● In this video I take you onboard a friend's 2003 Subaru Impreza STi with KAPS 6-speed sequential transmission for a few laps around Monza circuit. The car was running at 1.75 bar (25 psi), putting down 745hp and 790nm of torque. Make sure to turn up your speakers because this thing sounds nuts!

Don`t forget the smell of the clutch plates, gas and oil inside the car. I drive Impreza`s for over 20 years and I still love it.
Probably one of the most satisfying raw povs of a modified car racing I have seen. That whine reminds me of watching classic minis doing rally which sounds awesome, and that nice solid thunk every time he shifts is soooooo satisfying! Of course the engine sounds great too, super smooth!
I had two Minis as a youngster and I thought the same!
Porsche sounds better, and would beat the Subaru with a driver that's actually trying and equivalent horsepower.

@@victoralvarez9459 The Subaru flat 4 engines, in particular the EJ series found in the WRX and STi are known for main bearing failure, which has a higher likelihood of occurring when redlining the engine and bouncing it off the rev limiter.

Yeah it had weak brakes and the car is mostly stock so the chassis cant handle the G's and it doesn't have enough down force to slay corners

Because the only reason we're seeing the Subaru as so fast is because there's at least a 150hp discrepancy between specs, AT LEAST, there is no way in hell that Porsche is over 550hp. External wastegate is the loud af sound, they sound sick on subarus. The whine is from the sequential box which is probably worth more than the car alone 😂

With those speeds, I definitely agree about having a roll cage. Watching his speeds on the long straights though, he's hitting the red line well before he's hitting the brakes. Seems to me a lower rear end ratio would have been more optimal for this track.
Yep, so many folks seem to misinterpret shorter gears always means faster. It may feel faster because your ripping through gears but it actually is slower because of it. Example, Evo and STI(USDM EJ25) both would actually be faster in a straight line with a longer final drive even stock. Now admittedly, on a tight autocross track, or say... a rally course, perfect gearing.
