No, when you are a public person some part of the privacy has to be given up. We do not need to get too much information, but it would be absolutely appropriate to share how he is doing -- in just a few sentences. Without the fans he would not be the public person and would not have earned all the money as well.

I remember, princess Diane died as a result of media thinking it was their business to know what she was doing in her private life. She was no longer the wife of Prince Charles, which I believe a relationship she was forced into. These people are no longer public figures. Leave them alone.
The whole situation is tragic. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure out that there is no good news to tell the world. If there was anything good to reveal, the family would be excited to let everybody know. I sympathize with his family, having to be so secretive about Michael. There are miraculous stories of people waking up out of a coma after many years of showing no improvement. I hope and pray that this will happen to Michael Schumacher. God bless you all.

Jean Todt appointing himself as some kind of spokesman shows that he’s not the ‘great friend’ he claims to be. Does anyone realistically think he’s been sitting up watching F1 as is claimed by him? @@reignsworld6001 I understand peoples curiosity regarding his condition. After the fame and exposure he got for many years driving in Formula 1 it is unusual for him to completely dissapear from the publics eye.
In all honesty, I can't deny I would interested in seeing him and the condition he is in but the 'fans' demanding to see him is 10x more perverse than his family not putting him on display to appease fans and media.

@@MotorsportUK2009 it might be very well his decision… when you sustain a fundamentally life changing accident plus paralysis, there is always a part of you who wants people to remember the person you were… I can sympathise with this a great deal from personal experience.
When he was driving, I never liked him, and actually considered him very unsportsmanlike on several occasions. When he had his accident though, my heart went out to him, I suddenly felt a lot of sympathy for " Schumi ", and I seriously hope he gets better.....however. Not long after his accident, Mrs Schumacher sold his private jet, and I regard that as a symbolic gesture, that sadly says a lot about his condition.............😥
Perhaps sold the jet to help pay for astronomical med bills for the best money can buy,not sure even most insurances would get you ,the best .do you know how much it cost just to keep a jet,let alone fly it

I wouldn’t want my medical condition broadcast to the world. It’s the family’s right to ask for privacy. It’s been ten years with little info on his condition but that’s the family’s choice. If his condition improves or deteriorates I’m sure the world will hear about it. But until that time comes let him recuperate in privacy because the family has a lot on their plate already.
I am a huge schumi fan , but i dont think we will see him again on his feet smilling .......too many years spent in this trauma, maybe he shoud be let to sleep in peace , they tried everything
The absence of Michael in the media is for me very obvious: I think that if they showed a drooling, skinny, wrinkly and un-communicating Schumacher in the media, it would be too much of an impact on his status and a huge gap to the athlete F1-driver Michael Schumacher that we all knew and admired back in 2013. But no matter what; if the family needs privacy, then that's what we must give them.

This is awful. Leave the Schumacher family alone. Michael and his wife have a right to their privacy. He is a great champion and deserves all the privacy and respect he needs to recover at the pace he requires.
As someone who suffered a sever head injury in a 125mph car crash on British motorway. It took me over 8 year's to walk with out a stick, to be able to choose the food I wanted & remembered that I liked. Head injuries are terrible thing's, in re-hab I met mate's who couldn't speak properly walk un aided eat un aided. Is this the sort of thing you want put on television for Michael & his Family so you know what is going on?? I was not a fan of him or his driving, but leave the man alone for the rest of his life.

I think we all need to let Michael Schumacher live his current life without constant speculation whether he's going to recover or not. After all of this time I very much doubt that he will be making a recovery to any degree.

Michael's contract with Ferrari (at the time the highest paid athlete in the world) was not paid out just in the years he was driving, it was to be paid over several years, or until his death... you can bet Corina will keep him alive to keep those Ferrari cheques coming in
Clearly he will never race again so what does it matter about his status. She probably owes the manager some money and he is chasing it.
Even though it's highly likely he is a vegetable now, I think his family still make money from his royalties - provided he is still alive. I cannot think of any other reason. It's been a decade and nothing but fake news, he will never be the same and they don't want to take the loss. His manager has the right to call out the family as he played a major role in his success. If Schumacher is infact brain-dead, the family need to let go of him. It's very clear he is not living. The family are not honest to his supporters, the people who support the sport. I may not sound compassionate, but I am empathetic as a family member. I know what it's like to closely be with and watch a family member suffer and die to their last breath, I have experienced it. If his family are keeping him alive and he is still suffering, then shame on them.
I understand that the family wants to protect Michael, but a few more details would be helpful. In this video I found out that Michael was in a wheelchair. Damn, I haven't heard that before. You don't have to post pictures of him now but really, how is he doing. It's like Daniella Zanardi, she gives us, Alex's fans, an update about how he's doing just about once a year. How Alex dealt with the loss of his legs was inspiration for me not just as a fan but me dealing with PTSD. I feel Corina could at least give us a real update on Michael and not just saying he's doing OK.
He was still unresponsive when taken home and only alive through life support machine and he might of lived if he didn’t have a helmet on it was the screws for his GoPro that he had fitted to his helmet were too long and when he hit the rock it punched several holes into a crucial area of his brain
