Jing Okra does wonderful in large (22 gallon) pots. Tender and tastes great when picked at 3 to 5 inches. It's red but green after cooking. The plants and blooms are beautiful and I pair it with parsley and basil in large pots in my front foundation plants...just keep them lush and trimmed. So pretty, and I use the parsley for cooking year round...the freezes in Houston don't even phase it.

What could understood on this video was wonderfully informative. Sadly the second part was not understandable…. But what I could,…. with much difficulty, understand was so knowledgeable.
Thank you for at least that much information.

Jute is the common English name of the middle eastern malakia that he said. Really grows well, bake it before adding to soups or stir fries to knock down the slime. Same for malabar and okra

Pill bugs love dragon tongue beans. They devour the beans that touch the ground and later the stems of the plant. Be cautious with that variety or plant a different bush bean instead if you don't want the hassle.

The soil in Texas varies drastically, depending on specific location. Also when they build new homes and clear land, they scrape off aallllll the good topsoil so you basically have to start from scratch. I have clay with pockets of sand. Start building on it now. Anytime you have some extra money and/or time, just start throwing down some organic mulch here and there, and occasionally compost, right on top of the clay. The more, the better. Also, drainage. Really pay attention to anywhere water pools when it rains, because it just sits on that damn clay and will drown out your plants if you don't improve the water flow in the area. Those are the most important steps before doing anything down here. I've been slowly working on mine for years, but I have pretty huge beds I've been building up. It's a process, lots of sweat, but it's such a great feeling when you first go to dig for spring planting, and see how it's been magically transformed into beautiful, rich soil.
...or just build raised beds. 🙃😂

@@laurelweiner8 well, that's what I've been told and I even bought seeds from bakers Creek. They suggest you harvest before blooming to limit the spread. Ha They came up beautifully in some pots and when I was getting ready to harvest some, an insect ate all the leaves off so I have a bunch of stems?! I see beautiful sprawling plants in places where I wouldn't dare harvest it, like industrial areas. I can grow peppers (don't like sweet ones though), okra, tomatoes as long as they're small, radishes and blackberries. Ha ha I want to grow greens at home. The European cabbage moth is the bane of my existence! Hope you get to enjoy lots of lovely purslane. Cheers
