Can we just acknowledge that customer Shawn is actually a heck of a cameraman and pretty good with the commentary as well?
It's a conspiracy, turns out the only ones that haven't been actors this whole time is Ed and peanut. Lol
Get him an application
I almost wanna say he's a better camera man than some of the actual employees. Some of the shots have looked way more cinematic and creative than usual.
He's no Trevor though, not running. Still for an amateur, he ain't bad.
That brings me to ask this simple yet interesting question, is he actually a customer or an employee, or even a customer employee?
What a great customer. He knows the risks and he accepts the consequences.
Real stand-up guy.
The best to you and yours.
You would think that the operators all know about wrecker booms and dips in the trail. Rory is always completely on top of it constantly adjusting the boom height even while in motion. Paul put a huge dent in a towed vehicles hood a couple years ago, and I think Matt might have been there when it happened. So it's not like they are not aware of how and when it happens.
@@TrevorDennis100
Do you have a off road recovery wrecker company?
Do you have a u tub channel to show everyone how it should be done?
Rory has had years of experience working with his wrecker and learned by doing and learning from his mistakes.
Matt offered the guy to replace the hood and everyone could hear him say all's good he was glad got him out of mess he got himself into.
@@TrevorDennis100 that was all but unavoidable. That "dip" in the trail is 6 feet deep. The damage could have been so much worse. Jamie and Matt executed that obstacle perfectly, my Jeep didn't want to cooperate.
@@perfectlyundonecustoms I watched that drop - pretty harrowing and Matt was right there to supervise. Sometimes s*it just happens.
That being said, the wrecker might need a T-leveling shank for supporting the vehicles while heading down a drop like that in the future!
All part of the fun, you don't go out on the trail and leave without a scar. That jeep looks pretty trail rig to me
I just want to point out how kind and loving Matt seems to be toward his wife. When the starter went out, he didn't freak out or make her feel bad. He didn't lose any patience. He even took some of the blame from an earlier incident and laughed about it! I hope we all treat the people we love with this level of kindness. It feels more rare lately so it's nice to see.
when you are doing what you want to do, with the people that you want to be with, and mechanical failures are part of the equation. why would you be mad? I have been 4 wheeling, had my fron hubs break and i am back in 2wd with the GF in the truck. I just got us out of trouble and kept going. She was surprised i wasn't mad. Its all part of the adventure.
How do you know? You watched a highly edited video made for millions of people to view. You're not that simple, are you?
Can we just pause a minute from the wrecker talk to give a 👍 for the client acting as camera man/spotter? Great job man!
Thank you. I guess I did an ok job for y'all...😅

Matt has no problem admitting that he has some learning to do with the wrecker. Thumbs up for that. Rory and his team puts on master classes with these types of recoveries. Matt will get there, he's smart.
I personally think there are some design flaws with the wrecker that is contributing to the issues more so than driver skill.
Jamie is a rock star! She always jumps in and does whatever it takes to get the job done! 😎
Jamie was amazing!
I think the boom needs to be extended. If you look at trailmater his boom is a lot longer and it keeps the vehicle out and away from his bumper and boom
Make the length adjustably long to be situation suitable….
Rory wouldn't have carried it out ... He would have welded it back together and had Shawn drive it!
I have 0 experience in off road recovery, but it sure looks like a slightly longer boom would really be helpful. Something that can be extended would really be nice, but maybe not worth the trouble.
Needs a longer boom and some link bars to connect the wrecker and towed vehicle together.
Needs a sling like most of the tow trucks, everyone keeps mentioning its not setup right, knew this would happen.
Sean was one of the best customers that I have seen on your channel yet. Great at the camera and the damage did not bother him, what a great attitude! Oh on edit, you guys all do such a great job with your channel, your Faith shows…. Very important!
Thanks for the Kudos Kris!
Seeing Jefe in front of the camera is so awesome. And he looks so happy, what a dude
That little damage on the hood is a badge of honor and a great conversation piece for an off road enthusiast. ✌️
Exactly! Why would I want it fixed? All it did was make her look a little better, and now I won't be so worried about my perfectly straight one owner hood...😂😂😂
@@perfectlyundonecustoms A farmer friend of ours would buy a new pickup, and treat it with kid gloves for a few days. Thats how a real jeep build happens. One broken piece at a time. Thats how you find a weak spot and fix it. Otherwise they would all be running stock axles and driveshafts if they were strong enough.
You got to give a humongous Applaud to Jillian she's out there stock as all heck wheeling solo, taking trails beefed up rigs would avoid. You go Girl.
This hearkens back to my college elk huntn rig, a 250k mile manual toyota corolla. 2 guys, camping gear, a 2x2 bull elk, and bottomed out for 2 hours back to the butcher. !
Wheeling solo is actually a stupid thing, especially with a stock unit. It shows a lack of good sense.

I think you guys should do a video of upgrading Jillians' expedition. Set good tires, a small lift, and maybe some lockers. She's been such a great repeat customer, and it would make a great surprise video with her not knowing!
if they did that they would not get as many calls
I think they would get more calls. Every 10 tows you get an upgrade to your vehicle.
If everyone pulls the parts together to do a build on Jillian's Expedition, I will build it for her.
@Perfectly Undone Customs I'd think with Matt's help and exposure on his channel, he'd probably be able to get some type of sponsorship help. 🤷♂️ maybe Milestar,Barnes off-road, Yukon Axle!😉
It will just mean the Expedition gets stuck in more remote and challenging locations.
Shawn took the damage like a champ, That's a Trophy mark 👏

Watching Jamie driving the big wrecker like she stole it is priceless, Matt you have the best support team
It is great seeing Jillian having a go on the off-road tracks. She is using her vehicle for it's intended purpose - an off road vehicle! Getting stuck happens to everyone from time to time.
Jaymie is a very competent off-road driver, and is adding to her skills in a very public way! You have a keeper Matt!!!
So fun seeing you learn with the wrecker. Also great to see Jefe able to be more involved with recovery in his new Bronco. Nice work all of you
Gillian is for sure the most hardcore offroad person I have ever seen! You guys in your big fancy rigs... Haha!
Watching Lizzy be a spotter for Jillian just shows how much she's learned about off-roading in the past few years. 👍
Yea one of a kind girl getting better everyday job i can see her running the show in the future
Funny thing, your customer was actually your best cameraman you have had possibly in your whole series so far.
Big difference you shouldn't ignore.
its always exciting to see what Jillian is stuck on next.
She seems to be happy just getting out and having fun 4 wheeling even though that thing looks mostly stock. Stock ride or not it's good to see you don't have to spend twice as much on the vehicle to enjoy 4 wheeling
@Mr Byamile that Expedition only cost $500. It has 33 inch tires and I've since removed the running boards. Next I need a lift and lockers. One day I hope...
It could be time to see if there's a sponsor that will help Jillian with a lift kit and maybe some mild upgrades. She's obviously determined and how her truck is rolling now will _almost_ get the job done! With a little more ground clearance...
New tires too
She is a good role model for people who are not adventurous. Yay Jillian!
I totally agree.
@@my3sons386 If they are off the ground tires don't really matter.
Rough Country, where are you?👍
Can we just acknowledge how good this channel and community is? So much positive vibes! Have a great day everyone.
Glad to see Lizzy and her smiling face. I feel bad for her not having a ride of her own to be proud of. She said at the end "It's ok" I hope it is.
Would you be better off, on highly articulated vehicles, to always strap the axle to the frame to stop axle droop as you lift it with the wrecker?
Jillian is back! She must have earned a free coffee by now on her loyalty card.
I’ve said this a few times, you need a detachable bar to hold the tow car’s distance to stop hitting the boom, heck, even in a push put an old tyre on the hood to prevent damage. Its great to see the wrecker doing some work though 👍🏻
This is not the 1st time I've seen matt and his crew recover Jillian now. Even from the 1st recovery video I've seen of her on here was obviously not her first. She seems like a really cool person I feel like we could start a go-fund-me for her to get her a little lift and a locker or two. It would be really cool to see what Matt and his crew could do with her expedition. I'm sure she would be happy to perform a recovery or two if she had a properly outfitted rig. If not it would at least provide some great content for the full size ford guys.
I have never thought anything on this channel was staged. You guys are a hell of a crew
apart from the golden nugget recovery!
We need more Sean on the crew, what a legend 😂
I appreciate you all showing your mistakes and how you handle them. Makes me feel better about messing up while working on my bike and ending up having to fix it on the side of the road with some tools borrowed from a friendly family.
Matt must be really proud of his truck, and he should be. He lets a lot of people drive it, and they all are impressed with it. Love to see it someday. ❤
Well we know enough people will come forward, and give Jefe all the stuff he needs to get that bronco trail ready.
Nice to see Jillian out enjoying the trails.
Shawn did some very good camera work. It's not easy to stay on the shot while things move around like that.
This recovery reminds me just how big the wrecker is. It's areal beast.
All I could think of was stay away from the tires, they will suck you in!😅
Jillian needs her rig customized a bit, she has to be Matt's number one customer and provides lots of content. So, what say you get some upgrades into her ride as a surprise...
Sean is a hell of a trooper, great to see his excellent camera work. I think that the wrecker needs an extendable boom, or how else is it going to stop damaging hoods??? Matt and Tom Tom need to address this and discuss the options.
So happy to see both Jefe and Jamie out on their first recoveries, learning the limits to their rigs.
I think you may need to lengthen the boom, on the wrecker. Jillian is a hoot! She definitely needs rock sliders! I don't blame Jefe for going easy on the Bronco, since it didn't have any upgrades (I know, this was shot before the skidplates and tie-rod armor was installed).
As someone wrote in the comments on the last video, a large boat fender, or several, attached to the boom would probably stop damage to the towed vehicles. I saw Rory had a strap that the nose of the towed vehicle nestled into (shielding from the boom), maybe that could also work.
I have also seen that strap device on Rory's truck, looks like it's made from sections of old tire treads. Seems like an excellent idea.
A heavy duty inner tube inside a skinned down tire roped in place. The thinned down tire would protect the tube from pinches….
Been watching for awhile now. In my unwarranted opinion I believe that a lower adjustable tow bar maybe a good idea to aid in keeping customers vehicles at a safer distance from the wreckers rear as well as stability in the side to side swaying…
Best Wishes to Matt & the crew! Keep up the great work & content!!
Came here to say the same. I am in no way certified in recoveries or done near as many as them. But this was my exact thought the first time they had a problem.
I know rory from trail mater has said the tow bars fail like crazy, but man it sure looks like they need one. Maybe make one that is sliding with shock absorbers
My thought also, but how do you secure it without causing damage to vehicle being towed? Maybe some sort of air bag? But even that could damage a plastic font-end.
@@kylancook3477 think if anything the boom needs to be longer or even extendable like a rotator
@@jonstevens7431 Yes , the boom is a little short , I am pretty sure they will address that at some point. Easiest way to make it better.
Sean was great as a camera man, and gracious with the slight damage incurred. Same way I would have handled it. I expect my off road rig to get some scratches and dents. As for Jillian... she's great. Love that she gets out and off roads. Matt needs to institute some sort of punch card reward for customers like Jillian. First time recoveries get a T-shirt. After that for each subsequent time there is really nothing. Something like 10 recoveries, and you get a free dinner or other.
I have a giant punch card. They gave me one over a year ago! Lol
I always smile when I see a Jillian recovery.
Matts such a good guy you could see it was absolutely eating him up that the customer didn’t need him to make the hood right. Thanks for the video!
The ding in my hood is a trophy, and bragging rights...

@@perfectlyundonecustoms Yep, a battle scar that proves you've been there and done that.
@@perfectlyundonecustoms you should get a "MORR" or "The Wrecker Games" sticker and slap it right on the dent
Matt, I think I mentioned it in the last video that the heavy wrecker needs an extendable boom. It just seems to me if you are taking on off camber and difficult trails a boom that can extend out further or a "V" boom (turned 180° from what you have) would work a lot better than the short arm that you are currently using.
Seen this mentioned in other videos. I agree. I know Matt knows his stuff. I wonder if they have plans in the future to change the setup.
Never doubt your skills Matt! You built it! You can drive it ! Excellent job Jamie!
Honestly, I was expecting a huge problem getting that Jeep out of there. You all made it look easy.
It was a little sketchy for sure.😅
Matt, that Jeep owner was a real stand up guy just interested in getting out and not complaining. You took the damage harder than he did. Jeffe, you can't blame Issy for anything and make it stick. She's earned her way from the time she jumped into the river for the golden nugget while the guys stayed on the trail and cried about their hangnails.
I met Sean out on the trail a couple of days after this up near the Toll Booths and again later in the week out at the lake. He's a great guy.
Awe thanks Jill... You are pretty alright yourself there girl! If we can get you some parts together for your rig, I would be happy to build it for you! I know there are quite a few people that have commented, and feel you deserve it... Maybe everyone can pull together and make it happen. I can not afford the parts, but I will give my time and abilities.
@Perfectly Undone Customs that'd be fun. It may take a bit before I can do much myself. I just got out of the hospital today, so I don't know how may days I'll be out before I can go back to work. Ugh

Man! Do I get a kick out of how easily that wrecker manages everything. Matt is a genius. (Plus his engineer) Jefe is all smiles. Rightfully timid in his spanking new ride.
Jaime has really come a long way! Cool to see her progression.
Best customer ever. Nice to see the wrecker doing what it was built for.
You need to hire this gentleman as a camera man. The shots were outstanding
Feels like an extending boom on the wrecker would be a good upgrade to assist with coming down those big rock steps whilst towing a rig
you nee to make a 36 - 48" adjustable bar that connects to your center pintle hitch and 'Ts' at the other end so you can connect soft shackles to the axel to avoid hood damage on customers vehicles.
otherwise your doing a fantastic job. Keep it up!
7:32 - Matt, all you need to do is build a removable cross bar that goes from the boom to the connection points on the customer vehicle. This will create a protection triangle, preventing the customer vehicle from getting too close to the wrecker. I would put a motorcycle shock in the middle of the cross bar to aid in absorbing impulses offroading.
I reckon it would be a sweet idea to get jillian some lockers and lifted springs! I'm sure there is a viewer who has some second hand parts sitting in an old truck they would be happy to donate! Seems like it would get her out of a lot of these situations herself as well!
You watched the setup BSF had at the wrecker games - put those silly pintel hitches to work and build an a-frame so you can keep vehicles from smashing into the back of your wrecker. It's worked for a decade plus going up and down some of the slickest and steepest climbs through the woods.
He also watched BSF break the sling.
Rory has explained it doesn't work on the area they're working in.
I do believe someone could make one that could withstand the articulation though for use out there.
I think it’s amazing how Matt keeps his cool no matter what! He’s someone to look up to!
Jillian’s expedition is the real GOAT 😂 that thing has seen some things 🤣
Good job Matt and Jamie!! You'll get the hang of having a "boom" on the back to watch out for Matt. Just takes time. Jefe and Lizzy did the first recovery in Jefe's new Bronco!! They did a nice job too!!
I appreciate that y’all always show the good and the not so good. Admirable !!!
I like that Matt let’s everyone drive all the vehicles. Something about that is really cool to me.
It's called everyone being trained on all equipment so No one can't say.... I don't know how
He really sees them as tools to get the job done and is a true leader. Also you can see how he really cares about serving the customers and not breaking their stuff.
Matt you should hire that customer as an employee as one of the other people watching stated he's great with a camera and he's also very good with the commentary , I say hire him .
As for Jillian we seen her on many episodes getting stuck I think she needs to take an off-road course and how to drive her Expedition safely Off road .
its looking like your going to need a middle seat for the wrecker Matt. and can I just say Matt and Jamie are like the husband and wife dream team!!!
I think you should use a towing triangle for the wrecker. Like some military vehicles have. It would keep the distance between the wrecker and the towed vehicle more constant.
I was going to suggest something like that.
Great recoverys guys.....Jamie is so impressive driving everything she gets her hands on.....even Matt !!.... lol
You guys nee to do two things; 1; hire that guy to swing a camera for you, he was pretty danged good!
And 2, build a length adjustable u-joint ended tow bar to stick between the wrecker and the vehicle being towed... The straps are great to keep it close, but the bigger Issues I see are when it swings forward.
She wheels that Expedition more than most Jeep owners! I love it!
Matt and Jaime learning the new wrecker and Jillian racking up those frequent flyer miles
It's just part of the learning curve with the wrecker for everyone, may be worth having a course made up with Rory on wrecker how to use the wrecker better and have him do a recovery in it and have his opinion on operating it and awesome that Jefe getting out there and finding the limits for the bronco and what he needs
I would be surprised to hear about any other Expedition that gets driven in as deep as Jillian's.
It seems anyone lucky enough to get time around MORR advances in life in positive ways also. The generosity of Matt and Jamie is not standard among towing companies so it's great when employees continue to show appreciation.
