at 0:18 that taxi driver thanked u and then pointed to the people running for the taxi so u didnt miss them
nice ppl
Gotta respect the effort he puts in. Going back over the days recordings and following each route on the map 👏🏼
Bet it's a ballache
Hey same pfp
@@Dynamikcheese nah he enjoys it. That’s why he does it
@@MrSeananners12345 bet its still a ballache
It’s like a personal diary, you jog your memory to recall your days 👍
That sponsored segment was spot on 🤣
I LOVE how not only do we see Tom picking and dropping people off but he also gives us a tour of London!
It's just how my brain works when I'm out driving 😊
feels like the movie Slumdog Millionaire, like if anyone has any doubts about if I know where I'm going, the history of everything we can see is always in my back pocket.
'...the yellow Ferrarri that's always parked there ..' - immediately checked Street View, and it's in just about every shot since 2015 !!
10/10 sponsor integration
A few weeks back I witnessed some odd rank etiquette, someone had exited M&S Oxford St and was standing at the north end of bus stop in Orchard St with a large amount of shopping. No taxi would stop, and would point to the rank at the other end of the bus stop, and taxis on the rank would not pull forward to the other end of the bus stop. It ended with a south bround driver having words with the first cab on the rank, who moved forward to pick them up.
I have no idea how you manage to work as a cabbie plus all the online stuff you do. The editing along must take hours. Love it, thank you.
My dad refers to Thursday’s as “Thirsty Thursday’s”
Also I completely agree with you that Waterloo Bridge has the best view in London!
That's a good one! Will have to use that!
Mate, these shift videos are mega. Keep em coming. My aim in life is to get in your cab 😂
Google maps useful when travelling to areas you're unfamiliar with, but you soon become aware of how cranky it can be when you know the area - particularly when it re-routes without warning!
The mystery borough we all love sooo very much😂😂I just love your route talk it's the reason I always use the black cabs when visiting London. The Knowledge is worth it's weight in gold, another great video
He should put the meter price on screen each time he completes a job
You are one of the reasons why I am doing the knowledge i also driver Uber and bus driver.
thank you
Best time to do it, works been great recently but we need new blood in the trade. Best of luck to you 👍🏼
@@paulies5407 thank you for being so positive i have few driver said work is dead. But I have never listened any
Work is far from dead. Best it’s been in years. Complete the K and it’s life changing. Best job (Not job) in the world.
Fascinating to see the streets of London from your perspective. I drive the 453s among a number of other central bus routes and you're right about the traffic lights southbound on Portland Place / Upper Regent Street; always out of sequence.
I use to do the 12s. Can be a nightmare coming out of cavendish place. Left 3 months ago to be Taxi Driver. 🙂
Good work Tom. It's really good to see a young fellow taking pride in driving.
i'm loving these videos. I'm flying to london in september from australia (urgh.. 25 hours in a plane) and these videos are making me exicited
Loving the video! Great way of seeing [and learning about] London without stepping foot out of the door! Only been to London for Christmas shopping (by coach) so I find this entertaining and educational!
Keep up the great work Tom!
Love this - on every level. So professionally done - and interesting. Thank you!
A pleasure to watch how your day goes by Tom. It's great to see how you plan your journeys through all the busy streets and going down side streets to arrive at to your customer's destination. London site-seeing by taxi is magic, and thank you for producing this fantastic video.
Love these videos Tom, great commentary as always 👍🏽
Abso bloody lutely magic! I love these videos watching you work, and your commentaries are so clear and informative! Brilliant. Well done and all the best :)
Great video as always Tom! Definitely going to hail some cabbies like yourself next time I'm in London on my holidays!
Keep these videos coming tom! They're my favourite!
LOVE THE SHIFT VIDEOS KEEP IT UP TOM
Love these videos! Such an interesting to see authentic London on these virtual tours. Here are some automotive highlights for the tragic petrolheads like myself...
05:37 Rolls Royce Phantom 'J4VED'
05:54 Ferrari 458 Speciale
07:27 AC Shelby Cobra 427 (probably replica)
12:01 VW Beetle
always disappointed when he doesnt realise/acknowledge the beauties he passes
Another really informative vid. Well done mate!
Nice one as always, I'm enjoying my London dose from your channel. Keep it up.
So much effort in these videos! Very impressive work in and out of the cab.
Hehe, wonderful...🙂I ve been to London several times, absolutely love that city, and at one time a friend of mine and I tried to rent a car. The sales clerk at Avis managed to talk us out of it, and looking back (and at your footage) Im glad. And btw Im absolutely blown away not only from Your knowledge of the roads, but also Your knowledge about the history and culture. I wish I was good enough to pass The Knowledge. Cheers from small town Oslo... 🙂
Love watching your videos, interesting journeys with neat lil facts. I like the small segues too :D
Big fan of the yfood plug in this one Tom, keep up the good work
This is a really great video! Shows how difficult it really is. Nice work.
Great vid like the extra bits of history you put in 👍
Hi Tom, another great video, keeps em coming. Wish i had your knowledge when I'm in London, alas i have to use the satnav and totally agree with the comments you make, it ain't easy. Look forward to the next one. 👍
Tom THANK YOU for sharing your absolutely amazing knowledge of London and your fascinating work day with us - honestly world class. As a loyal fan of the iconic London Licensed Black Cab trade for nearly 40 years now I have so much respect for you and your cabbie "family". Big love my friend 💯👏
Love your videos,Done the knowledge years ago for 9 months but was running a business at the same time became difficult to do.
Was an experience i shall never forget, And the knowledge can be done Just never give up,i had to was in East Sussex at the time having moved from London so only weekend was free to do the knowledge but time you got to London and back time was limited.
So i became a licenced hackney Taxi in East Sussex past 7 years now and i LOVE It.
RESPECT To ALL London Taxi Drivers.
THE BEST.
These shift videos are the best keep em coming
Great video Tom. Enjoy your historical knowledge very interesting
My old uni digs at 8:31, International Hall. When I first moved in it was still a normal car traffic road, the pedestrian development was just finished when I left. My first digs at 8:42, Garden Halls. Cost an arm and a leg but the loan just about covered it. Memories!
Tom, your knowledge is staggering, best taxi driver :)
I lived right round the corner from that food place! Definitely will visit!
Great vid. That looks like a pretty big day!
Love your vids mate ,need more 🔥
Turning circle on that cab is insane
Loool what a good video Tom! Nice incorporated adv, high class drug deal, phonecall by the lights...
Keep it up 🙂
I like the fact you make the sponsor section fun! :)
Hit 100k miles yet? Loving the videos and newsletter Tom, keep it up!
I've seen the TX E in Cologne this week, seeing it in the German taxi-colour was a true mindfuck. Awesome video Tom, those are really my favourites
These work videos are the best.
0:20 Love how the cabbie signals to you there's a job there.
Awesome video, you work extremely hard!
7:08 I know most of you won't care, but there is a super rare AC Cobra on the left side of the road, only 998 were ever made.....
He even drove next to it at 7:27 if you want a better look
You guys can use the bus lanes and restricted roads Google maps will avoid those
Really interesting shift & video
Just came back from a very pleasant Platinum Jubilee week in London. As a big fan of your channel and content, I tell you, I looked into each cab to see if I could possibly spot Tom, the famous, Taxi Driver.
Of course, I couldn't, London's just too big.
But anyhow, thank you for your tours and explanations, they already bring back so many good memories. I also visited some places due to your videos, like the Pineapple Palm at Millbank/Lambeth Bridge.
A very big thanks to you, fine Sir (and for the reminder of your mailing list).🚕💛💂♂️
More shift videos please, really like them.
I thought that was boris when he first approached you about food😂 thanks for the upload Tom really enjoy these vids ✌️❤️
very interesting and your knowledge is impressive
Hilton Kensington - Marriott has a hotel in the Gloucester Road area called the Marriott Kensington, & their arch-rivals Hilton couldn't let that one slip.
If I had a hotel there, I would probably call it the Royal Crescent Hotel.
The site was previously occupied by a trade exhibition hall called Holland Park Hall.
I completely agree with you on the traffic lights opposite the BBC building. You never get a clear run there, you always get caught at either one or the other.
Loving the videos Tom! Great job as always! Btw I'm curious if you've ever ranked at London City airport and what the process is like for cabbies compared to Heathrow?
3.30 high class "drug deal" you crack me up with that one. 4.09 Mr Ocado parks the van at the traffic lights to make a phone call.
5.50 Mr MiniCab driver doing what he knows best "blocking the road then dropping off his passenger thus blocking any passing traffic.
I thought the other day how quiet Fetter Lane area was. It has never recovered
Confession Tom! I’ve dropped off at the Brook street road works and advised walking, obviously a no no with a wheel chair.
Lindybeige, Jason Foreman, Adam Ragusea, and now, Tom the Taxi Driver!
Real gentleman
You got me with the advertisement Tom, fell for it :p
Short but sweet 👍🏻 nice one Ollie keep them coming could not pull Langton street ( I should off Iv worked down that Rd ) 🤦🏼🤣
Ollie?
@@TomtheTaxiDriver so Sorry Tom i fellow a new CZcamsr Ollie the taxi driver!! 🤦🏼🤦🏼
6:13 that hail is looking a bit mad 🤨
Hi Tom great video as always but when are the POV’s coming back? 🤔 used to love watching them
Good promotion for our trade Tom 👌
very good brand integration
When you said there's a high class drug deal going on it jogged my memory to ask what the craziest things you've ever seeing while in the taxi be a cool video to watch and I've seeing that calfeezy has being doing a couple of taxi videos be cool to try and get a collab with some youtubers from London be really cool aswell love the videos.
I just bought the watchdogs legion game and I can tell the map it’s so identical to the real London, only some changes and chopped roads but it’s interesting how they recreate the city so well, sometimes I do the same routes as you did here (but in the game obviously). Great video bro, greetings from Mexico City 🤩
He has a video about that game where he drives around the city using his knowledge from real life.
Be doing this with my Uber work very soon 👍
15:18 Building on the left is Sainsbury’s Head Quarters
I took an Uber from Richmond to Whitton and it was £10. I took a taxi and it was £22. Both on weekdays.
The investors paid the other tenner of your fare for you. So the driver could afford to feed his family. When the money dries up you will see how expensive the scum apps are to keep up with running costs losing billions a year.
Ive always found uber cheaper and more convenient for where i live.
14:40 city to waterloo and the one from waterloo to is park plaza in vauxhall are classic journeys where public transport is also quite viable but the passenger prefers comfort over £
Yes City to Waterloo is usually someone who has stayed in the office a few hours later than expected and you can tell that when they get in the cab, it is a huge relief ☺️
Hey Tom! Do you still do airport pickups? :) Love your videos from Hong Kong!
I thought about you last week when they had rail service shut down (strikes). I bet you were SWAMPED! I hope you are doing well, Tom!
that ad spot 😂
Tom you prove so many times why sat nav is useless to a London Cabbie when you react immediately to the destination the customer gives you
No time to set a sat nav
Just use Your Brain
The Knowledge Is Power 🚕🚕🚕
16:02 as a regular passenger on the 521 bus, we're not keen on taxis dropping there either! But if that's what the customer wants ...
I loved the cheeky promo conversation during the video for YFOOD 🤣 Tom there's an acting career in for you mate, if taxi work begins to bore you
Really enjoyed this video which I found accidentally. My brother-in-law is a black cab driver in London and this was really informative. Nice seeing the streets of London again, especially my old manor LBC the borough I still love but you apparently not so much.. ;-)
LOL at that yfood advert. taxi tom's "posh" accent.. hahaha
Fair play pulling out Sekforde street that lively 👍🏻
Always remember it as it was a neat cut through to take the corner off St John Street. Sadly we lost it during covid.
Big fan from Alberta but worked in London..Connaught Hotel, Grosvenor House.
Praed St..home of Morenos Wine.
London is like playing on the OTT extra difficult video game mode - living in the rest of the UK is a lot easier, and just as rewarding
amazing video :)
Thank you!
1:00 perfect example of Highway Code rule H2. 👌
H3 at 15:18 also
@@TomtheTaxiDriver haven't got that far yet...
I work as a hgv driver doing central London deliveries, hope to bump into you one day.
that journey to King's Cross is where The Knowledge comes to the fore
I’ve got a complaint, before watching your brilliant videos I never said the word “wiggle” but now I’m wiggling all the time…… your fault lol
A yellow Ferrari you've got a nice set if wheels there lol
Totally different to how it works up norf, especially being a private hire driver.
Top job Tom. Is your cab full electric or does it run on diesel and then have electric over-ride? You sure know your way round the big smoke !!!!!!
Fred Housego won Mastermind in 1980. Have you ever considered giving it a go?
