    After a little research I found that all oil is dialect and won't harm electrical components. I think what happened is you just had a bad harness. Just my opinion. But it's a good idea to change out any leaking components.

    Isn’t motor oil dielectric and the whole idea of oil contamination moot? Injector harness has open connections and floats in oil and it’s supposed to do that. All signalling is ok. Oil contamination with wear metals doesn’t affect anything.

      Saul, you are partially correct. The oil in the injector harness isn’t the problem. The problem is mainly when the oil makes its way into the main engine harness and down towards the MCM/ECM.
      Then you will have issues with resistance, fault codes and other issues.

New lines here in USA are months and months away from receiving.🤨. What makes the 'used' injectors leak when reinstalled ? I have access to 4 used engines here, lines don't leak.

    Hello great video, I currently have a caterpillar excavator that brings up a intermittent fault when tracking. The fault code relates to “engine exhaust gas recirculation mass flow rate, not responding” when this happens, the machine starts to die down like a fuel problem. I think it’s in some kind of limp mode,any ideas where to start? As I say it’s a intermittent fault and will only happen a couple of times a day when I’m tracking the machine. I then have to switch the machine off and let it reset for a minute. When I start the machine back up it has reset and I’m good to go again. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

    Does the oil leak thru the harness to the ECM or on it? Is the short at the ECM or in the injector harnesses? I'm confused as to how the injector harnesses cause a EGR valve actuator code.

    • @CarlosDieselElectric
      @CarlosDieselElectric  Před 2 lety +1

      Oil at the injector or around the injector harness is normal. It should be contained within the housing, but over time the oil will make its way into harness (thru) via the injector harness and then makes its way into the main harness at the connection. That is where the problems start, oil will make its way down towards the MCM and then can contaminate or damage the MCM/ECM.
      The reason I change the injector harness in addition to the main harness is because this is the source or point of entry. Now if you want to only change the main harness that’s fine. But you are not addressing the root cause. So I will always change both harnesses.
      The problem the oil cause down at the MCM is it starts to make false contact.
      Hope that answers the questions. I know my answer is long.
