Have you heard of using living bamboo as a trellis system?
I have read that orchards cannot get insurance on their crop if they have mulch based on the false idea that mulch insulates the tree from geothermal heat, which is believed to encourage limb death by freezing.
That might explain why you see bare soil under the trees in the example picture.
What is your opinion on the commercial tree trimming company wood chips, and do you know of a list to get on to have them drop a load on the farm?
