I haven't watched the bachelor but if I had to take a guess, the people on the bachelor are probably superficial and petty. While on survivor the game is meant that way, not all the people that are on the show are that way.

At the time, they may seem to be kinda forced down our throats but hey, seeing them consistently so happy and watching their family grow and grow is such a positive light in the usually bleak world of reality TV.
@@OnceUponAnIsland i feel bad for rob and amber even if it was a happy ending they did the mot in the final 3 but there was way way way too much equalizing, the fact that the equalizing happend in the final 3 twice was juts horrible.. the last time it should happen is in the final 5 at best

@ZekeRBsCMD GamingI cannot stand Boston Rob. He wrecked my ability to watch Survivor, and almost wrecked TAR. Was almost wonderful watching Uchenna and Joyce getting having his number.
When he got other teams to not preform the roadblock of eating the meat, it is pure genius and pure Rob! This is the first time in my opinion that true strategy was used in the amazing race and although it’s definitely not as prevalent as it is in survivor, he definitely paved a path of strategy in the amazing race!!
It was the first Successful strategy,If I remember Season 1 that gay guys (IK it starts with a g) tried to block the other teams from entering the flight and it failed and backfired really bad on them
I am just now watching this and have never been so impressed with a team! They played this game! The way he recruits people to help him the entire leg in other countries is unreal. Bonus! They did the entire race with smiles and great attitudes. They were a joy to watch race!

So many couples treat each other so poorly on TAR but Rob and Amber were so nice to each other. That's pretty special and lovely to see tbh.
The dynamic between Rob and Amber this season was so much fun I love this more then them falling in love it’s them in their element being devious and it’s so much fun to watch

Oh do I miss when teams got to choose their own flights and such. Equalizers are fun once in a while but being able to get the fastest flights took strategy, occasionally risk, and also required teams to overcome communication barriers depending on the country.
Maybe it was hard on production.
like the couple or not, you cant deny how hard they apply themselves at any challenge, even though rob can be pretty arrogant sometimes. they both communicate well, and are incredibly intelligent, even if it occasionally backfired

What about Meredith and Gretchen?
I think when teams play amazing race like it's survivor it can either be a joyless slog (like the massive dominant onion alliance in season 32) or it can be so charming and etertaining like watching watching rob here and watching the twinnies.
This season is peak Mariano, love the ruthlessness. Saying he'll build her a house better than the taj mahal so encapsulates his tv persona. He's so arrogant but he really seems like he loves her so much. I also loved getting to see moments of villian amber when watching this season

I did not like the twinnies at all on TAR. All they seemed to do was bicker and blame each other. Loved Nat on Survivor tho, both times. She kicked butt.

@@logans5443 airline flights are one thing, still annoyed by the stalled ferry between Dar Es Salaam and Zanzibar during all stars I. Yes it would have led to a mess, but, it would have been a more satisfying final.
But Romber would have never made it to the flight to South Africa from Argentina if it wasnt for that equalizers at the airport

I'm obsessed with this season because of how cute Rob and Amber are; even cuter than their season of survivor. is It worth watching their second season of TAR? I eat up all Rob and amber content but I know they don't get very far

I love Uchenna and Joyce. I thought their underdog win was amazing. I’m glad they won. HOWEVER. If Rob and Amber had gotten first instead of second, watching the teams at the finish line refuse to cheer for them, or better, *politely golf clap*, would have been glorious.

That final flight was bull lol. They were one of the best teams tactically ever, sadly the show started to get rid of strategy.
Yeah! In the later seasons, it seemed like the flights were already booked so you can't really make moves like they did in earlier seasons. Which, makes sense financially, I am sure some of those last minute flights cost a pretty penny.
Yeah I have flown a lot & never have I seen anyone allowed to board after the plane has detached from the docking platform, ever. Honestly pretty questionable lol. I flew a lot pre-9/11 too even before the added security & tension at airports & they still never did stuff like this ever.
@@rcmunro22 From what Phil said in DVD Bonus Content for this season, it was entirely the pilots choice to return to the gate to let Uchenia and Joyce board. He said the production team had no part in persuading the pilots to let them board.

@@diobrando7759 If you recall, the plane was held for Rob and Amber in episode #4 (and Rob gloated about it, saying that they made the flight, even after taking the penalty.) Just saying.
They were a great team: smart, competitive, competent, complement each other well and made a lot of out of the box moves (not just moving in a straight line).
Rob is a beast, he managed to bring some serious strategy and manipulation to the Amazing Race.

These two are perfect for each other - Amber seems perfectly happy to stroke Rob’s ego and Rob (as stated by Amber on multiple occasions in All-stars) makes Amber feel safe and protected.

I remember being so disappointed that Uchenna and Joyce got on that flight. I feel like production intervened as if they didn’t get on that flight the race would have been over right there.

Me I know Rob has claimed it wasn’t rigged but it’s just so wild to think they would open it up but I feel like it violates so many faa laws it’s the ultimate amazing race conspiracy theory I guess
He actually in a more recent interview has said that they did put Uchenna and Joyce on the plane with them. Plus, Rob's attitude towards the entire thing is pretty strange. Every time Rob loses Survivor or a similar game show, he has always taken his loss gracefully and hasn't been bitter about it. However, Amazing Race 7 is the one exception to this. He has stated numerous times how he was soured from the whole experience and never wanted to do All-Stars and only did it because Amber wanted to. That just makes me believe even more that production interfered and put Uchenna and Joyce on the plane.

@@bartallen8121 They would do it because they needed to have an interesting finale. Rob and Amber were the villains of the show, and they needed a final showdown between them and the heroes, Uchenna and Joyce. If the plane had taken off, it would have been the most lopsided and boring finale in Amazing Race history, as Rob and Amber would cruise to victory. The producers needed to make it "fair", so they put Uchenna and Joyce on the flight to make sure that it wasn't a blowout.

Great timing! And I was just rewatching season 7 these past few days.
It's gross how much the other teams hate rob and amber, it makes me want them to win even more
And the irony is that the teams like Debbie and Bianca, Susan and Patrick, and Lynn and Alex ended up losing to them and were eliminated early in the season, though Lynn and Alex finish 5th but Rob and Amber finish 2nd.

Rob could be cocky but they already hated him before he even said hello to them. That was really strange. I wouldn’t be nice and a friend to them too when they try to get me out early on and hate me without knowing me (besides seeing me on Survivor ofc ) lmao
I listened to the Historian's podcast a bit, and early survivor returnee seasons made previous winners have huge targets on their back because in everyone's minds, they had their shot at the million
early in reality TV like this, that mentality might have been very similar--that other teams didn't like that a team who had already won a million dollars on a different reality show were getting another shot at it. The cheap tricks definitely didn't help their standing with everyone else's opinions

What is hilarious is that Rob somehow...in a game that ISNT about manipulation...found a way to manipulate the game lol.
I have watched this show for years and never have I seen someone get a police escort or bribe taxi drivers to screw over other players.
I mean who even thinks of that? Usually its all about ones drive to get first place and has nothing to do with the other players.
Rob somehow finds a way to not only get ahead but laugh and toy with the others while doing so.
I really love the amazing race content that you are putting out. However one thing I would make is perhaps adding a third category when you were judging the racers. I wouldn’t necessarily call getting a bad taxi/bad directions dumb on their part just unlucky so maybe adding in a luck factor would be cool. Regardless, this was fantastic and I hope to see more of these

BEST TAR SEASON EVER! Crazy that it's been 15 years since I watched this, and I still remember 1) how impressively Rob and Amber competed, 2) how amazingly Meredith & Gretchen (in the late 60s!) made it so far in the game, and yes, they definitely got hurt a few times b/c all I can remember are them saying "OOF" each time it happens, 3) Joyce shaving her head, and Uchenna & Joyce's incredible (and controversial) airline manuvering, and 4) ugh, just how annoying and toxic Ron & Kelly were.
I remember when I was younger how much I hated Lynne and Alex… I still hate them so much for hating and attacking Rob/Amber for no damn reason lmao

35:24: Oh man..... If you think about it, that yield was the beginning of the end for Rob & Amber. If I recall correctly, Uchenna & Joyce just narrowly beat out Meredith & Gretchen to stay in the Race and ultimately go on to win the season. So what happens if the Yield is used on THEM instead?! We already know Rob & Amber outperform Ron & Kelly at the Final and while the thought of Meredith & Gretchen pulling off the upset of the century by winning is certainly amusing, I just don't see it happening.

I remember watching this season, and i was team rob/amber, their competitiveness eas everything for me
I saw Rob on Survivor first and was shocked that he got evicted in Season 4. He was really nice to everyone.. He learned from that and realised that those shows are really Games afterall and there is Money on the line. And everyone was hating on Rob in season 7 of TAR for no reason. I rooted for them just to shut the haters up lmao

This was my introduction to Rob and Amber. I remember watching this season when it aired, and as a dumb high schooler, I was easily swayed to think Rob & Amber were assholes. I'm still elated that Uchenna & Joyce won in the end but I'd like to revisit this season at some point, especially now that I've watched their Survivor stories

Definitely was Robs biggest mistake not using the yield on Uchena to help get old couple into the final 3. First time I watched this season I didn't care for them now I see the appeal of Rob and Amber in second viewing of season. Love to have seen Collin and Christie face off.

This is 2005. So before Boston Rob had not won yet, but this takes place right after All-Stars (hence why I only mention All-Stars in this video).
