Kudos to that customer with no brakes for remembering his keys. I’ll bet there’s a horror story in his past about keys. 🤪
Otherwise its another birdhouse
I think this is a customer who will never again forget the keys 😊
They might be Giants sung a song about Tom Toms endeavours
Birdhouse in your soul,
Yes, Tom Tom is not the best key holder. And under certain rules and regulations he's not the best bird house builder either. 😂😂😂😂
Tom Tom is one of Matts employees, and yes he is notorious for leaving customers keys at the shop. 😊😊
Matt singing at the end was the best part. He’s going the distance. Lol. How appropriate. You guys do an awesome job with the channel and stuff like that make you so relatable. Thanks
CAKE, good stuff
Editor should have merged in the song when Matt stopped. Now we're all humming along in our heads
Play it again again: 16:16
Yes, that made my week.
Nice Cake outro!
I’m sitting in my office right now that has a garage that Cake practiced/recorded in!
Hey Tom I hope you enjoyed my sugar wafers.
Thanks again Matt for getting me out and Tom for Welding the Rzr back together so my weekend wasn't ruined. You guys truly are the best.
Tomtom eating the wafers while getting winched onto the flatbed was hilarious. Actually made me lol
Wave that flag dude. Just so everyone knows about ya. 😂😂
That's a nice side by side you do not see them in the south east much we got smaller ones that's a real big one
How do the new welds look?
I thought that was you Rob
A warm welcome to Angela. Thanks for sharing Tom. He is the perfect engineer's balance for the impetuous nature of Matt.
Could not have that bet myself, 👍
I'm convinced there isn't a single car guy that doesn't know the words to that Cake song Matt was singing😂
Great to meet tom's wife Angela!!😃 Loosing brakes on a vehicles is heart stopping, doing it on the Maze at the drop is a life long story for sure Tom!!!🙃
I think we need Matt to record the story of Tomtom’s ride, cowboy poet style, that we heard him doing right at the end.
@@JimSealyJr Yes he does!!
Reckless and wild, they pour through the turns
Tom's prowess is potent and secretly stern
As they speed through the finish, the flags go down
The fans get up and they get out of town
The arena is empty except for one man
Still driving and striving as fast as he can
The sun has gone down and the moon has come up
And long ago somebody left with the cup
But Tom's driving and striving and hugging the turns
And thinking of someone for whom he still burns
TOM'S GOING THE DISTANCE!
First of all, Tom-Tom hit the marital jackpot. Second, watching an off-road rookie's reaction was hysterical.
Tom needs to upgrade his brakes with at least 11%.
A little more than 11😂
A true fan 😂
Obviously you don't watch Ronnie Mac,
It's 6 or 9 percent 😊
@@kevbev1524 If you go back a few videos you'll find out why it's 11% in this case.
"when I say whoa, I mean WHOA!" Love the Yosemite Sam quote.
Matt knowing Cake lyrics = most amazing part of the video for me.
A cultured man hides, a little revealed.
The irony of Matt reciting the lyrics to “The Distance” by Cake!!!
:”fuel burning fast on an empty tank”😂
Matt singing at the end... the icing on the "Cake" of another great video 😉
I see what you did there!
Nice to finally meet Tom's wife after all this time.
Angela was at the Xmas party but didn't talk on camera.
She was seen in a vid last week or so..after all this time.
Weird comment...
@@coreyraab4956 huh?
@@coreyraab4956its called manners bozo. He didnt say any wierd crap. He said nice to meet her, like you would when meeting someone in person. Man this world is doomed
Hi, Angela, from all of the MORR fans!
Hey Matt & Tom... Keep inviting Angela out here and there. Take her for a few more rides and recoveries.. She's gonna love it in no time!
My second favorite Yosemite Sam quote "When I say whoa, I mean WHOA!!!" My favorite Sam quote is "I'm a comin' back rabbit and I ain't a comin' back to play MARBLES!"
Great video too Matt, as always.
I lost track of the number of times that Matt asked "Why are you not stopping - oh yeah you don't have any brakes" Lol.
As he's holding a bottle of brake fluid.
"When I say WHOA I mean WHOA!"
Yosemite Sam
(AKA Matt)
🤣
Thank you for introducing Tom's wife before you know it she'll be rock crawling too! Sometimes you have trouble out on the trail and breakdown so it's nice to have Matt's team available for the rescue. Time to get the Premier welder installed in the Banana for these simple trail repairs Matt.
Thanks for going the distance for us Matt!
I see what you did there.
Hit the brakes once on an off ramp (we call them slip roads in the UK) at 80+mph. Big thump and my foot goes to the floor. Turned out the car that I'd only recently bought had a chunk missing from the disk/rotor and yanked a pad out of the calliper. That turn after the slip road should not be possible at those speeds but it's amazing what you can do when you fear for your life. The handbrake calliper was nearly on fire when I finally stopped.
I have to say, I really enjoy TomTom content and I'm looking forward to the upgrades on DigDug.
Were your pants dry afterwards? LOL! Thrice, I've had a similar experience, with a red light right in front of me. A valve stuck open in the brake system. Fortunately, I was driving a car with a manual transmission and there weren't any cars coming straight through the lights, so I was able to make a very quick right turn. I had a pedal-type parking brake. The system didn't register the problem until it happened the fourth time. That's when the dealer finally found the problem. Before that, they thought I didn't know what I was talking about. After the fourth time, when the car was brought to the dealership, my husband laid into them about their attitude towards me, because I actually knew what I was talking about, since I had qualified for my pro racing license just a few years before.
great story! yeah you become a driving magtion when you life's on the line. been there.
+80mph or 130kph in the UK? how about down shifting? And why not continue on the motorway if you cannot decelerate? handbrake on fire? What was your actual speed. Wrong side of the channel for that… I can engine brake coming from 160kph without issue if I look ahead, or don’t even need them,
@@larsradtke4097 We still largely use mph in the uk, he was probably in an automatic, and if he's on the offramp then he's already lfet the motorway. Also hyperbole is maybe more prevalent here, for fun.
The car had a chunk missing from the rotor and you didn't notice the first time you stopped? Did you ignore the noise or did it not have a chunk missing until that happend? Even a rotor being a little tiny bit warped is incredibly loud from the drivers seat
"A man that loses his brakes, finds his soul" - Unknown.
Had this happen once and it cause me to wreck. Definitely life changing
ya know... by then... it's probably too late....
It is so nice to see Ed there without his collar and looking good. God Bless
You Ed. 🙏🤗
Hi Angela, You should do more with Tom and Matt's Off Road Recovery! You showed no fear in the rescue of Tom's vehicle! Maybe you can learn the business and do some recoveries with the women of the shop, an all girls recovery if you will! That would be awesome to see! Til next time, take care and we'll see you on the next..
Cool to see Tom’s wife Angela on a episode/recovery. Look forward to seeing the build up of dig dug.
RE: Big axles
Consider something like a wrecker based on a Steiger Bearcat. A Flexible Articulated Recovery Truck Retriever. Yes, the center pin would need a rotation limiter and possibly a lock, the hydraulics would be challenging, but the boom could run off the 3-point hitch and hydraulic winches may be available as scrap. The rear drive shaft might need to be coaxial with the central rotation pin. This way there are no steering issues! Add in the possibility of getting huge articulation and it looks interesting. Just be sure to include multiple inclinometers ro prevent rollovers.
Rory should patent his design for off-road trailers, his and yours are just amazing! That said that side-by-side maxxed out the trailer. Good to see Ed (minus the neck-brace) supervising Matt backing up to the shop door!!!
I don't know if it's possible to patent 4 tubes, a floor and some axles....
Good people out there. Where I am from, a person left their broken down truck a bit too long. Came back for it, and it was upside down with missing wheels and carb.
I thought a dual chambered master cylinder meant a split system , either front/back, or diagonal. So how come TomTom had NO brakes? Perhaps something they hadn't got round to yet?
We haven't seen that trailer for a while. That was cool how the winch from the side by side was able to keep the side without a tire in the air.
That ol Tom Tom is one of the best tools in the shed!🤘
I met Tom’s wife a week ago when we stopped by the shop while in town, I got some pics of dig dug and met Jaime and Matt!! Thank you for spending a few minutes out of your busy day with us!!
I don't know what's happened with Matt but his personality has really come out in the videos in the past few months.
1:13 into this episode and already it's one of my favorites. This is gonna be good! Okay, Matt singing Cake was the best part!!!!
I like Tom’s flatbed. Very clean styling. Same with the WIP gauge panel.
Glad you were able to get Tom-Tom fixed, his wife looked like she was having a wonderful time with the two of you on his recovery of the truck, thanks for the video, David, North Ogden, Utah. ❤❤❤.
square body brake blues. It's common in those old Chevys. Remember the Blazer on Lion's Head some years back?
Hi Mrs. Tom! Great to have Angela along 👋
Nice to meet Tom's better half Angela funny when the call is an employee & his wife is on the recovery this is good stuff glad Tom didn't get hurt great video thank's for sharing God bless ❤😉👍
Not sure if you guys are implementing "fiber lock" when you use the ratchet straps, but 3 full wraps of strap on the ratchet will keep things nice and snug without it acquiring slack over time regardless of the ride.
Hope this helps 😊
Tom is the perfect combo of engineering/fab skillset and easy going personality. Great addition to the team.
Seriously. I'm a field guy turned engineer turned field guy. I've always felt all engineers need the practical experience. Tom is the living example
Never realized how well Cake - The Distance describes you guys, especial the empty tank part! 😆
Love Angela’s nervous giggle, works for me on roller coasters.
I started off roading when I was in High School in modified (very sketchily on a High School budget) VW Beetles and have on more than one occasion had the sphincter tightening misfortune of loosing my brakes -- always a wild ride!! I always enjoy the combination of Tom's engineer thinking and Matt's just do it thinking.
Ahh but it's not 75% of the braking power because the front wheels typically have more breaking power than the rear.
FYI this was an awesome video and I'm glad you brought Tom's wife along. Love seeing these first time reactions to obstacles, you could do more of that and it'd be a major hit on CZcams I think!
It seem like a joke about the % but I could totally be wrong 😂😂
75% of the calipers were working. 😉
Partially correct, one of the front brakes did break, so 50% off the front. 😋
@@ADBBuild lmao.....50% of the calipers were working and 100% of the wheel cylinders....assuming it's drum brake in the rear.....sorry, had to add to it all lol
Tom is such an asset to the business. Calm, articulate, smart as hell. And wifey is good too. More of her pls.
I don't think "smart as hell" quite covers it lol the man is quite literally a rocket scientist... But I agree he's a huge asset to the team.
I wish trucks were built as durable as his bed in his truck
He’s also a huge beta lol.
@@modernprosperity7798huge beta is an oxymoron 😮
Love the Sahara Hare reference there Matt, one of my favourite cartoon's.
I'm generally not one to comment, however I've been watching for so long now and to hear Matt Singing impromptu The Distance by Cake made my day! Love You guys and FabRats and hope to come visit soon. I'm in AZ so close but life has made it so far away.
Questions..
- it's a dual master cylinder.. why did It lose all the brakes?
- why was their any brake fluid left in both reservoirs?
It seems the front reservoir should have been totally empty..
Is it possible that there's another, additional, problem?
Brake fade, moisture in the lines / boiling, bad master cylinder, air in lines..
Strange / dangerous that both circuits failed..
Yes, must be an additional problem with the rear hydrualic system. Front hydraulic failure doesn't equal total brake failure. Significant loss of total braking, but rear brakes should have still worked. When Tom pulled the lid off the master cylinder, the back half (rear hydrualic system) you can see that the rubber bellows was pulled down similar to the front section, so a significant loss of rear fluid had occurred since the last time he pulled the lid off the master cylinder and checked the fluid. The front and rear systems are totally seperate except for the plunger inside the master cylinder itself and even that plunger has two completely independent hydrualic sections, one front, one rear.
So happy to have Angela onboard! I hope she is on more videos. She shows us the “off-road” wife look. 😊
What is that?🙂
Enjoyed meeting your wife Tom. Easy peasy nothing sketchy in this rescue. Hoping to see you build out Tom Tom. Don't think the MRAP diffs are going to fit but fun to watch you try.
Man good for you guys, I appreciate how much fun Tom and Matt have together while they’re working and or screwing around haha. Working with one of your best friends makes work far more fun!
GOOOD MORRning every one and thumbs UP to Matt and crew! 👍👁👁👍

Matt quotes Cake! Who knew?
Dig Dug needs upgrades, and Tom just bought some very big axles if I recall lol
lol.
I was hoping those would go on the new Corvair 😁
Can't help but love TomTom's wife. She got remarried🤣. She had a rocket scientist, now an off-road expert. Looks like she is loving her new husband. Wise and adventurous woman. She's got a perfect example in Jaymie. Women like these are far too rare. So glad TomTom had time to clean up after that brake loss. Good work all, thanks for posting.
@@brianmelcarr Not sure this makes sense,..
I think it was a reference to toms previous jobs rather than her literally being remarried
@@callumkingunderwood Sorry all. The exaggeration comedy was for Matt and TomTom. I should have remembered that some would read my writing not knowing that "remarried" is a joke to the MORR crew and a problem to those that don't have a continuing relationship with MORR. I've even been there and spent some time talking with all, TomTom was only doing quest appearances last August when I was there, so I haven't met him yet.
@@brianmelcarr My exaggeration comedy wouldn't make sense to new people. I'm sorry for forgetting there would be some that would not know that it was an exaggeration joke to highlight just how much of a change both Matt and TomTom have made to get to where they are today, and they have two good wives that take it in stride. I went back and edited in a smiley face to help with the recognition of humor in the exaggeration.
Tom is a WONDERFUL addition to this channel. Love what he adds.
Would have never put Matt as a Cake fan.
Right?
Super nice meeting your wife. God well done you should check your brakes before you go wheeling in the rocks. Awesome Recovery 👌
It's always an eye opener when a "new" person does something for the first time! That area is so beautiful I'm sure it's difficult not to fall in love with wheeling! Fantastic episode as always!
🙌🍪😄 Shoutout to Matt for saving the day and Tom for his exceptional welding skills! You guys are true heroes, coming together to fix the brakes on TomTom's car and ensuring his weekend wasn't ruined. It's heartwarming to see such camaraderie and support among friends. I'm curious to know more about the challenges you faced during the repair and how you managed to overcome them. Kudos to your resourcefulness and teamwork! Keep up the fantastic work, and may your future adventures be brake-trouble-free. 👍🔧🚗

Tom's square body needs to meet Robby Layton! It would look so great
Matt never fails to surprise, he knows the words to The Race 😄

Thats awesome.... the official combination to open the hood on those old Chevy's..... bang on the hood.... worked every time
That outtro got me 😂 Now I wanna hear a full version with the whole MORR crew!
Hello Angela, you have a great friend there Tom Tom rescuing your truck after that other bloke sent you off that cliff edge 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Great video guys as always
It's been entertaining to see Tom becoming comfortable on camera, but his wife seems to have taken to it like a duck to water,👍, great video guys, thanks for sharing.
Great video boys - glad to see you enjoying the great outdoors! What you can do in a SXS is absolutely amazing - fun, fast, reliable! I have had lots of great cars but since I bought my first SXS (after many years of quads and moto's) in 2020 I was quickly converted - with age comes a cage as they say! The best of the best are $50k - so right in line with your theme - my Pro R is what you were in on steroids - I see both a dune trip and a rock crawling trip in your future! Keep the content coming!
Matt’s a CAKE fan?! I knew I liked this channel but specifically Matt’s cool factor just went up a notch or two when I experienced a college flashback… 1996 album ‘Fashion Nugget’ all came flooding back! It’s totally in my head now…He’s going The Distance… He’s going for speed…
PS- CAKE is on tour and playing in SLC on June 25th…
Tom was going the distance, he's going for speed...
Wait???? Am I only just realizing that I must be around the same age as Matt and with similar taste and logic to boot???? Now its all beginning to make perfect sense, why I enjoy the channel so much and usually completely understand Matt's philosophies and special uniqueness haha!!! Matt, hearing you at the end there, spitting those super familiar words brought me right back to a much simpler time! Haven't said words like "collecting stamps, in a room all filled with Chinese lamps" or "short skirt long jacket" or even "Italian leather sofa" in a long time man! Thanks for that!!!
i remember a quote from a while back from petersons 4wheel and offroad magazine, "after pinching off one brake line the rig had 3 operational brakes, which while capable of stopping the rig, does not a stabile rig make", glad nothing more serious happened when the brakes failed on Tom,
Years ago on the first obstacle on the Rubicon Trail I broke the left front brake line on my xj. Grabbed vise grip pliers and crimped it shut and drove the rest of the day. Had three barely functioning breaks and used the parking brake a lot. Lucky at camp someone had the exact line I needed, added fluid and bled them and off we went the next day.
Goes to show no matter what you do for a living a break down can occur any time.
Not sure why, but Tom Tom casually eating the customers snacks made me laugh out loud!!!
They were really good sugar wafers and I didn't mind sharing..lol

So nice to meet Angela. Best wishes from the UK.
Another flawless recovery done by Matt & Tom. And the first time I had ever heard of CHICKEN 🐔 IN A BISKIT Snack, was by watching his channel. Now I have them on the grocery list every time I make one. Those things are simply outstanding. And did I say addicting??? They are!! and I owe my new addiction to Matt!! 😊

It is NOT bad to break your own stuff just so you can go back and have a fun day retrieving
it noone should be mad at that.

Would love to see a walk around on Tom's truck. I'm going to do the dash in my K15 like his.
Hi TomTom and Matt and Angela, great video, guys . Tom Tom, you are one lucky guy ! Your wife is beautiful!! Thanks for letting us meet her.Hey Matt, I was just wondering if you guys ever met Derrick from VISE GRIP GARAGE? Keep making these awesome videos. Loved your new corvair ! Tom Tom needs some new heavy duty axles & brakes for his truck. It just so happens while Matt was away picking up the latest addition to his Corvair fleet, MORR acquired some heavy duty axles...
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was hoping they'd install those on the new Corvair 😂
Another great episode. I look forward to watching a MORR video after work. Makes everything better.
We stopped y the yard last week and Angelia showed us around. We had a great visit. She is so awesome and happy to see her in a video.
Time to make them brakes about 11% better
Whats the deal with side by sides breaking front suspension components? Are they underengineered for the weight? Or are people pushing them too far? Both?
A little of both. People overestimate their capabilities and assume they are pint sized trophy trucks, but they are built to a price.
Those guys tend to treat them like paper plates.
Dan, I wish we could be there but we are heading for Colorado Springs that day. Have a safe trip and a great hike.

Great video y'all but seriously... Matt bustin out "The Distance" by Cake at the end was worth waiting for.😁
MRAP axles on DigDug?
Apparently I just heard Yosemite Sam rearing his Mustached head.
LOL, My favorite Cake song, I use to play that full blast driving over 100mph when I had anything that was fast(which is pretty much most of the time, lol). Last 3 cars was a modified 84 Corvette(not stock) with the crossfire injection still(modified chip)300+hp, a 2007 Volvo S80 V8 with the all wheel drive and the 320HP Yamaha all aluminum outboard engine(lost it in Hurricane Ian😥), and my current car is a 2008 Passat VR6 300HP. But I miss my all wheel drive, but I do love my Volkswagen. 'Supposedly' it will go 155mph, but uh I have not put that to the test yet lol, only about 115 or so, so far lol.
Keep up the great work. Doing a awesome job. Nice job on getting them out of there and welding the stuff back together again. Sweet.
Ah, you can see Matt's starting to wonder how long it would take to train Angela to start doing recoveries, lol....
Cake for the win
Angela's so polite and very welcoming! She was at the front little merch shop and gave me a coloring book and air freshner for my son couple weeks ago! When I got back home little dude was so excited! 🙂
Matt singing at the end of the video is the best thing I've seen on this channel since dragging the Golden Nugget thru the riverbed. lol WELL DONE GUYS!!!!!
