About Neil Lennon:
Neil Lennon is a successful football coach and former player hailing from Northern Ireland. With an illustrious playing career and an equally impressive coaching record, Lennon has left an indelible mark on the sport.
Neil Lennon's Early Playing Career:
Neil Lennon began his football career in England, representing Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra, and Leicester City. His performances on the pitch earned him a move to Scottish giants Celtic in 2000. Over the course of six years, Lennon made more than 200 appearances for the club, and in 2005, he was appointed as the captain.
Apart from his club career, Lennon also represented the Northern Ireland national team, earning 40 caps and scoring two goals over nine years.
Transition to Coaching:
Lennon transitioned into coaching in March 2010, when he was appointed as the caretaker manager of his former club, Celtic. This appointment followed the departure of Tony Mowbray. Lennon's tenure as Celtic manager proved to be successful as he won three Scottish league championships, two Scottish Cups, and qualified for the group stage of the Champions League twice, making it to the knockout stages once. However, Lennon decided to leave the club in May 2014.
A brief stint in England saw Lennon managing Bolton Wanderers, but financial issues plagued the club, and his tenure there was short-lived. Lennon returned to Scottish football in 2016, this time joining Hibernian as head coach. Under his guidance, Hibernian achieved promotion back to the Scottish Premiership and secured European qualification in the following season. Lennon's time at Hibernian came to an end in January 2019.
Celtic Comeback and Beyond:
In February 2019, Lennon made a sensational return to Celtic, initially on an interim basis. He successfully guided the team to both the league and Scottish Cup titles. His contract was subsequently renewed, and Lennon continued his winning ways, securing another Scottish league title and a fourth consecutive domestic treble by also winning the League Cup and Scottish Cup in the 2019-20 season. Lennon eventually left Celtic in February 2021, as the team had fallen far behind rivals Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
Lennon made a comeback to football in March 2022, becoming the manager of Cypriot club Omonia. In less than three months, he led the club to win the Cypriot Cup - their first since 2012. However, Lennon's tenure at Omonia was cut short due to disappointing results in the domestic league, and he was sacked in October 2022.
Neil Lennon's journey through football as a player and coach has been marked by incredible highs and some challenging lows. From captaining Celtic as a player to leading them to multiple titles as a manager, Lennon has left an indelible mark on the world of football. His passion for the sport and desire to succeed make him a respected figure in the footballing community, and it is only a matter of time before Lennon finds his next opportunity to make an impact on the beautiful game. - Sport
This was excellent, Lenny will always be a legend in my eyes.
A bonafide legend ! About time he was invited back to Celtic park and the fans showed their appreciation for all he did for the club.
@@den264 agreed mate I hope he knows that most Celtic fans think he done a terrific job we can forgive for 1 bad season
@@biggiesmalls5895nah. He’s arrogant and cost us 10 in a row. He put himself before the club. Not a legend in my eyes.
100% agree with @Biggie Smalls. If this guy gets a job at a junior team, I’ll be surprised. Said he’d walk away in the October if it wasn’t working. Didn’t. Stayed until it was mathematically impossible, therefore got his bonus, paid off his debt.
He should never be allowed back at Glasgow Celtic for what he did, or in this case didn’t.........
@@thekurgan3688 Don't worry mate Ange is here for 10iar.

Loved that! Neil will be a Celtic legend forever. I said it at the time and I will say it now..those players chucking tools will leave a far sourer taste for me than Lennon ever will.
He said it perfectly..
“My record is as good as anybody’s at Celtic. 5 titles, 4 cups, champions league qualification and last 16, europa league runs, player sales”
Hail Hail Neil 🍀
Defo mate
100% mate. The players got away without any blame hardly. I had a sick feeling in my stomach when Lenny was getting it tough off our fans in his last season. Forever a legend
I know you'll read this Neil. Followed the hoops for 35 years and you sir are a Celtic Legend. Manager and player. 10 in the row was not to be . You can't blame one thing but a culmination off factors including covid not to mention really bad luck. You will always be in the hearts of the Celtic support. Your one of us. No one can ever say you never cared. Hope to see you at Paradise soon. You will be saluted. ☘

I'm glad you like him because he's returning to manage celtic at the end of the season when Ange leaves. It's no coincidence that lennon has suddenly started appearing in interviews. They're breaking it to you gently 🤣
@@johntate5050 Like him ? I LOVE all Celtic legends 💚💛
Great to hear you again Lenny. Forever Celtic.
His last season was awful for so many reasons but it was a necessary reset and that doesn't overshadow what he did as a player and in his two spells as manager. When he comes back to Parkhead, in an official capacity or as a guest, he'll be welcomed with open arms. Always and forever a Celtic legend. GBNL🍀
Sorry what did he do in his second spell as manager ? Mate do you remember the 20/21 season, huns...Ross county...ferencvaros...will I go on?
@@Elnino2910 as I said his last season was a shocker but I don't think it was all down to him. As for his second spell, he came in and steadied the ship after the Rat crawled down to England to chase a pay day, wrapped up the league won the Scottish Cup, then delivered a treble of his own. I think he's the first Celt to do that as a manager and a player. He also had an incredible Europa League group stage and led us to a first ever victory in Italy against Lazio. Brought in Frimpong, got a tidy fee for him and that deal will also give us another few quid when he gets sold this summer from Leverkusen. I'm not saying he didn't make mistakes but he done a lot of good things on and off the pitch for us on his second spell.
@@Elnino2910 he done the quadruple treble something no club ever done.. thank you very much Lennon 🍀✅✅
@@Elnino2910 he finished the quadruple treble ffs 😂😂. Won the double then a treble. What have you ever done for Celtic ?

Last 16 champions League. Got threw to the group stages of the Europa League. Qualified top. Your a legend.
Celtic fans are bitter because of the 10. Forget that. Your a legend. Top man
Reminds me of Ronaldo. 10 in a row destroyed his reputation and he made some bad choices with the drink. But sure, we have forgiven him and moved on.
Love you Lenny always have! The treatment you and others received was horrendous, people have short memories these days. Keep going big man! 🍀 🍀
lenny youl always be a hero for me . player and manager . class act . hh
Even though the season he managed last didn’t go well, we weren’t the same team in the covid season, most people would agree that, he was an amazing player and leader at Celtic and to think he masterminded that win against Barca in Europe, that moment will live forever for me, still have massive respect for Lenny 😁🍀💚
Will always be a legend !
Good to hear from Lenny.
Hail hail Neil. Legend. Always have always will be 💚👍

You are an absolute legend. The one and only. What. Player what a legend. Top man. Did not deserve to be treated the way you were. Celtic fans are a disgrace for how the treatment of you 💚💚💚💚💚
Agree ! Thankfully I was not one of them.
Board should have acted sooner instead of using him as a human shield
Great viewing. Lennon will always be a legend 🍀🇮🇪
As much as Lennon deserves respect for what he's done at celtic he's not entitled to be kept on due to what he accomplished in the past. Everyone was aware there was a massive overhaul required in the summer. I dont doubt players like Abada and Juarnovic had been scouted while lennon was still at the club but theres no way we would have got players like Kyogo, Maeda and Hatate without Postecoglu and also play a style of football that well exceeds anything Lennon or even Rodgers could provide.
Time has been a healer for my opinion of Neil Lennon but the right decision was made and Celtic have been much better off because of it.
First time checking in to the channel.
Top class interview with a top class manager and player. HH
100% you are a legend Lenny ❤

Brilliant superb thanks for all you done
the LEGEND that is Lenny !!! shocking what that man has had to endure because of "football" yet his eyes well up at the memory of loosing "A" game... kudos !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
See imo... The board done the right thing for the 10 season, we kept our tried and tested players who should have been able to win the league again. If we had sold them and brought in unknowns and it never worked out then they would have been slaughtered worse imo. Loads of factors in that season went against us, wasn't meant to be troops...Look at us now 👍💚🍀
Outstanding watch 👏🏻👏🏻🙏🏻🍀🏆🏆🏆🍀
Given Lennons achievements he is absolutely a Celtic legend. Never mind what he endured in his time in Scotland.
This was different class. loved it. Cheers Peter. Big fan of the show and was happy to shake your hand at the Billy McNeill statue unveiling in Bellshill a while back but Lenny is an absolute warrior. He has put up with things in life that no one should have to go through and anyone with a decent sense would never wish on another human being....But he was a great player and captain. Did it his way.
Brilliant! Great memories. Always a Celtic legend ☘️☘️. Agree about 2003 team.

Just caught this. Brilliant to see and hear from Lenny. Always a Celtic legend. Unfortunately large mouthed small brained people run the show on social media ...fickle world. Proper fans respect achievements and Lenny gave us many . I always use the Lazio reference to any negativity...you were a hero one minute , slated the next, and a victim of circumstances outwith anyone's control. I look forward to seeing Lenny at Celtic Park. Also wish him every happiness in life. Thank you Mr Neil Lennon for everything you have done 💚🍀
Really enjoyed this interview with Neil 👍👌

Massive Lennon fan but our current captain said TWICE publicly, we didn’t know what we were doing tactically. That should be talked about first and foremost. The players wanting to leave only came out after a big loss.
A lot of them were chasing more dough. Greed was bigger than Celtic.
A legend who is unfortunately remembered for his last mistake. Let’s not lose sight of all that he achieved both as a player and manager.
Great interview Peter , Lenny will always be a legend of our famous old club 🏴✊🏻🇮🇪

To PLZsoccer - Lenny done a decent job at Hibs, so IMO he is also entitled to be named former Hibs manager too. 😉
I'm a Celtic fan and agree with you. I saw a brilliant Hibs performance under Lennon in November 2016, playing an excellent passing game and winning 4-0.

Re 10iar...Gone

Great interview great man
Good interview that was
Neil Lennon as a player and manager helped Celtic win 10 league titles, 8 Scottish cups and 3 league cups. He still holds the Scottish record for champions League points in a season and is the only Celtic manager to win a European group. A poor last 6 months in charge cannot remove his many acheivements for Celtic.
As a Rangers man I love this guy, he's the old school of the Auld Firm, fight for 90 minutes and then let it go.
Celtic 2 - 1 Barcelona --- Best Celtic result past two decades. Never said a bad word about the man. I empathise with everything he says here. Will always have fraught feelings towards the fans who forgot what he did with our club.
There's only one Neil Lennon.
God Bless you Neil what you had to endure here was bigotry on stilts but your expected just to get on with it , could you imagine the support you would have had if it was racist behaviour instead of anti Catholic bigotry 🇮🇪☘️
If you go by what’s happened one of most successful managers brilliant player as well
H.H it's amazing how Sevco mob hated Neil but how much would they love to see Battle with Ange ☘️
Brilliant Peter...Lenny is a very erudite man, and he speaks well too....!!! There's only one Neil Lennon!!!
Will be remembered along with Lawwell for losing us 10 and having to be dragged out the front door, kicking and screaming. Awfully stubborn man (always has been) who unsurprisingly still refuses to take any accountability for the shambles that we had to endure that season.
The 20/21 season will go down in history as one of our worst ever if not the worst. Huns, Ross county, ferencvaros, I won’t go on. It’s partly Lawwell’s fault too, should never have appointed him but I forgot ‘he knows the city’.
Good man manager going by interviews from ex players but not a coach at all unlike big ange and the 🐀. This tends to mean Lenny’s effect as a manager coming in getting the players up for it again and playing Lennyball has a shelf life. Best of luck in the future to him, a great servant for the club but still can’t forgive him for the way he behaved in his last season.
Great watch😊
So was Rangers 72
Lenny a legend who can ever forget the night against Barca
I hope the day is soon that Neil is welcomed back at CP as the legend he is.
There was a lot of frustration around that season with the PLC , players , results , covid etc etc and Unfortunately Neil took the brunt of that frustration.
In my eyes he'll always be a Celtic hero. Hail , Hail.
The club formerly known as Rangers also had the same difficulties during the pandemic and ended up winning it
They thrived with no pressure from fans, they can have their Covid cup, 2 down 8 to go in Ange we trust 💪

and you have to give him credit rodgers done a 🌙 light left us in experience guy in JK as a manager.
and you have to be honest lenny always takes celtic call even in a bad situations and you have to to thank for me that❤
Lenny knows his football, he's brilliant as a pundit, great knowledge and very sharp, but it's obvious he struggles with the modern game and players. Completely agree with him on O'Neill's team Vs Ange, no contest.
Good comment and it's men v boys against ange,s team. Too much power for the wee skinny robot guys who play nowadays.
Nothing against Lenny, a Celtic legend he is and always will be. But I thought it was step back bringing him back.
And for all the variables and non football problems he speaks of, slating the players after the Ferencavros game was a big mistake and got the players offside very early in the season. The fact he started the same team a few days later at Motherwell made his comments even more baffling.
If players were pissed off because they were told they would be allowed to leave, slating them after a bad performance certainly wasn't the way to get them up for it.
More than a few of them were empty jerseys after that and Lenny needs to take a decent portion of the blame. It set the tone for the season that was to come.
Players should have manned up.They let us the fans down.Only worried about themselves and the next contract.
@@krismurray9345 half that crop didn’t really care about the 10 to be frank. Add to the Empty stadiums. Things would never have materialized If fans were in the seats demanding a reaction
@@oldpainless316 That's my point the players let us down.
The players absolutely have to take some of the blame as well. I'm just making the point that Lenny can't just blame the pandemic, he needs to accept some blame also along with the players and the board.
@@oldpainless316well Lenny said it there himself that there was a core who wanted away that summer and that didn't happen due to various reasons around COVID and clubs not willing to spend money, I'm not being an apologist for Lenny but that's a massive handicap when your main players don't 2ant to be there, Édouard, Christie, Ajer etc
People saying he shouldve left when it was obvious 10iar was going in the bin, maybe he offered to resign and wasnt allowed to (not sure if thats allowed?)
An absolute legend for us though, board have hung him out to dry by not having him back in front of fans in some way to give his say on what was happening at the club that season.
Always be a Celtic legend. There was a witch hunt going on against Lenny as part of project stop 10iar
Forever a Celt Neil 👍🍀
