If the existing code is dialed correctly they key should go all the way through the wheels. If the key is inserted through all wheels but not deep enough to turn the key, wiggle the key to ensure that it is fully engaged. In almost all cases the dial code and the keypad code should be the same string of numbers. Example for dialing 45-21-62 and 452162 on keypad.
Hi Doug, While it is not required to be the same code sequence, it is a good way to remember both the electronic code and the mechanical combination.

when I dial 50 to the change indicator and try to insert the key, the key will not go all the way in, and I can't put the rollers in unlock mode.
