forcing it to try to start spinning in the opposite direction.
@@gaycha6589 It doesn't have a blow off valve or bypass valve, no it doesn't damage the turbo and no it is literally impossible for it to make it spin the opposite direction, it doesn't even slow the turbo down.

The 'flutter' one hears is that effect and chuff is that effect in non BOV cars. the sudden change of pressure can effect turbo bearings thru this effect thur constant destabilization at load. There are many examples of removal of BOV causing early or catastrophic turbo failure, although none in the GR that I am aware of. Maybe this will be first. Wouldn't take chance with mine and i think it sounds chavvy. But ETTO = as I also dislike backfiring exhausts 🙂

It comes from going floored with the gas pedal to not being floored, the plate on the throttle body closes and the air has no where to go but back into the turbo. It's fine, don't listen to what people say.
Either the transmission hasn't been tuned or can't be, or the set up isn't dialed in,....but there ain't no way that his shift points should impede acceleration

Yes sliding is fun, muscle cars are great, but a toyota yaris gripping and ripping like a lightweight supercar is not only more mental, but way more fun. Plus that sound... last I remember, 3 cylinders were boring, both in sound and performance. Shit looked scary on camera, imagine being in the passenger seat

This sound is from not running a blow off valve or the factory valve, it's turbo flutter.

For there to be the flutter there wouldn't be a blow off valve. So it's possible the person probably just removed the stock one

Remove your blow off valve/bypass valve, get a metal intake going into the turbo.
