    Hi there blind trucker. I have a Champion 3,400 watt inverter/generator in my cargo trailer/camper. I mad the modification for an external fuel pump using a vacuum pump from another popular video. Well, it won't keep up with running at 30 amps. It runs dry of fuel. Won't run at 7,000. It also runs dry of fuel. I'm putting the same pump as yours this weekend only a 3-4 psi one.
    As far as AC's are concerned. You have have to run your generator at full speed for maybe an hour. The compressor will calm down and starts up much easier. Then you can switch to ECO mode. I've gone through a lot of AC's looking for just the right one. Everyone is different. You will find that some 8,000 btu's will not run then you try a 12,000btu and it does run!!! They are all different. You can also put a hard start capacitor in your AC and then it should run fine on ECO mode all the time. So, 10-4 good pally or whatever the fuck you guys say!!! lol
    Oh, and a 700 watt microwave doesn't mean it needs 700 watts. That's the cooking power. It take twice or sometimes 3 times the watts to run

      Way better!! Gas tank stays full. I just did a service on it and the tank was completely full. With that 7 gallon extended tank and the .9 gallon tank on the generator. I’m positive I can get 5 days before I need to gas up.

    Hows the pump workinout?

    Have you tried a fuel pressure regulator? Call up a mini bike company that works with 50-200 cc engines and ask em which one to use for your size engine.

    Great video! I have a work truck and want to do something like this using using my trucks main fuel tank. So that little fuel pump just shuts off when the generator tank gets full and as the generator uses fuel it kicks on and tops off the tank?
    Does it suck fuel from your main tank where it can be mounted higher than the main tank? Or does it need to be lower so fuel gravity feeds to the pump?

      @DrivingByBraille  Před 2 lety +1

      Get a lower PSI pump. This one ended up cracking the tank on the generator. But, yes. It will continually feed gas to the generator. If you have the generator below the fuel source. No need for a pump.

    Why do u need a fuel pump

    I've got that same powerdrill, but have only used it for a few short projects. Any problems with yours?
    Also, how frequent are those Amazon loads going away from and back to Spokane. I'm curious about that. I passed by it during different stages of the construction process...it's a huge facility!

      It ended up blowing the gas tank. Needs to be 1-2psi on the fuel pump. Won’t take much. I ended up bypassing the fuel tank and going directly into the carb.

    How much do you want for that cascadia? I live up in SLC
    Also, a lot of things draw significantly more power on start-up, upto twice as much?

      The Freightliner dealer in St. George bought it and sold it. It was sold before they even got the title transferred.

    I istaled a predator on my sons w900 and it runs the 5000btu air and the microwave. That depends on the wattage of the micro wave.

      I’ve replaced it with a new generator. It worked. Think it might have put too much pressure on such a small carburetor though. I would go with a 2psi for the predator 2000
