correct me if wrong but, im p sure since rob and amber are still happily married after being together for well over 15 years they are still the most successful reality tv couple ever
Going on 17 years this April.
I think it really got me because… I just have never seen a guy like Rob, arrogant and kind of loud, perfectly happy being manipulative if it suits his purpose (at least in these situations), find a girl he actually wants to settle down with. Seeing him be… so DIFFERENT about her, tender and caring and protective, worrying about her, it kind of blows my mind a little bit. 😅
It makes me wonder if he’s actually a pretty solidly good guy outside of the game-o-sphere, just perhaps with an ego due to his intelligence and looks.
Regardless, it makes him such an interesting persona to watch, and I’m happy for him and Amber; sometimes people find love in the weirdest ways, at the strangest times. My fiancé was supposed to be going to France for his studies when the pandemic first hit, but he didn’t go.
Meanwhile my mom had stage 4 cancer and i didn’t want to really date again, but i knew she worried for me and would be much happier if I was with someone, so at her urging, i reconsidered. For the first time in three years of being single, I tried a dating app, one I’d never tried before, said to myself, “This is so stressful and draining, so I’ll just talk to six guys, a max of three weeks, and if no one stands out, I’ll wait three months and try again.” Second day, he commented on my goofy photo, not just a flattering one, so I messaged him. Found out he was a big brother (and protective), loved history and fantasy like I do, and we just… it was more like falling back in step than meeting.
Instead of taking 2-3 months of messaging to give him my number, it was 3 days. Instead of phone calls for 3-5 months before a date (I try to be careful; lotta creeps out there), he got to meet me. We went to a bookstore, and within 15 minutes I was COMFORTABLE with him, not nervous at all. The engagement was in five months, and we’re marrying in just over four months in Scotland! 😅
I was… not expecting anything, and was just doing due diligence to make my mother happy, on the off chance, to have this three week window for the first time in three years. He was supposed to be in France, and didn’t expect much either from the app. But it just HAPPENED, and it allowed a very sick lady to meet her future son-in-law several times before she passed, giving her so much peace of mind about the future of her kid.
So while I want to be a cynic about romances that happen on tv shows… I don’t think I’ll ever be able to be that cynical again, because I lived a somewhat serendipitous situation myself, and even with pressure and not a lot of time, sometimes you just know yourself well enough to know your person when you meet them, and it’s not really a question of if, but when you’re going to decide to make it official.

The best thing about seeing them in amazing race is that you can see amber’s personality way more than in survivor, kinda makes you like her more

As usual though Charla and Mirna were hilarious and won two legs. It seemed fitting that they were the ones that knocked them out at the mat and Uchenna and Joyce were there with them

I love TAR All-Stars because they visit my country (Chile 🇨🇱) from the desert in the north to the very end of the Paragonia. They only miss the ice fields.
Chile was friggin beautiful throughout the 2.5 legs they showed here. This is definitely the best south american legs ever in the amazing race

Well this was a twist elimination! I watched most of this season baffled as to why my friends who'd already seen it seemed to regard it as one of the worst ever at the time. I was like "Sure, Erik and Danielle are pretty awful, but there's two female teams that made it really far, and Dustin and Kandice getting a second chance after being totally screwed over last time is great, isn't it?" Then I watched the final episode and... yep. I got it. I think this might be the ultimate case of a finale leaving such a bad taste in the mouth that it retroactively makes the rest of the season seem worse.
They are so much fun on the race.
While I'm a Survivor superfan (and was equally a TAR superfan at the time), I rooted for Charla and Mirna during that footrace. That footrace was so iconic, not only Rob and Amber got eliminated, Charla and Mirna won the next two legs.
Edit: Watching this video, I remember gagging over Rob not spelling "Philippines" correctly, and I'm Filipino 😂😂😂

One bad leg brought them down. They were dominating before. Confirmed they were a couple in love and had a marriage that would likely last

I always found Rob annoying and Amber kinda sweet
Then again, I stopped watching TAR 11 midway through cuz burn out and I hadn't seen any Survivor prior to that

I was cheering for their downfall the whole time, and it was made sweeter that it was partially after a rivalry with Charla and Mirna, a "hated' team that I actually liked (though more for Charla). My perception of Boston Rob was backwards to most though, as I got into The Amazing Race long before I knew anything of Survivor, so I saw both of Rob and Amber's Races before ever seeing what Rob was like on Survivor - and I like him a lot more when he's on Survivor.
I was going to comment complaining about Kevin and Drew being “bad racers” but I forgot how sad they were this season. Missed the goofy fun team from season 1.
When you says it
Many people talk about how the mail Roadblock got them out of the Race (and how the show presented the showdown of them vs. Charla & Mirna at the end of that episode) but barely anyone really talks about how Rob's misspelling of "Phillipeans" (Philippines - it's not just a mistake of 2 Ls instead of one FYI) caused them to fall behind and start the crash and burn.
Also I know Amber had already performed 2 out of 2 Roadblocks prior to that, but Amber should have done that mail Roadblock instead. Seeing how the rest of that race went, it would be probably smarter to have Rob be available to perform more (physically demanding) Roadblocks later in the race had they survived.
Rob and Amber are just so iconic i mean yes if amber doesnt go on all stars they can meet after the gang like others but it wouldnt be as strong and we wouldnt get to watch it
I watched S7 and S11. Why was Rob and Amber's 2nd place finish controversial? I don't remember and did not see it mentioned in your video about it.

12:00 he didn’t peak yet, if anything he peaked 3 years later when he won survivor 22 redemption island, people hate the season because Rob played it perfectly.
And he was going up against people who theoretically would have watched everything else he was on. It isn't his fault everyone else played dumb with Rob in the mix.

I hated rob with a passion as a kid since all stars i didn't even watch his first season lol.
I always liked Amber as a kid tho. However now is the opposite i kinda respect his love for the game and i hate how Amber flopped in WaW it made what people say about All stars valid

Uchenna saying in All Stats that Rob and Amber couldn’t beat them when it came down to it made me so angry coz we all knew why Rob/Amber didn’t win ;) No way in hell would an airport open the gate and let them enter the plane when it’s about to close all doors but yeah Uchenna. Keep telling yourself that u were stronger lol
I still have this theory that Joyce's shaved head was what saved their azzes boarding the closed gate. There's generous people all over the world and boarding staff could let you enter planes on special circumstances back in the mid 2000s like if it's a pregnancy or medical obligation. If I didn't know about her head shave FF I would've assumed she was going through chemo and allowed her and Uchenna to board.🤔 But who am I to know.

I REALLY hated him!!! Then he was in All Stars and I had to suffer through him again.
I came to TAR later, Season 11. So I watched all earlier seasons online. I was so tempted to go straight to the final leg of the race just to see if he was in it! I couldn’t stand the thought of that obnoxious jerk winning. But I wasn’t going to miss out on anything. So I just hoped; and rejoiced when they were eliminated both times.
I wad so happy they go eliminate. Today is so annoying and sneaky, a person who d6like to earn an earnest living.
