A question we often get is whether or not a customer should modify their classic Chevy. We live in 21st century and the answer to that question today is quite different then it was 25 or 30 years ago. When the hobby began to take off, you could almost inevitably say - the greater value was in keeping the car bone stocked original. But as the cars aged, so did their drivers, and they got used to having new cars with all their modern conveniences.
Consequently, the hobby adapted to this shift which means that the value of a car is not hurt by these common creature comforts that make driving a car much more enjoyable. Things like: power steering, power windows, disc brakes air conditioning, or some kind of a sound system - those are the options that are most often desired. You can also upgrade with new engines or cooling systems and the list just goes on and on. The real question that you have to ask yourself is what you want to get out of your car. Are you trying to sell it or keep it? Do you want a museum piece or an everyday driver? Once you answer those questions, then you'll know which direction you should choose.
