Transcript from Hibs FC supporters' reaction to Nick Montgomery sacked.
My name is Stephen Young and I work for the Hibernian match program. Stephen, what's your reaction to the manager's departure? I'm quite happy about the fact that he's departed, but I'm less happy about the fact we had to lose another man. I mean, there does seem to be quite a few managers recently for Hibs. There's a constant overhaul, not just of managers, but of playing staff as well. I think the overhaul possibly has to happen a little bit higher up the tree.
And what about now? Obviously, it's time to see who's getting the job. Who would you like to see? I've got no idea, to be blunt. There's a lot of people down South. A lot of big names looking for jobs, and there's big names in Scotland looking for jobs. Fabase like Neil Lennon, were still sorry to see him go, but whether that would be too much of a risk for the club now, I don't know. People talk about McInnes and Robinson, but they'd have an awful lot to do to convince the support that they're the right people. The supporters are currently disenfranchised with the club, so there's a lot of hard work to do. They've got to get this appointment right, but I think they've got a couple of appointments that they need to make a little bit further up the tree.
Yeah, I mean, it seems like the conveyor belt of managers certainly doesn't help, and obviously, the product on the park hasn't been what fans would demand. So really, there's a period of stability that's required here.
The conveyor belt of managers turns into a conveyor belt of players as well, and you lose your identity as a club then because there aren't any heroes at Easter Road now, and that's hard to swallow. There's no youth coming through either, so there's something wrong with the structure of the club at all levels of management, not just the manager. At all levels.
Whether it's coaching staff or the high-up people that are making these appointments and getting them wrong, why are they still on the job?
Well we need to change this. Let's get someone in pre-season, get other the team assembled, and take it from there.
It's been pretty poor this season hasn't it?
It sure has... It sure has... I'm just away to get my tickets for Sunday, so I'll be there tomorrow night. Big talk now is Derek McInnes, maybe.
I didn't really like the guy, but he seems to get the team going, and we need experience. We maybe get a good team on the park, which every Hibs fan deserves to see.
Is it a bit more likely, getting somebody like Derek McInnes, given the financial position of the club?
Well, they should be in a good financial position. Supposedly, the fans are here every season, so it's time we got prepared with some big signings and some decent football on the park.

Rumours coming from the eastend of Glasgow that both O Riely and Kyogo want to leave Celtic Park 🤔

With the key word in your comment being *’rumours.’* Because there is no way in hell that even if *Kyoko* did indeed “want out” that Celtic would let him skip anyway. Though I do agree that *M. O'Riley* will follow the money & be playing with some team in the *EPL* next season, for sure.

managing a team with no fans is a dream job ? the squad and the new squad when it arrives would be his picking . If I was a manager I think I would be wanting to be the hibs manager .

@@nickwatson2167 Hibs is a toxic job now.
Nondecent manager in their right mind are going there unless they get given a 5 year contract with no sackings for 3 years OR a guarenteed HUGE payout if the club gets rid when the fans don't get their treble by October.
The Hibs fans are mental also.
No loyalty at that club from the Board, players and fans.
It is a job to stay clear of.

@@nickwatson2167 you honestly think DelBoy would get to pick his own squad, and would be happy with a current first team squad of around 45 players? At Killie he gets to do what he wants, when he wants, the van Veen transfer showed that. If I was a manager I’d wouldn’t be leaving any job to take the Hibs job currently.

@@johnkeilloh2682 You are totally incorrect with everything you are saying . Its like saying I wouldn't leave Hibs to join Celtic cause there squad is too large lol . Its all about this £ . Kilmarnock dont have that , I thought Kilmarnock were about to go pop again . A squad wage that didn't account for the amount of fans or season tickets , In Derek they got lucky . I wanted him before the unknowns that were floated about the previous 5 times . Pretty obvious why . As for he wont get to pick the players coming to the club . We are not owned by Romanovs . Malky will search with scouts , McInnes would get the choice and final say . Unless you have information saying otherwise and if so I want the source or walk

Lennon for his record against the ugly sisters surely has to be in contention ? It will be some unknown again with no track record , pure punt in the dark . Notice the last failures have all spoke a good game and had the same crap speeches to make . And all had the same thing in common . They were all out of their depth . Someone who knows the SPL and the Scottish game . There is only two . McInnes and Lennon . Watch this it will be David martindale lol The 8 million is in the bank and we are only allowed to spend the interest . He will be on Hibs tv pleading poverty lol come on board get it right for once eh

Monty wasn't an unknown and has a track record. Until today, he was the only manager outside the ugly sisters bosses who had won a league title in a competitive league.
Ross was the best Hibs had and look how the fans and board treated him.

@@jacksonbow2766 quite strange my comment disappeared ? Yeh monty was an unknown from pure obscurity . Manager of a club in an amateur league . Ross was another manager gripped from obscurity , both like the other clowns that got the boot could do a great speech . could do the talk but couldn't do the walk . Ross was the best ? Really ? the best at what , getting the club beat in finals . he was dire .

@nickwatson2167 Ross only got 1 full season and got you 3rd in that season. He got you 2 finals (only allowed to manage in 1). Semis of the others.
A club of Hibs size should be aiming for Semis every season and top 4.
Ross acheived that. His football may not have been easy on the eye but he did what the club should be doing.
Lennon etc. Were hit n miss.
A large section of Hibs fans have ram out so managers now in short periods that they have made the job a risky one.
