Good to see Blake. He looks so happy.
If I wasn't 70 years old, I would love to have a horse. Kindness and her colt Apache Gold would be a wonderful addition to someone who has lots of space and time for them.

I have trained horses, I have no idea what someone would pay for a trained reservation mustang. I have had mustangs and they are great horses. I live in North Florida and would love to give them a home, but I already have four horses that I haven’t finished training, I’m 70 years old and I don’t have the strength or energy to train consistently. I pray that someone will get those two horses and give them the love and training they deserve. I love you and your family and what you do with the horses.
When I was younger I wanted to become a TIP trainer for the Mustangs because they’re such great horses, but when I retired I had worked myself practically to death, working full time and being a caregiver for my mother. It hit me hard when she went to Heaven and I still haven’t recovered from working so hard that I ended up on disability after I retired.
Kix 66 looks amazing! So nice to have Kix back for a few months.

Well, Apache Gold definitely added a few grey hairs to Kindness 🤣 both she and baby are beautiful…and I would agree with an unpedigreed, well trained horse, pulling in $5000 to $9000 thousand as another commentator stated…. loved seeing Blake and his message. Thanks for sharing the journey.

Alan... Another thing about reservation horses, they usually don't need monthly shoes. That saves a bunch of money right there. Maybe just a trim once a month or so, but not shoes, so mention that. You sure are getting some nice horses your way. I don't think it would take much to train this little mare. My grandad got horses off the rez for us kids. He told us to get on! He'd hold the lead rope while the horse buckeda few times, then we went riding down the road while the horse got his crow hopping out of him and then we did anything on them we wanted with a little work. Kix looks amazing. So good to see Blake. He sure is looking like your oldest son. Dang. I know I know his name but I'm having a senior moment! I apologize.

The foal is having the time of his life so funny and mom keeps an eye on him. Hope they get a good home.Ya heard the Mustangs are very hardy, strong hooves and legs. Lovely horses.
I knew a gal who worked all her life riding and training horses for high end dressage and jumping competitions. She ended up with a Navaho horse. He ended up successfully competing in dressage at higher levels as well as jumping. And it was the grandkids horse when they were visiting . But more than that he was her heart horse and horse of choice to ride especially as she grew older.
That little colt certainly has energy

Boy, that Apache Gold is FULL of himself!! No wonder his mama is worried about him!! I wonder if her previous baby wandered off like that. I hope you can find them a good home. Doesn't make them worth less because they are wild horses. As you said, they are tough horses. I think that's a huge value in itself. I think it's wonderful that you rescue these horses and call people's attention to them. My daughter's best friend bought a horse like this years ago and she really enjoyed him (& now she's a vet!). God bless you in your efforts.
Glad to see and hear from Blake. Just love Kindness and Apache Gold! I'd love to take them both, but am needing to get my acreage fenced atm. Kindness is so pretty! Fun to see Blake. We are picking up our Granddaughter Hailey up at the SLC Airport Monday from Houston spanish speaking mission. Going to be fun with a huge crowd. I think from my old memory, Blake should be not far behind. It sure goes fast

Regarding cost of a trained horse, as I don’t train horses, I would say yes,$5k for a trained one is worth it.
Apache is a little stinker and he is gorgeous and is Kindness!! Good luck finding a good loving home.

I hope you had a Happy Father's Day, Alan! Based on zero experience what-so-ever, except watching a lot of various horse channels (lol!) I think Loverboy, already gelded, 3 months of training---ought to bring a good price. They have those "Mustang Make-Overs" or challenges, and the mustangs go to competition and are auctioned off at the end. He looked great in the photographs. Kix does look amazing too! so nice to see him as his yearling self. Apache Gold and Kindness---what a set!! That colt is a pistol!

That gate latch is an awesome.
We use to have a pool cleaning business in Phoenix but that year was one of the worst in history for sand storms. Clean a pool one day, sand storm undoes whatever we did. 😊

Best latch ever! And I have a friend like that. Also, we’ve known each other since kindergarten and we’re best friends all the way through high school then she moved but we went for 15 years without seeing each other. I was in a museum and I heard her laugh and I knew it was her. We are still friends through Facebook. I’m looking forward to watching the rest of your video just hearing the story and I really really like that latch.
Allen if it were me. I would find a 4H leader who could coach a kid as a project to get leading, loading, manners, grooming. Then put them in 30 days maybe.

Happy Fathers Day. I think Apache Gold shows endurance racing prospect! His mom looks like she has maybe some descendants of Arabian in her. I saw the other day about coconut oil ( the fatty acids in the oil is more effective at repelling pests than the chemical deterents like Deet.) It was great seeing Blake…the year has gone fast!🤠 🇨🇦

Is a reservation horse worth the effort ... if both the mental and physical health of the animal is good willingness to learn and join up with humans and the trust that comes from the Bond between the trainer/ owner too is absolutely worth it ! Alot of horses that are bred born in a barn , paddock and pasture are able to have positive exposure to we humans almost right away !
A Wild plains and mountain pony can come around with kindness and repetition.
Some have gone to long or may have had some really bad experiences I'm sure with humans and or other pet animals or wildlife and nature.
It's kinda like saying you can take the boy out the country but not the country out of the boy .. not necessarily it depends on THEIR.. personalities and want or need to have a different life ❤!
Some horses after good handling/ training attach to the trainer /owner ! They both need to understand what and where the other is coming from and going !😁 If that mare joins up with her person ..she'll run a desert and swim and ocean along with keeping her rider safec,samecwith that wee colt too ! If you question that answer look up the true story of Hidalgo!❤🐴💕
If I were younger , I'd want them ! With 30 days on that mare that's a GOOD start , tying ,a standing,grooming , farrier and a leg over not necessarily neck reigning but a good bend at the neck( flexation) and back up !❤

$1,000 for Kindness and Apache Gold is an absolute steal ...Kindness will train well and make a good dependable riding horse if not rushed ...and Apache Gold is worth at least $1,000....so $2,000 for the pair when she has babies like him would even be a good price

You hit that nail on the head. Horse prices. A reservation horse value. With training from someone like your brother Levi. For a horse with a real solid foundation. $5k all day long. Lots of non-pedigreed horses out there doing very well in a lot of disciplines. I'm sure there are a ton pf $1000 horses out there but the time and effort to get them where Loverboy will be. I guess value depends on the individual. Kixx looks good. Really surprised at his size.

Loverboy should start at $5,000 , I don’t know how much Levi gets to train a horse, so I don’t know if that’s worth it or not and you might not even get that much for him but it’s a good starting point cause he is still a grade horse, good luck with selling him 😊

Hey Alan are you ever going to look at the DNA of some of the Reservation Horses. I have been watching videos of the BLM Auctions and I see some I like, but they have all sorts of head shapes and mane and tail lengths. The reservation horses are they managed at all or do the Stallions do the managing
