Joey handled this with class and maturity. Love him!
Charity's Mom was wise to not choose a side. I predict Charity and Dotun will be like Trista and Ryan. They will totally make it. Mark my words.
Disagree. They come from two different cultures. This will not work
They wont
@@dianasimeon1386, both grew up in America. I don't see your thinking, sorry.
People from different cultures can work out if there is an openness to appreciating and understanding both cultures.@@dianasimeon1386
As soon as I saw Joey, I knew he would be the next Bachelor. He totally had that polished bachelor makeover they always give them. He looked good!
If she picked Joey, Tanner definitely wouldve been the next Bachelor. He looks like the classic bachelor along with some possible drama.
@@sq3004 who Is Tanner?
Dotun was so nervous at the family meeting! I don't know what swag they saw or prejudged 🤷♀️
Yes! I didn’t get it at all.
She apparently has a type and Dotun fits the bill.
@@qusanbut she said Xavier was her type and Dotun and Xavier are very different personalities
Exactly..
@@RightStickRob They are very different but initially they fit a similar profile. Same with Aaron.
Thank you Dave for continuing to remember the families and the sadness Hawaii is feeling for the families burned to a crisp embracing each other in their homes.
Joey seems nice but he is so one dimensional. and he always seems to be trying to say just the right things. i hope we see more of his personality when he is the bachelor
The giiiirrlll “ she don’t know” reference killed me 🤣🤣🤣 the audio hhahahah
Charity's Mom mentioned that Dotun was similar to the men she dated in the past. According to Charity, these relationships didn't work out. So I'm interested to see how this is going to go.
Yeah that threw me, because he really doesn’t seem like a player at all, which is what I felt like she was getting at.
Maybe she meant the height lol. Am probably just reaching. Pun intended.
He has shown nothing but kindness and his family says that he is faithful. She doesn't know him or his history to be able to compare at such a deep level. Maybe she dated mostly back men.
Her mom was giving Charity’s dated black guys before and let’s just judge this guy that I don’t even know odd
Why was Peter the Pilot’s parents there and why did they get so much camera time ??
Chartiy and Dotun 🥂🌹💍
Joey didn't seem to be that broken up. These last 3 all handled themselves with such class. I think it all worked out for the best.
I didn't see where Joey was really that much in to Charity. His somewhat nonchalant reaction was no surprise imo.
his eyes looked red in the hot seat, i think the producers suggested he stay strong so he can be the next bachelor
What!? On the way to the car he had that bubble holding his breath moment and then he cried in the car. He was beginning to tear up when she was turning him down and when he looked at the recap with everyone his eyes were red like they were in the car. When he saw Charity for the first time after the rejection his eyes were dilated and his body language was open to her. He seems to STILL be in love with her but he's respectful to Dotun. I have looked at it, rewind and looked at it again. He was not faking and I wanted to find that he was faking so I could feel she made the right choice, but no, he was not faking.
I am very happy with the outcome of this season. I think Charity and Dotun will make it longterm. Them choosing each other was the right choice.
I hope Joey finds his true love too.
Popcorn ceilings had me rolling 😂
Dave, you have excellent points; Yes, 100% she made the right choice. I always thought it would be Charity and Dotun. They have excellent communication skills, and Charity and Dotun have what it takes for a successful long-term relationship.
I thought it was Beutiful and Joey will be an awesome bachelor ❤
I appreciate the formality and the jokes were popping this morning, thanks Dave! 🎉 😉
Yea
I was waiting for either Layah or Joey to say something about Hawaii and the fires, or even Jesse Palmer as the host to acknowledge it, but I was disappointed that nobody did. It could've easily been brought up.
But other than that, I'm glad that Charity chose Dotun. I'm happy that the Bachelor is finally celebrating Black love! ❤
(Although, I was very sad that it was Joey that stepped out of the van first at the proposal site).
Wasn't the finale filmed weeks ago tho?
its live, men tell all is filmed prior ro airing @@katieholmgren186
@@katieholmgren186 No, the studio part was live on Monday.
Ugh. Then yeah, no excuse 😒
Yay! First to post. Been subscribed to your channel for a few months ❤!
They seemed extremely and authentically happy to me.
I didn't get to watch the finale.. you spared me 3 hours. Thank you, Dave. Great recap!
It's worth the watch. Watch it!
But WHY was Barb there?!
Peter went to paradise 😂
She paid her seat to be there
And dragged her poor, long-suffering husband with her lol. Barb is a latina "drama-mama" who loves attention!
Yes. She made the right choice ❤❤
😂😂
Dotun seemed more nervous and she with him. But apparently they had goofy play time which they didn't air because she told that to her sister. The part I didn't like or worry for Charity is how sge couldn't make up her mind at the 1159 hour and she was putting it on her mom to decide. If you could flip a coin, you shouldn't be engaged to either. Too indecisive.
Dotun was my first choice, so glad she picked him. Her mother…her reaction was muted. Definitely not the same as Dotun’s mother when she met Charity.
I was wrong, I didn’t expect her to pick him at all even though he was my choice. I wish them the best and hope they don’t put their relationship on social media. It’s for the best.
Charity chose Dotun they look so happy together!!!
I am quite disappointed they chose the obvious guy instead of giving us something different.
There’s no Asian bachelor lead still & I really wanted John B to be first!
@@trudytriad4574 Latino??? Huh?
@@trudytriad4574 he is white though & I’m just saying about time we got an Asian bachelor. You need to relax, yourself.
😂
My husband had to renovate a big 9:41 house with all popcorn ceilings (and make them smooth). Total nightmare
We found it perplexing why they didn’t take the opportunity to recognize the Hawaiian fire tragedy too! And perplexed as to why they’d send Charity & Dotun to Greece where they’re now dealing with so many devastating fires as well… hopefully they can delay their trip.
Can you do a video on who was picked to date Joey? I fell asleep they kept teasing after commercials.
How many people looked up when you said "popcorn ceiling"? haha
Thank you for saving me three-hours, as Hulu has not streamed the program yet, and now I don't care ...moving on with my day! 😀
I still want to watch It though and I'm really irritated that it's not on hulu yet. 😫
@@jenniferhansen3622 I signed up for a trial live stream so I could watch it without the media telling me who won.
@@sq3004It's streaming on there now. I already knew this spoilers, but I still wanted to watch. 😊
From the moment this show began there has never been a beautiful black couple shine. Finally we have a black Bachelorette. Now we need a black bachelor. And I don't count the guy who snuck and chose a racist
You coulda done this recap in 2 minutes! 😀
🤣I will never get tired of the Madi Prew clip 🤣"Ya, but does he have, like, like, this swag!?"
"Girrrrl, she don't know" Love it!
Although Charity’s mom was very diplomatic - at least on-camera - she made an important observation: both Dotun and Joey came from different “cultures” than Charity. Given the two choices, she may have been concerned about which union, in the long haul, would create less culture shock; face fewer barriers related to communication, expectations, and understanding; and require less adjustment for Charity and the family. I wonder, if Xavier had handled his “ true confessions” more maturely, would Mom might have received Xavier a lot more favorably than Dotun? 0:07 Of course, from the beginning, Charity herself had preconceived notions (and perhaps stereotypes) about Xavier that she might not have been able to overcome.
BTW, I found the whole bit about Dotun’s parents returning from Africa just to meet Charity was a bit contrived….
What if they bring Zach’s number 2 pick I forgot her name but she was totally ruined. And make her the Bachelorette?
Hope she's healing and doing great!
Gabby. I hope she's on paradise!
LOL ~ you just saved me 3 hours I didn't want to lose watching this after all the spoilers. Also, I've been a life coach since 2011. You're 100% on that one. :) (Hey, I have a couple graduate degrees in psychology to back it up but still ... 'life coach' has a vibe even I don't like). Another great one Dave!
From the moment Dotun stepped out of the limo and introduced himself to Charity, the chemistry between the two was undeniable. However, odds are this relationship will be like all the other made-for-tv relationships -- these two won't last more than six months. 💯
Here's my real issue with the Joey selection as bachelor. I finally realize how the game is played. The show knows their audience, they also know their racist audience and panders to them. When they chose Charity as bachelorette, no one for 1 sec ever thought she would choose a black man as the winner. If they did, they wouldn't have selected her. Fastforward to the show being filmed. They knew the outcome so they intentionally tried to sabotage her rating by moving the slot to 9pm. Something I believe has never happened in 20 years of the show. They figured their main fanbase would not be invested in a black love story but when the season was still getting views and fans were complaining because they knew it was done on purpose, they moved it back to 8pm. It was always gonna be Joey because the fact that Charity had this white man competing against 3 black men and then for him to lose to an African man, was gonna piss their main audience off so to cushion the blow for them the gave Joey that redemptive moment by making him bachelor. Like I said Dotun would have to lose for John to be bachelor. My gripe with it is, if you wouldnt have given it to a broken hearted Dotun, you shouldn't give it to a broken hearted Joey either. Its all politics and I hate that. I wish Joey the best but im passing on this next season. The franchise/ decision makers will never get it, they're the problem.
Wouldnt racists want charity to pick a black man?
They did something similar on Michelle Young's season. 3 biracial men to choose from yet they choose Clayton as the Bachelor. If Charity had picked Joey, they wouldve found someone white to be the Bachelor, Tanner or Bradon for the drama and the views. I agree, they likely choose Charity becuase they hoped and believed she would pick a white man. Charity is also a black swan and people genuinely fell in love with her whole demanor and vibe. Plus she's nice and slim and doesnt look fake. I love black love, but Joey was also a real sweetheart, I wouldve been happy to see them together either way.
The viewership have been steadily going down regardless of race. Was it to "sabotage" Charity's season? Doubt it. Would John be the Bachelor if Dotun lost? Doubt it. Dotun would probably be the next Bachelor unless he turned it down.
@@sirsteve8999 lmao you've got to be kidding me they barely want black leads on their show and you actually think they would let an African man be the bachelor??? You're joking right. They only choose black leads their white audience can stomach. Matt James was a mixed race man who episode one told the world yes his skin is black but he is white too and made sure they paraded his beautiful white mom all throughout the season. Dont be delusional they definitely tried to sabotage her because in 20 seasons of the bachelorette and 27 season of the bachelor they never moved the time except for Charity's season. Part of the problem is not realizing there is one.
@@sq3004I mostly agree with you. EXCEPT: (1) after the Matt James disaster, much of which they created, I still think it will be a long time before they pick another Black Bachelor. They mishandled and miscalculated everything about Matt’s season - and let all their racist stereotypes of black men show in the process. In fact, I don’t trust them to select or handle a Black Bachelor. (2) It’s doubtful that, whomever Charity picked - a Black man or a White man - they went into Charity’s season aiming to have back to back Black Bachelor/Bachelorette seasons. My guess is that, from the beginning, they were only scouting for viable White candidates. Therefore, from that season the only viable candidates were Joey, Brayden and Tanner (who we barely saw and still don’t know how he went so far.) Other than the recently heartbroken Joey, those were slim pickings!
Did Charity make the right choice....hmmm, I think not and that's why she was crying so hard when she said goodbye to Joey.. Her Mom, Dad and sister loved Joey and was ready to welcome him into the family.
Glad she is outtie.
I could care less about the bachelorette and I'm Glad they were cut off due to NFL game, now they'll know how those of us that watch Claim to Fame feel when it doesn't come on because the Bachelorette goes for 2hrs
She should have picked Joey, dotun is boring. Dotun and charity just don’t work. Charity parents did like him better
Well after watching charity’s mom segment, I really think dotun and charity are doomed. Her mom knows somethings not right! You could see right through her 💯.
She just saw what he looked like and made a prejudgement. I think they will be fine.
I disagree. Her mom had a feeling and it was so obvious. I hope the best for them but I truly think her mama was right.
Time will tell. I wonder if the mother's reaction would be the same if she met Dotun first.
I'm hoping that Dotun isn't Charity's usual type. Charity's mother saw something in him she wasn't pleased with. You have to trust a mother's instinct. My siblings and I wouldn't get serious with some we were dating until our mother met them. Her radar was uncanny.
Patty- I agree with you 100%
