You don't need to reset the bleed system since you didn't do a fire test, also you can start the alingment as soon as the first engine's generator comes online
Not only that, You can do the shift+home and ralt+home the moment the engine reaches 10% RPM

I was wondering that since in the in-game tutorial I either skipped that step or did it wrong and it didn't mess anything up. That step always threw me off a ton

Apparently some people (like myself, I discovered today) are experiencing a bug with INS alignment in GND and CV modes where the INS just never aligns. For the time being apparently setting the INS to 'NAV' first is the fix for that, rather than waiting for alignment in 'GND' or 'CV.' I'm not sure what that does to the accuracy of the INS, but it's probably not good. As I understand it, it's been a known bug since earlier this year.
Is this still a thing just bought the plane?

Is there a trick to getting the wheel brakes to work on the ground ? I have to use the emergency brake to stop while taxing ? I already set the joystick trigger in the setup menu.
I know how to setup the a/c from cold and dark. But how to add all the camera views and other joystick features? Seems like the Logitech Extreme 3D is missing a bunch of keybindings... is there a keybinding file I can import that will have most common features?

This is probably a dumb question but when I’m selecting buttons with the mouse as a crosshair why can’t I free look it’s just a fixed position? And I have to hit the number keys to snap to a spot

For some reason I remember that you should start from left engine because connected to more systems. I can be wrong.
Since you're there better to turn on IFF and D/L.
According to the DCS manual and the NATOPS checklist, Right engine first.
i like to start from the right because it enables ur parking brake for safty :D
Already know the F16 ,purchased it in DCS.
F16 is missing too many features
So I am learning the F/A18. I am very excited to do some carrier stuff but a lot to relearn.
There are some things that can be done quicker in startup. I recommend reading through the comments because what Cap did in 3 minutes can be cut down to maybe 2. Some waiting wasn't required and neither were some of the actions.

How should that SAI be "uncaged". By rolling the knob says every tutorial and manual, but how it works. Turn the knob to where, and does it effect to somewhere else in the plane, and if so how. Dont really understand the meaning of rolling that and cage / uncage. How _should_ I set in on startup? OR just roll it "somewhere"? Does it "smell" its zero point automatically?
so dis all that.but the Hud doesnt display anything. if i turn on the head mount display and turn my head i can see stuff but if im fscing forward theres nothing ..am i missing something

Hey Cap,is the a-10c very hard and does the a-10a have a tpod.
A-10c pretty hard yes and A does not have a TPod.
I keep running into a problem with my nose wheel steering not being available. Every time that I auto start my FA-18, NWS is not available and when I use the key command "a" or "s" to turn it on it does not work. When I manual do a cold start I have NWS available but only about 80% of the time. Is there a bug... or am I just missing something? Thanks for any recommendations.
It's been a while since I checked it out but isn't there a NWS button you can press on the left knee area? somewhere neat the gear handle? Turn that on.
@@grimreapers I will look next time I am on but I do not recall a button that is accessible in the cockpit of the FA-18.
i am also trying to figure out why sometimes NWS already shows once my startup is complete, and other times not.
but whenever it is not running, i am able to activate it with S key.
but I don't seem to be able to remove NWS once activated.
@@shakisshenanigans6305 I have default controls and when I press A, NWS turns off for me.
Hey having a issue with the throttles not going to IDLE like need for the engines to crank and startup. Suggestions? Thank you for the videos!
go into ADJUST CONTROLS and make sure you have the control set up correctly to uncage/idle the throttles.

you put on the ecm to standby .to my knowledge the ecm is still not implemented .is that changed now ?

Hi, I have the F18C and I keep having the same issue with rear stabilizers who keep on pointing up hard at 24 degrees as shown on the FCS. This happens at low speed and I cannot get them to go back at an acceptable angle and the plane just keeps on stalling. This happens even if I put the burners on. I tried cycling the flaps from auto to full but this has no effect. Is this a problem you know? I find it very weird and I just cannot understand how this could be a normal feature on real F18 planes.

@@LtDogoop Yes, ED contacted me as well and they said I had to modify some options in the gameplay settings. Now that it's done I can fly the Hornet!

its suppost to be more than 5 min when alignment is like 0.5 its ok you can go to nav mode aligning takes a long time

true, at the end of the day they would want it to be quick and as effortless as possible so the pilots can do it quickly and under stress if they need to scramble or w/e. Makes sense. When does the space shuttle reentry module come out? i'd pay 100 bucks for that

I just do Left Windows key + Home Key
I paid for the buttons, I'm gonna use my buttons. Lmao. Seriously though, L Windows + Home is a lifesaver if you're just looking to put hours flying in after learning cold start.

It looks complicated to start, but the f16 is slightly easier
that 8 minute ins alignment turned me off and i wish i didnt let it tbh but im having good times in the hornet
