Today, let's talk about the best champions in the game for patch 9.16 and patch 9.17. This is a tier list, meaning that we are going to take a tier list for patch 9.16, and talk about the most op champions for climbing ranked solo queue. Let's talk about the most op champions in league of legends, and the current best meta champions. We will be covering the best champions and champions that need nerfs for patch 9.17 such as Kai'Sa, Kha'Zix, Riven, Janna and Mordekaiser. Edit - I didn't include Riven because she was nerfed this patch and the early signs is that her win rate fell quite a bit (her win rate is lower than akali ryze and ornn)
However, a similar thing did happen with her win rate the first time they gave her changes, so maybe she'll rise back up after a couple of weeks, so we will have to see where it is! Might make a follow up video on her separately after her nerfs on patch 9.16

to be fair, thatd be crippling on some champions. like twisted fate, being able to run people down with that gold card is his gimmick. -5 movespeed on him means he cant run down as many people, and make rapidfire cannon basically mandatory on him. not that it isnt already but i digress

Kai'sa: Most overloaded kit ever released
Senna: You know, i am something of an overloaded champ myself
Kaisa wins because all that senna has is a trade, she lost Atack speed, she lost critc damage, she lost AD P/ level and has a big mana cost but can't build mana itens because she can't get manamune very fast and there is no other mana iten to an ad champion in the game that is not to expensive for a suport (and if she is playing as a adc, she do not have a good DPS and has less souls for her passive, also there is better itens then the mana ones). If she go for a mor support build then she can get more mana but lost damage, again, she gains things but lost others, its very much a trade, kaisa just have a lot of stuff for no fucking reason. But she is very op and need nerfs anyways cus her numbers are tooooo big

The skill of the average ranked player(which statistically speaking is somewhere around silver) is more than enough to make pyke an annoying, toxic, unfun experience for anyone that plays against him.
A really good way to counter pyke is have lots of cc and buy zhonyas for his ult.

Now that Aatrox's revive gone, rework his ult so his theme song plays when he casts it now, I missed the music :(
I played Aatrox few days ago, I was shocked that he no longer revives, just how many times a season Riot can change champion's abilities :D

@@darthmisogyny3828 having a guaranteed escape from death was never fun. Shouldn't be allowed. Even GA Immobilizes you, but nah, they had to make you able to move while reviving. Remove the movement, make the revive only happen on takedowns and we're good

@Valek O'Keefe Totally agree, win rate means nothing, at least on such champions. But still, Irelia looses a lot of her matchups if only get opponent isn't trash. If she snowballs tho she becomes very fucking strong, that's unhealthy for the game imo as well. Still, I'd really prefer not to see any more nerfs, I'd love to see something like adjusting her passive since it's very strong but buffing the Q dmg on minions. As for riven, she's just god tier, 55% win rate in diamond+ and 57% in gm+. I know very little people play in those brackets but still...

CDR on every items is also a problem that no one seems to notice.
It used to be a choice to go 45% cdr. Now you can get trinity & sho'jin and 1V9...
And some runes are broken, like tenacity.
Glad I'm not the only one who noticed this.
Back in the earlier seasons, mages basically picked between CDR and tons of mana/regen for their main mana item. I remember maxing out at 10-30% in most games, and I had to make a huge effort to actually build a lot of CDR. Now you can build one lost chapter item and it solves all your early mana problems and builds into a guaranteed 20%.
Item power creep is definitely a thing, especially with CDR.

Earlier today i played against a Jax who just bought Trinity and Shojins first and started being able to 1v5 because he had his E three times per fight. Pretty hard to be an auto-based champion when your autos hardly ever hit. The only times we managed to kill him was when he dived turrets and got stunned. So yeah. A Jax who was bad enough to try and towerdive full health Pantheon and Leona was 1v5ing. Anyone see a problem?

Pyke has stealth, dash- stun, hook, movement speed, health regen, execute, gold bonuses, stupid overloaded they actually need to gut this champ
u don't know what is overloaded. Look at bounty hunter of Dota 2 is pyke, but without the need of taking the kills and 100% crit prob without any object in every single hit xD
stealth has a HUGE reveal radius, dash cooldown is way too long so you can only use dash stun as a disengage, hook is charge-up so you hafta cancel your stealth and you are slowed while you charge it, making you exposed and predictable, move speed is admittingly good, but decays incredibly fast, regen is only possible to use if you get the new season 11 duskblade mid game, execute is health based, so it is useless against tanks, and late game once you have full items the extra items are useless. also the execute blinks you to the middle of the X, so going on and trying to 1v3 will just get you killed.
Guy cant even build health if you fail to kill him late thata on you.
Anyone been noticing that the majority of the problematic champions having overloaded kits are recently released/reworked champions? Power Creep is not handled properly in Riot. Overloading a champion with abilities doesn't make it 'fresh', it just makes it frustrating to play with, against and watch. We don't need a constant stream of half baked champions, riot. We just need a good balance, with new and refreshing champion design that doesn't just have a bunch of mobility and damage and/or sustain.
Pantheon, Kayle, Neeko, Nunu (without the bug), and Mordekaiser are pretty balanced
@@razorripper8830 pantheon is debatable (his e is stronk, but rest is fine?), kayle is overpowered late, neeko ult has a stupid ap ratio, nunu is ok (without bug), morde is broken. his ult shouldn't exist.
That's because they are reworking champions.
Autumn Grace not to mention kaisa too. Neeko shouldn't even have an on hit passive, she's supposed to be an ap stealth assassin but with that damn on hit passive she becomes kennen v2
@@razorripper8830 Pantheon has a 45% winrate in top and an STUPIDLY LOW 41% WINRATE in jungle; Kayle needed 4 patches to be "Balanced" and she's being reworked in the pbe, so look forward to that; Neeko needed 7 Patches, to still be slightly less op than her release, Mordekaiser had a 56% winrate on his release and had to be hotfix in 2 hours, then, after 5 patches, he has a 51% winrate global, but his ulti is still WAY TOO OP for its utility

@@Awellneededsmoke All point and click hard cc's or insane dmg tools like Kai'sa Q, Sylas W, Fizz Q, Malzahar R and stuff like that. It's not a skill to hit these and it's extremely frustrating. Zoe W isn't that strong anymore and is (imo) well balanced I hate her kit tho and they should give it a mini rework (And I main Zoe so I know what I'm saying)

Morde in a nutshell: 0-3, press R on ADC, miss e, miss q, still kill ADC, get gold, win game
Till they buy a 1300 gold item that also gives mr that makes morde 100% impossible to not get kited

On lane is a freaking bully ( no cost or even CD on his Q that allows him to AOE btw ) he can permaheal thanks to his W and shield him, his E is like Swain's E but on steroids, and also yeah you can escape his R with qss but the item wont allow you to stop morde from stealing your stats because his R is also like Trundle's one. I dont want to be rude but the people that defend morde are literally retarded and braindead.
Also his E passive gives him magic pen for literally no reason, and also he do a lot of damage with his aa thanks to that his passive also turns how much ap he have into ad so yeah good job riot you made a champ that literally dont have any weak points, maybe the only one is that he dont have any dashes but why should he need dashes when he have his R, right?

I just play a game like you described (as morde), won every mid to late game team fight. Dumb champ, but the free LP feels good.
I love how when yuumi came out everyone was like 'wow, yuumi is so weak.' And now they be like 'RIOT WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!? REMOVE YUUMI FROM THE GAME ALREADY! YUUMI TOO STRONG!'

I recently hit D2 with Katarina and gotta say she is as strong as ever. But even so you will hear so many kata mains say she is underpowered just because they can't seem to climb with her.

@@Exil22 Kata is a solid pick but has a very weak laning phase. Additionally, she has a lot of counter picks from Diana, Fizz, Kassadin, Vladimir, Le blanc etc.
most of the time your team is complacent even in high Diamond take it from a Kat main. I could push all day long and still lose cuz my team doesn't take objectives as fast as the enemy team does.
@@gerome022 Sorry but ever heard of pushing and then roaming. You can dodge almost all of the really key spells of those champs. For Kassadin and Vlad it's more of a problem with those specific champions. But in general, isn't it good that champions have counters
@@edde2429 Diana, Fizz and Akali (out maneuvers you or out damages your champ, or both). You could outplay them when they make a mistake or their jungler ganks with low hp but the chances are low. Also I said my team doesn't capitalize on leads by taking objective as fast as they could.

@@gerome022 I might have been unclear. My point is that since Katarina has a blink it let's her avoid a lot of abilities. You can dodge the skillshots of both Fizz and Diana. As for Akali I can agree that she counters you since her Q has such a low cooldown making her waste it isn't very punishing. As for your teammates it's not a justification to call someone underpowered. (Also you could look at all the skillshotmages (ex Syndra, Orianna, Zoe, Ahri, Lux, Malzahar, Taliyah, Velkoz) who most get countered by Kat since they can't land crucial abilities (or don't have) on her so imo she counters more mids than she gets countered by but that's just my opinion)
TLDR: All new champs basically (except Panth. i feel like hes pretty weak/abusable compared to the old one)

LlamaLegend I'm assuming this may be a lower rank mindset? I'm currently sliver so maybe people my rank tend to not get her. I've gotten "troll pic" and rude behaviour more times than I can count lol.
@@Angelic_Materia nami is broken against most poke/shield supports since they always get outtraded by just the heal.But she is garbage against engage like blitz, nauti pyke or leona thats her balance (which is a really bad one since you are either op or useless).
Also she has a kinda bad lategame compared to other enchant supports

@@Draconic_Aura well yes, you do outscale engage support but you will still have no fun in lane and if you go for lategame why not just pick a strong lategame support like janna lulu or soraka which also all survive all ins better.

Singed winrate is 52-50% on Lolalytics, higher sample size than U.GG which has been shown to be inaccurate in the past due to lower sample size. Also his winrate is decreasing as the patch goes on, starting at 55% ish on the first day and gradually lowering to what it is now, around 52-50%

Even riot said that Riven is more of a regional problem as NA is the only server where ppl rly complain about her, and there are only a handfull of mage's who are broken, well mainly vlad(even tho he's more of a ap bruiser) tbh, and i have no idea who in riot thought kass needed buffs, other that that mage's in general are balanced

oh yeah agreed, vlad does need heavy nerfs to his late, if they refuse to nerf his dmg they need to target his sustain throughout the game, vlad can be played way to safe aswell and you can't punish his early then unless you counter pick him specifically or maybe add anti healing to oblivion orb itself so you don't have to finish morellos to finally get his healing down and actually be able to fight him

honestly outside aftershock lissandra was fine, that rune just broke her as you just got free 70 resistances and a shockwave same thing happened with lux they rly need to change they way aftershock works (with ranged champs mostly) before it brakes even more champs
Only one I disagree with is the Kha'zix buff. He had so many weaknesses early game in a meta where early game junglers are the best so he was easy to exploit. It was already hard to gank with him early game and his clears certainly aren't fast until after 6. Many felt that his Q buff was a bandaid for much bigger problems, and he's not even that easy to play.
I also think Riot needs to stop slapping on stealth/stealth like abilities to all their new champions. Stealth = win

Kha'zix's 90% slow is the same as nasus's. The difference is nasus is a slow immobile guy and kha'zix has a jump, and stealth with a movement speed steroid on it.
@@antoniobaak146 As if you're going to evolve W first, don't forget he has 3 evolves and most of the times the game ends before he gets to pick the 3rd evolve. I've been climbing with just Q > E evolve for drake control and mobility, if you wanna evolve W first go aram then.

Kha is really easy to play. Also why do some champions need to be strong in every meta? Kha was not weak he did not need any buff. Other champions are forgotten about and this season you only see the same champions and same meta. Why not allow others to shine aswell instead of this pool of champions that are buffed/nerfed on repeat.

That is exactly the issue with new reworks and champions. They release them with overloaded kids and then they strip things away. Irelia and Akali are the prime examples of their new champion balance ideology.
Feels like Riot forgot how to actually balance the game and just go for the 10-dash-high-damage "OH MY GOD WHAT WAS THAT OUTPLAY HE DASHED AND DASHED AND FLASHED TO DASHED AGAIN" type of champion.

Neeko wasn't that bad tbh. It was mainly the fact that her W passive stacked when her auto attack hit rather than when she launched the auto, so it led to weird situations with guinsoos where it would proc multiple times due to how many autos were in air currently. They should have made it function normally rather than trying some weird bullshit.
@@SuperGuldo I want more Champions like Singed, who's simple, but you can do a lot with him. Heck, even more like Garen and Mundo would be nice since I enjoy Champions who are straightforward without a lot of 'what-ifs' to their kits.

Most of my friends who play Yi seem to effortless dominate due to how his Q works and his ultimate gives him true damage. How should I play to minimize his effectiveness?

@@2BsYummySoles Only thing you can really do is hard CC and burst him since he's kinda squishy. Look out for when he likes to use his Q to secure that you land your abilities.(Usually, immediately when in range or to finish off a chase are the most common timings).
Also, if you're trying to escape use your dashes before or after his Q, otherwise you might just drag him with you.

Vlad's weakness is needing CDR, except with the right rune set up he only needs to spend 1700 gold and hit level 10.... what a great weakness, much counterplay considering he's almost impossible to gank with pool and can sustain himself through almost any lane with his Q

The nerf is pretty much unnoticeable, she can stil go for the shojin build if it really hurts her body timings, or just still get perma Qs early in the game

I think that the only REALLY strong thing on Singed is his W. Such an amazing grounded+60% slow on rank 1 for just 60 mana is nothing to look over.
His Q damage gets demolished by adaptive helmet, his E and ult could stay the same and his passive was never an problem.
maybe lowering the W slow on rank 1 to 40% and increasing it by 5% per rank back to 60% on rank 5 is fair

yeah, i played some days ago against a morde, as gp, pure coincidence, don't know who picked first but if i was the last i wasn't couter picking, i legit queued up to play gp, but all and all i was ulted only twice during the entire game, cuz vitamine C was too op and i was like, sike, to his engage
It's true but also, items are supposed to be something that improve your character as a whole. Having an ability that can only be counter by sacrificing an item slot to the same shadow realm he's dragging you into is kinda unhealthy, imo. Zed falls into a similar category there where his ult can really only be countered via Exhaust or Zhonyas. And it's not the same same as, "Oh, they have alot of AD on their team, I'll buy a little more armor". It's more like, "Oh shit. I'm an AP Carry without Cleanse because I took Ignite because I still need kill potential but because Morde is focusing me, I have to build an item that doesn't even build into an AP item", essentially making Morde's target weaker simply by picking him because that's the only way to counter him without a built in Cleanse. I don't know if Spell Shields block it though. Does Morgana's Black Shield block it? That might be a decent counter pick to him in that case.
That being said, as a Soraka player, it feels bad to have your ADC trapped in the Shadow Realm and you can't even help them. I don't even know if you can use Mikael's Crucible to save them from it. Luckily, as a support player, I'm not often the target of Morde's Ult and thus can still help my team and even setup an ambush for Morde exiting his ult... Which I've done a few times whether the Ulted target lived or not.
@@TheSylveonSurfer 8months old reply but still, Morgana shield works. Morde ult is just a CC, if you black shield after the ult is cast but before your adc is sent to the shadow realm (yes that's tricky) Morde basically wasted his ult. If you black shield before, Morde can't cast it. Sivir shield works too.

How is Morde's ult broken? You can qss it, stopwatch/hourglass while he's in the animation or move (flash?) out of vision. Also, just pick GP into him 🤷🏼♂️
he can ult your whole team, not only you, he will get kills no matter what
BrEAkDoWn I’ve seen so many Mordekaisers get killed in their ults. It’s not the ult that’s op. It’s his passive.
Lmao if you pick gp then he's just gonna easily 1v1 you because his base stats are better than anything you can buy early game. A 3 0 GP will always lose to a 0 3 morde after he gets 6. Even if you do w, he steals 10 percent of all your stats and that means 10 percent of your hp is gone.
@@luv83 Trust me, I've played the lane as Morde and as GP. All GP is gonna do is get pushed and maybe lose some CS early. If you don't push as Morde, you'll get punished by GP Q.
