- Gran Turismo 7 1.46 is here, and with the April 2024 Update comes our 3 new cars - Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454, Skoda Vision GT, and Sony Afeela Prototype, as well as a couple of new career mode events, some San Diego scapes, a new but still frustratingly invite-locked Ferrari V12 collection book, and some very curious engine swaps.
With that in mind here are my thoughts on the GT7 April 1.46 update, and I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below - are you disappointed with 1.46, happy, or just indifferent?

Afeela is ok at 600. Surprisingly grippy. Fuck the vgt. Chevelle is the true prize
Yeh the Afeela isn’t bad, it’s exactly what I expected a heavy electric saloon to be. That said it’s free from Brand Central so fuck it can’t complain 🤷🏻♂️ I guess the Ambulance and Afeela been free is a huge benefit to anyone who is just buying GT7 now, allows them to save more money from day one.
I wish they'd at least let us adjust the suspension
The Chevelle is the only redeeming part of this update
If there's one positive thing about this update I'd like to shout out, it's the fact that with these 3 cars added, we finally have 500 cars in Gran Turismo 7. Remember in early GT Sport how were were promised that number by the end? Took us half a decade, and let's be honest that's far too long for what GT7 is capable of, but at least we made it. 500 vehicles. And we didn't need 100 of them to be Miatas to get there.
We still need about 96 more Miatas in this game tho 😂
And I know the latest leak has two more upcoming, one of them is another NA
Ad cars are the new 100 Miatas.
Honestly really happy with the Chevelle! Highlight of the update for me!
To be honest, there weren't any other to begin with 😅!
I won 500,000 from the Ferrari menu book.
Same here.
Me too
Im the asshole...lol...i swear to god i won the 1million dollars. So it basically paid for the Skoda 👍🏻
@@JK-js2td so you only spent 163,000 on the update lol lucky you
I won 500,000 as well
Today I got the Ferrari invite from a 4 star roulette ticket. It was for my daily workout. It unlocked the laFerrari, Enzo and the FXX K. I’ve been waiting forever for just 1 invite. Finally Polyphony delivered something positive. Lol
Would be nice if that were a scripted reward for everyone, but I doubt it 😂
Crazy, I got one too (doesn't matter to me since I already have all 3 Ferraris [And 2 Enzos at that])
@@HSGAutomotiveIt felt like a very missed opportunity for it to be the Ferrari 330 P4 as the reward.
Focus on getting the Enzo. The other two are pretty meh.
Just to confirm for anyone wondering; the 6 star ticket is just a standard one, I got 1 million credits from it which is fine because I had all the cars already, and it covered the cost of the VGT. This update just confuses me in all honesty. I personally like VGT's and I like EV's as a concept, their implementation in GT7 is just broken like I've said before, but I'm aware that I'm the minority. Most players don't like VGT's and even more don't like EV's. So if you have an update where you know you're going to have an electric AWD concept car coming, why would you choose to include another electric AWD concept car in the same update? Why would they include the Afeela here alongside the Skoda VGT when the Afeela was ready months ago based on their teaser trailer from either January or February, why wait, or why not wait longer. I know PD are famous for ignoring what the community says, but this is marketing 101, appeal to the widest possible audience, and this update fails hilariously by focusing on a type of car that such a small portion of the fanbase like or even care about.
In terms of the content, I like the Skoda VGT, I'm just disappointed that it's next to useless, because despite the meme, most VGT cars are actually genuinely not useless (there are a few) but I was hoping the Skoda would be similar to the Hyundai N and Audi E-tron and actually be useful for Sardegna money grinding. The Hyundai gets 6 laps and the Audi gets 4 before needing a recharge, that is seriously decent especially for the Hyundai, 6 laps beats some Gr.3 and Gr.2 cars on Fuel map 1 in terms of fuel economy. Unfortunately it's like the Porsche VGT for me; really fun and something I'd love to use, but completely neutered by Polyphony's incompetence. The Afeela is basically what I expected honestly. As a tech fan, I love the idea of the Afeela though I'm not sure it was entirely necessary for it to be in GT7, ironic they remembered how marketing works when it came to this car by making it free. The Chevelle is a car I'm happy to see back, it's one of my favourite 70's muscle cars, though honestly I'm not a huge fan of them because, this might be sacrilege but they all just look and feel samey to me. I'm glad to have the Chevelle back but I wouldn't mind if they didn't add anymore cars of it's type, I feel we have the essentials and any more would start to feel a little boring for me.
3 events is just beyond a joke. Events are the easiest things to add to the game but they choose to drip feed them and when they do, they're not exactly replayable most of the time. The engine swaps are cool, I'm glad it's not just an Evo engine for more Evo's again, and I think the idea lf engine swapping a Gr.4 Veyron is really funny and cool at the same time, even if it makes it useless for competitive, but honestly, as we've seen from the Trophy list, most players haven't even played a single sport mode race, so if Polyphony want to add something fun and stupid that goes completely against the E-Sports mentality then I'm all for it.
Ultimately this update won't hold my attention personally, I may make a new set for my own Custom Projects Series in May but I'm not 100% sure yet, and of course if there's a Special Projects Pack, I'll be here for that. I really wanted the Skoda to be useful so I could come out defending it because most channels just write off VGT's because they don't like them (another reason I love this channel is because you always give the VGT cars a fair chance even if it's one you don't like, such as the Bvlgari), but unfortunately it looks like it will be one of the few that is next to useless.
Love the Chevelle, it’s a damn good car and relatively cheap compared to other classic muscle cars. Haven’t really noticed, looked into, or cared about anything else so I’m glad this channel is giving the detail I didn’t look into 👍🏻
I logged in quickly just to buy me the Chevelle! 😍 One of my all time favorite muscle cars from that era! I ended up buying 5 of them so I can do my typical multi version builds. Now, if they would only give us the late 60's early 70's Olds Cutlass 442's, I'd be a very happy man! My younger brothers neighbor has a mint 70 442 convertible. 👍 To bad it's a slush box and not a stick! 😒
The chevelle give me the gt4 campaign vibes seeing it back
The reward for the v12 Ferarri's is a regular 6 star ticket
Very missed opportunity for it to be the Ferrari 330 P4 as the reward.
I actually got 1m credits from that 6 star Ferrari menu
its amazing that we got 2 new manufacturers, first the Afeela and now Skoda
whats next? A Warrior PTO? a Lister Storm? or a Mosler Raptor? would there be a warrior pto in gran turismo 7 next update?
The Afeela is free ? I'm sold
Got a million from the Ferrari prize
SAME HERE super! 🦸♂️
The Chevelle is probably the one car out of the three that's closest to being good. At least I can create Bradley Hunter's After Mix Chevelle and have some good fun with it, whereas the other two are forgettable.
I'm convinced the true reason for so many VGT cars is not only marketing, but since they aren't real, they can just make up any stats they want and that's much easier for balancing? The World Championships always feature at least, one VGT event and it's usually close to the end of the series. That's not a coincidence in my book. GT7 had so much potential, but it's just a shell of former GT games, and even track-focused racing games in general. It's a shame Forza Motorsport botched itself so badly because there's no real competition in the simcade market on console, or PC.
I really like the Skoda, feels quite nimble and is bloody quick in terms of acceleration. It's nice that it's a new brand to the series too.
I want to know why the Tokyo 600pp race isn’t added to other tracks? Like com’on
Seems like some of my more tuned cars (Evo9) doesn’t seem to turn like how it did before the update…..super weird. Also idk if my controller is going out but my BMW M3’s brakes are constantly on once I hit the brakes for the first time. I was over this update after 20 minutes of play. 😅
I installed the update, got the other to cars but not the chevelle. Thoughts??
I got a vehicle ticket and a new NSX......HOLD UP, you don't have the La Ferrari!
Can GT Sport have 1.78 patch online, HSG?
I lucked out on the Ferrari Menu Book and got 500k but I was expecting 100k or a Gr4 car…it was underwhelming
I at least, hope that they will put more effort on Gran Turismo 8 at least
I want that in the next and future updates of Gran Turismo 7, add these 194 cars that I am going to mention below:

Warning: The "Plymouth GTX 426 Hemi '71 (1971)", actually this car is already in the Gran Turismo series, made its first appearance in Gran Turismo 2, with the name: "Plymouth Road Runner '71 (1971)". When they add this car to Gran Turismo 7 in a future update, they will name it: "Plymouth GTX 426 Hemi '71 (1971)". This would be one of the cars that could return to Gran Turismo 7 after a long absence from the series.
And also when they add the "Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z '90 (1990)" and the "Pontiac GTO '65 (1965)", they would replace these two cars that appeared in the previous games in the series:
Chevrolet Camaro IROC-Z Concept '88 (1988)
Pontiac Tempest Le Mans GTO '64 (1964)
And I also want you to add and design 3 Vision Gran Turismo prototypes from the brands: Alfa Romeo, Ford and Tesla; but with names like this:
Alfa Romeo Vision Gran Turismo
Ford Vision Gran Turismo
Tesla Vision Gran Turismo
All this information has to be read, seen and known by Kazunori Yamauchi and Polyphony Digital, since they are the creators of the Gran Turismo series and they must take care of this matter. I already said it, I will not repeat it again. Keep this in mind forever and never ever forget it.
How do I get the Chevelle ?
I got a million credits from the Ferrari collection book.
i got a McLaren Mercedes SLR from the Ferrari Book 6 Star Ticket
I'm so tired of the EV, the TC or NA is where it's at, the Chevelle definitely is the best car out of all of them, anyone else notice that the Civic Type R 97 is the same look as the 98?
I've been lucky with invites and have all the invite-only cars, I think the Ferrari menu book prize was money, so kind of meh. At least it wasn't height-adjustable suspension for a safety car which I got from a ticket once and actually just made me laugh out loud about what a terrible prize it was. I'm not into VGTs but the Chevelle is a nice looking car and I'm kind of coming around to muscle cars after years of indifference.
All I got was a parts ticket
I won a Chiron from the Ferrari draw.
Basically the theme for engine swaps in this update is Corvette related. Remember the LS7 is also a Corvette engine
Such a huge disappointment of an update. I think when they initially hinted at the Afeela being added to the game I was okay with it, because I thought it would probably come along with two other cars that I'd be more interested in. But this is just the return of the Chevelle, which is good because we've had it in the past games, but not that exciting, and this electric Skoda, a brand that I don't really have a connection to and on top of that as you said it's a VGT and electric. Just seems like two gimmicky ads and a Chevelle. Oh well, hopefully next month is better.
Yeah that Ferrari collection is bs. I've never gotten a Ferrari invite in the 200hrs I've played in this game. I hate the invite system always have.
Over 600hrs here and haven’t gotten one ever, or at lest in the last 500 hours when I could’ve afforded to use it
Wow that really sux
i got the Mini Clubman VGT from the 6 star ferrari menu ticket
Only the Chevelle is noteworthy; would like to get the 67 Cougar back - and if course: new (old, real) tracks for .. sake. It‘s a racing and car enthusiast game! No EV-, Vision and prototype BS pls. And fix the known bugs.
I wish i could drift like you do with but i suck...
I received a vgt for my birthday 🤦♂️. Guess im born in the future 😂. For reference, on gt6 i used to get the audi quattro road car. Has kaz been taking notes from ubishit or ea?
for my Birthday this month, I got the LaFerrari. already got 1 and sold the old one for over 1mil CR. it's something, I guess.
When was the last time GT7 got a track in an update?
The ferrari Menu Bookk gave me an Ford GT Race Car 18
There's a fellow who owns a '69 Chevelle near us, in Australia. It's gorgeous, even moreso than the '70. The Chevelle, Malibu, Nova, are all super rare in this country.
I mean it’s cool and understandable that Sony puts their own car (prototype) in their game, but with only 3 cars per update, it would be better if they give this kind of car as a bonus, a 4th car. That would make it more likeable too, as of now a lot of people just see it as a car that takes place instead of a car they would like to see, so not a good move for it’s image I would say. And why not at least do some events racing it against the Tesla Model 3 for example, do something with it instead of just putting it into the game?
Ended up getting an F1 i didnt have from the ferrari collection. 🤙
The prize I got for the Ferrari book was 1 million credits lol
I won 1 million credits from the Ferrari Menu, got very lucky
Drag spoiler and chrome delete on the chevelle 👀
Don’t use the skoota in any races that burns tires and fuel. That VGT will only last a lap and half
My 6 star ticket only gave me a million credits
I Afeela like this update's kind of lame all-around. Seems like the consensus is that the Chevelle is the only good part of this update which I think is kinda sad. Saying that kind of thing can easily lead to interesting stuff like the VGT program getting axed but tbh most VGT cars aren't reallt all that creative.
Edit: Why the hell is there a low-profile drag rear wing for the Chevelle when there's only 3 drag events in the game
My reward from Ferrari book was 1mil credits, boring. But still better than invite from 6star coupon like last time.
I have to agree; the VGT was a poor choice to start off Skoda, the Afeela is just meh generic EV, and I couldn't care less for American Muscle (though I'm glad so many people enjoy the Chevelle).
Yeah, this update feels a bit end-of-life-ish, especially as the new events are uninspired and there's no new track (again).
I was lucky I had the invite Ferrari already, and the resulting 6* ticket got me a million credits.
Still, underwhelming overall, PD could do much better tapping all the unused potential that's still in the game, somewhere.
SAAB 9-3 Aero 250bhp '02 dream car swede car brand central swede saab scania manual 5speed trans petrol
Stopped playing this game, not a single thing have changed since It came out. Same problems over and over agein. Updates are poor to dog shit. I dont have faith in PD to make a good GT game anymore, played all off them.
Got a million credits 😕
A free piece of garbage is still just garbage
My 6 star ticket gave me £500k
What a terrible update.
I'm totally here for VGT hater tears...
We've had 11 VGTs added through updates since GT7 launched.
@@euphoriaggaminghd *shrug* So?
VGT is just there for me at this point. I just use them to give them some purpose to be used since Polyphony doesn't really give them much purpose in the game.
@@SolaricAngel116, I've turned all but two into credit grinders...
Why do they keep on giving us EV‘s? No one uses these pieces of shit basically a giant paperweight.
