    Great Video. Wish all Mechanics and shops are honest and upfront like you. As owner operator like myself, in my opinions,most of time if not all. I don't mind paying for the the work on my truck. Honest work and fair price and done in a timely manner.
    Something to think about if you ever open your own shop in the future. JUST DON'T DO IT IN CALIFORNIA. Seriously!!

      Thanks for watching and reaching out. I completely feel you there. I hate going to shops wondering if I’m going to be able to trust the work or if it’s gna be done right te first time. Than there comes time to pay. It’s it going to be worth this price. And dealers. Damn there getting $$$ these days. We’re almost at 200 hr. I always contemplate my own shop and Deff never in Cali. But that brings on a whole lot of liability with it. But I do enjoy the relations being built and trustworthy work that people can rely on. Appreciate your support on this channel and hopefully more of these vids will come in handy for you.

      Great question. So if u mean the inj harness pass through seal then there’s no oring. It’s just a Teflon type seal. You could push it back and try some sealant on there but you’d be spending the same amount of time as replacement. So whichever works best for you. Harnesses aren’t to $$$$.

    Really enjoyed your video! Contemplating on trying this job myself. Do u think it would help/hurt to spray some electric cleaner on the injector plug ins & put some dielectric grease on them? Or overkill? Also if any oil get in any of those torx or allen screw holes should they be cleanned with some kind of spray & air blown out? Or a little oil won't hurt & they'll torque down just fine? Thanks again brother!

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Před 3 lety +1

      Great question man and thanks for reaching out. The injectors are being splashed around with oil constantly by the valve train so oil on the small connections won’t hurt them. They will secure just fine. But if you wanted to put die grease on something, the cannon plug connector would be best .as long as it’s dry inside. It’s not a very in depth job and doesn’t require some crazy amount of work so you got this. I believe in you. Stay motivated abs stay safe out there.

    I’ve seen techs that say I can test my NoX sensor outlet by removing it from its port and letting it lay outside the port in the fresh air while you do a regen.
    If I can do a regen with the outlet NoX sensor uninstalled couldn’t I just zip tie it to something and drive it to the shop after a regen cleared the codes?

    What would a failing harness do? Anycodes? If it's just leaking, can you replace that seal? If you can buy it

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Před rokem

      Great question, that seal can’t be replaced so getting a harness is the only fix. If it’s leaking it won’t throw any codes. If the harness failed internally than yes you’ll get injector codes.

  • @suavehouseboxing4777
    @suavehouseboxing4777 Před 2 lety +1

    Can you change just the outside harness or you have to change out the hole thing. Not oil leak inside injector harness but do have a oil wetness on the outside of the harness injector, just like this video

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Před 2 lety

      If oil is just leaking past the seal of he inj harness than you would still have to replace both inj harnesses. But not the engine sensor harness. If oil is going through the Eng sensor harness than I’d recommend replacing that to.

Is it mandatory to change all kit harness what you did or you can just change that small two round guskets located on those holes ? Second question is how much torque is when you tighten up those bolts? And last question is what size are those alan wrench? Thanks in advance

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Před 3 lety +1

      Thanks for watching and reaching out man. Are use a T 25 and the 5/32 Alan for that harness. The harness is a one piece item so the seals don’t come separately. If you can find a way to reseal it but you’ll save some money but the harnesses are cheap anyway. The Allen bolts torque to 7 foot pounds and the tops of the injectors are 17 inch pounds. Hope that helps man.

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228

      Thanks for reaching out and the support. Regarding your question. If it’s not throwing and erroneous codes than you will be safe with just cleaning it and replace the injector harness. I would also check your oil pressure sensor as this is also a very common place for oil to come through the sensor and to the mcm.

    Hello I got a question. I did a replace a number 3 injector, replace the injector harness, replace the fuel line, and the after I replace it put everything back together and I try to start a truck . It will crank couple times,( weak crank )and stop cranking and it won’t let me start a truck, did pump the fuel try to start the truck through there starter and it won’t start, I didn’t programmed the new injector in the computer, do you think it will be the problem that the truck won’t start or could be anything else, maybe the starter but before I did this job, the truck start fine. • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Před rokem

      If you wanted to put them only on the outside of the cannon plug connectors than they could possibly seal better. But a lot of times oil will leak through the harness and there’s no helping that besides replacing inj harness.

  • @kellyhoneyfeloncdljourney

    Hello, I have another question. On the D13 motor their is a hose of some kind, it starts at the top front of the motor (looks like some kinda brass connector thing or something), turns that corner at the driver side, above the alternator and ends down low, it is straped to the block, it feels like it might be steel braided but I could be wrong. Anyways, I think mine is leaking. I noticed a wet spot that looks like it originates at that front corner above the alternator, also at that spot where it turns, where the hose bends for that turn, it looks and feels like it has abrasiones so I think that is where it may be leaking.
    Honestly, I hope that is what it is and that it aint nothing else. The oil level does not change on the dip stick and I never see any kinda puddles on the ground. Hoping I can change that hose and fix the leak but honestly I don't even know what that hose is.
    Thanks for your videos and your time.

    • @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228
      @bustedknucklebydieseldr3228  Před 2 lety

      I believe what your describing is the engine sensor harness. Usually on the d13s this will have oil intrusion from going into the valve cover and spreads down throughout the harness. If this is the case than the only fix is to replace the entire harness.

But while they are there it would be a good time to run an overhead adjustment and make sure all your valves are adjusted correctly. Fuel economy and power suffer when there off.
