Agreed! Everywhere I go it's same-o, same-o. I love your taste, advice and tips, however, there is more to life than jeans or slacks. In fact, skirts are very cool and comfortable. Please give us more skirt options to critique and consider. Many thanks for what you do.

I absolutely agree with cardigans for spring and even summer - particularly when thinking of work wear. My workplace is refrigerated to a miserable degree in spring and summer, with my female colleagues and I routinely shivering under blankets, huge cardigans , shawls, fingerless gloves, etc. The building engineer turns up in his workboots, shirt and coveralls and thinks we're crazy for complaining of cold. I haven't worn sandals or sleeveless outfits to work... I think ever. Just. too. damned. frigid.

I find a capsule wardrobe so helpful, and as I'm retired and don't have that many places to go in a day, it really works for me. A trench, as much as I like them , is not something that would work for my life, but I really love the way you show them. For my life, black slacks, black and blue jeans, a camel blazer, a black blazer are the key pieces, and form the basis of my capsule. I really appreciate all your advice, and thank you!
.... I always thought that, as well. And then I happened upon a lovely black trench coat, top quality , at a Consignment Shoppe. I bought it, and have worn it a multitude of times, especially in Early Spring and Autumn.
I get compliments each time I wear it , even with black jeans or blue jeans .
I'm actually glad I purchased it, and its been a wardrobe staple. :)

I love a capsule wardrobe for work. Having lived the capsule lifestyle for ten years, I decided that I was sick of limiting myself so stopped and haven't regretted it. However, I don't just buy items. I still stick rigid with my colours. I now know exactly what my constant clothing needs are .... Navy blazer? Great. But if I want a pale blue one now, I just buy it. Same with cashmere cardies .... Such a staple for me that if I see one in a pretty colour, I buy it and add to the collection. But honestly, if I hadn't ever capsuled, then I wouldn't know what works.

i tried neutral colors capsule wardrobe for a month and i decided it is not for me. I really need colorful wardrobe all year long. neutral colors are too dull for me... if i see something that suits my body shape and looks amazing on me i will just snatch it :P

Hi Gemma, my warm weather capsule is light blue short denim skirt, beige relaxed fit roll up chinos, white Levi’s, sleeveless v-neck white pullover, blue and white stripe button up blouse & navy flower embroidered cap sleeve t-shirt. Also structured woven bag with scarfs or woven tan belts & beige sandals. It was hard thinking of only 6 items.

If I wear a long cardigan over a maxi shift dress, does the cardigan have to be the same length as the maxi dress?
i have had big thighs all of my life ... so skinny jeans make me look like a funnel on my bottom half. i have found the wider leg pants are more flattering. i have a Gabe's in my area and they have a wealth of better clothes at low prices. it does require been patient going through the racks. Now I can wear lighter color bottoms without feeling self conscious.
The colours are a little bet better - white and beige, rose and white/ Where is bright yellow top and white bottom? It would be very impressible.
