dude, you gotta thank god every day for the lift of bans!!
why? because believe it or not, we still have this bans in Iran (actually we had the bans since 42 years ago, but since 2017 we got a new ban law which doesn't let any car to import in our country)
so why you should be happy? because all the story I told you about resulted in having 3 major domestic car manufacturers, who make old, low powered, low security and functunality cars with a very high price tag. basically they got a monopoly, and with government become involved with them, they are now as powerful as ever, and wont answer to nobody!

Donut Media should make a video about the Emme Lotus, the Brazilian company that claimed to be building a Brazilian sedan powered by Lotus in the late 90's. The cars had a design suspiciously similar to the Volvo ECC (S80's concept car) and were powered by the same Lotus engine that was used in one of the Esprit versions. The hype for the cars were high in the country, even with the company sending an unit to a photo event at Monaco.
In the end, Emme simply vanished having made only 13 units of their car, rising tons of conspiracy theories and even doubts if Lotus was really involved with the project or had its name attached to the car without permission.
I had the privilege to see one of this rare cars parked in São Paulo. They do exist!

Puma also produced from 1974 to 1987 the GTB, a fiber glass body front engine coupe which was powered by a 6cylinder 250 c.i Chevrolet engine. Was kinda fancy at the time! It's biggest rival was the Santa Matilde SM 4.1, which was powered by the same engine and was fiber made as well. Both great (and expensive) cars at the time!
