Hi Tom the thing i have in my cab which comes in useful is 2 long cables apple / android type for passengers who dont have a fully charged phone or laptop . i have it plugged in the front and passed through payment window . just in case they decide to keep the cable they appreciate it as well . not doing bottled water or sweets yet though 😂
Wasn't aware Heathrow was one out one in. Any thinking that TFL/Heathrow may start imposing a minimum number of entries to Heathrow per year to ensure you are using the tag?
Hi Tom hope your well I have one of those cordless keyboards flr my laptop that I use for editing my own CZcams videos only down side it takes 2 AAA batteries the mouse takes 1 AA not that I mind as I've only changed the 1 AA 3 times in 2 years the other 2 need changing now as I was editing my citylink M90 video and it wasn't responding properly I'm out filming this week so must remember to buy some
Nice video Tom a 👍from me. Question for you, maybe a video idea. Would you rather work hard for a week to relax the next week or work only during busy times to increase money/hour and relax more during the day?
It generally doesn't work that way. I.e. working 2x the amount of hours doesn't equal 2x the money. Working too long one day screws up the next day in terms of energy levels and efficiency. Therefore like everything in life, I'm an advocate for consistent working. Diet, Gym, Finances etc, You have must better results if you constantly chip away at it, rather than going hard one day and then having to stop to regain energy.
Do you not keep air freshener in your Taxi Tom? Surely you must get some soap dodging passengers?? 😖 New to your channel and loving it, regularly visit London and will always choose a black cabbie over Uber, so great to get an insight into your daily lives 😊
Always suspected that the PayPal and square card terminals cabbies hold up to the screen were sketchy. I reckon 80% of the time I get offered that rather than the fixed machine, but not license approved.
Nothing sketchy about them, but TfL just like to ensure that customers get a printed receipt, approved provider that they can back. The printed receipt show badge number etc so it's also helpful for lost property. But some customers don't like printed receipt as it will show a tip itemised (some companies don't have a tip allowance)
@@TomtheTaxiDriver why do so many drivers use the handheld/ phone ones over the fixed ones then? I'm curious, seems to be a recentish thing. Maybe lower fees than the TfL approved list?

Great video - a.lot of useful gear to stow away, a couple of which I’ll put in my other car, the XJ Portfolio, it has a lot of stowage lockers up forward. What you said about water is very important - tha recommended daily intake of at least 1 litre is I find adequate for someone my age, and I don’t count any sugary supplements. Just plain speaking mineral water, is what prefer. Coffee for me, is all about the flavour - I never drink instant, or use milk or sugar. I am also a single malt aficionado, though this takes years to understand & how to enjoy it without ruining your health or going bankrupt!

I love sparkling water as well, I can’t get enough of it but I do find that it is too fizzy in this country. In Germany, Austria and the Netherlands, it’s possible to buy at different levels of fizz. So, I end up mixing it with tapwater to reduce the bubbles. I suppose, if I bought a SodaStream I would have total control on the amount of gas in the water? Plan!

I must admit I couldn't be a taxi driver I take my hat of roo you . Especially in London with all the traffic . It must be hard not to loose your temper Evey other second with the way some people drive .these days .
@@TomtheTaxiDriver its an optional plugin you can download, it only shows you the image for a fraction of a second then you have to guess (no time limit to guess once the screen goes dark, its really fun and challenging 😀
Written receipt is no good in Norway. Only printed receipt with price, date, time, distance, driving time, vat, driver number, cab company. No Ipad? Oh dear. Most important in my car. Credit card cost us less than 0,5% with each transaction.
That brush is terrible. Left more bristles in the car than what’s left on the brush. Trouble with Amazon I bet mine is completely different from yours even though I clicked your link.
If you put something in your window, to show that you're English (a flag or a cross [Christian] work, but there could be other symbols), I GUARANTEE you that you'll get more customers. The "new" drivers are cold to passengers, often wearing headphones, to avoid engaging with their passengers, and, for this reason, I no longer take black cabs. However, I used to take them all the time! I don't want to pay a lot of money to a hostile driver, but will pay for a traditional driver and I am NOT unique; I'm just a normal person. I've walked miles and miles during tube-strikes and seen black cabs sail by, but I don't know whether I'm going to get a proper driver, or one of those meanies wearing headsets.
The first thing you learn when doing the knowledge is fail to prepare then prepare to fail, good to see you've kept that philosophy alive.

In Oz the taximeter prints a receipt for a passenger irrespective if they pay by cash or card.
My older CMT system used to do that. It’s largely because we have different meter systems from card systems, only a few actually talk with each other

London cabbies tend to work on their own rather than for a company and get ether work on the street or a tank rather than through a taxi company

Yes! One of the best things with the soda stream is being able to choose your sparkle level.
