Sam wrote this song himself years ago. It wasn't meant for eurovision , however when sifting through his many creative musical works he chose this for the night. Brilliant , what a voice and an extremely lovely man. A well deserved top of the voting list

I am from Ukraine, I would like to thank everybody who voted for my country, this win means a lot for us. But I personally feel that in a different circumstances Sam should have won. For me this song was the best and deserved to win, Sam’s voice and energy is everything, it melted my heart and I listed to it on repeat . I hope that he will come back next year and bring Eurovision to UK 🇬🇧.

I think a huge amout of people wanted your country to win to show unity and support and the result should be accepted with the spirit with which it was intended. @@25Dzone I think people were divided over the studio version but a lot of people enjoyed how he brought it to life on stage with his voice and personality during his rehearsals and the final especially with the guitar solo. His Jury Final was phenomenal.

Last year when I first heard this song my cousin was fighting for her life after an accident. Doctors said she wasn't going to make it and ask for her organs to be donated. I wanted to pray for help but didn't know how as I don't have any religion. Just listened to this song over and over as it made me feel I was connecting with something elevate. We don't know what happened but soon she started to get better and after a few days she woke up and she is still with us...

When I heared this song the first time it gave me a warm feeling and - I do'nt know why - sort of hope, touched something inside. Maybe this also happend to you. Sam Ryder is a extremly positive person with high star quality and the composition is wonderful, this mix of Elton John, The Beatles, his own personality and good rock music.
It still just feels so surreal that this was our UK act for 2022. I followed it entirely the whole 2022 season, watched it live, watched the rehearsals.... it feels like a surreal figment that this actually happened.
He performed at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations towards the Queen. He wore a fabulous sparkly UK flag jumpsuit. He's an icon!

I think this song’s real triumph wasn’t just getting the UK to second place in the contest, but also its sticking power. I’m still hearing this on the radio and it’s the only Eurovision song I’m still listening to months on from the contest. Bloody excellent stuff.

Yeah, sadly they had to get rid of a verse and go from the Intro to the Chorus as they have a 3 minute limit. If you listen to the song on Spotify, you will hear the full version :). I don't think any UK Eurovision fan could be more proud of Sam Ryder tonight, superb performance and what a fantastic ambassador he has been for the UK throughout. Humble, kind, honest and unique. Cruel to miss out on what I think we know should have been a rightful win, but...couldn't have asked for any more effort from the guy tonight. Hopefully the BBC have had a wake up call this year on what actually wins Eurovision contests and we start to see some actual thought and effort put into it from now on, as they seemed to this year...carried really by a fantastic singer.

Sam Ryder is one of those special singers that does what he wants with his voice. In this live performance he didn't stick to the "studio version" and he surprised us with some good variations. Nice electric guitar in the end by the way. Finished 2nd overall with 466 points, 283 of witch from the juries.
l just learnt a line dance choreographed by Debbie Rushton in honour of Sam Ryder. lt's a beautiful dance with the steps perfectly in sync with the song and l was going through the steps in my mind while savouring Sam performing the song joyously with his long locks giving him the golden boy image...plus shades of Freddie Mercury and Brian May rolled into one! Amazing talent that does the UK proud, fresh from his Eurovision success!

It was an almost impossible task expecting anyone but Ukraine to win this year. Sam won hearts and votes across the Continent (and beyond) and made the Competition better by being in it. You can’t ask for more than that.

Please don't feel anything other than the love and fellowship those votes represented. No one sane feels anything but horror and anger at the suffering being inflicted on the people of Ukraine.

Ukraine could have sent almost anything and the People would have wanted to support you.

Не вижу в этом ничего плохого учиттья у самых лучших. Это скорее одна школа и музыкальная традиция. Я смотрела другие его видео,где он самовыражается и поёт песни других исполнителей в режиме музыкального экстпромта. У этого парня широкий диапазон и он легко импровизирует. Я думаю ему определено блестящее будущее,и публика его должна любить за его голос талант и харизму. Для меня лично на Евровидении он в большом отрыве от других номер один.

Why such a belief that if not for Ukraine, then Sam would win? He was only fifth in the public vote. The huge number of votes people gave for Ukraine could just as well go to Moldova, Spain, Serbia, which the public has liked better. He was good, but I doubt that he would win if Ukraine didn't participate.
