@@jjs1300000Mostly Otto because he's milking his teenage daughter to marry Viserys who's still grieving over his death wife. And he's also corrupt poor Alicent to hate Rhaenyra. Both of the girls tried to be best friend again but times changed people.
I like the chnage they made to having Allicient and Rheanyra actually grow up together and have a friendship. It makes the inevitable war all the more tragic when in reality it started of as Two friends.
They actually did bond together during early life in the book, but alicent was already a grown up and rhaenyra a kid.
This gave such a beautiful insight into the bond they had as friends and the bond they inevitabally share as women. To bad they couldn't put their differences aside and be each others allies and instead followed the rules the men had set to work against them. Neither won in the end.
A bit more complicated then that. Poor communication and questionable decisions also played a part.
Otto being in Alicent's ear certainly didn't help things.
Saddest part is how their friendship ended
And how their overall relationships will end.

I love how in this scene Alicent is still wearing the colors of the Targaryen's black and red, signifying exactly where her loyalties still lie as of this moment. She truly is Rhaenyra's friend at this point in time
She still takes orders from her father, her loyalties are with the Hightowers never with the Targaryens.

Even if I’ve become wary of/opposed to about 80-90% of changes made to the ASOIAF lore since partway through GoT, changing the nature of Rhaenyra’s and Alicent’s relationship to “childhood friends turned bitter rivals/enemies” is a change I do support and think is an improvement. It adds another level of tragedy to the Dance of the Dragons
And then they had no conflict and they spent the rest of their days happy and eating cake, the end

i love them so much together, they have such connection and chemistry!!! 💜💜
Totally shipping them, they are so cute together, and would’ve loved to see them have a secret romantic relationship. Also just wish more young girls in general would get together, cause girls mature faster than boys, and it’s a great way to get some experience, with someone you already trust and who you’re very close with anyway, as many girls are.
The behind the scenes both of them are having a blast.

I seriously wish that we'd gotten a full season of younger Alicent and Rhaenyra. I get that there's not that much "action" at that time, but there could've been such interesting political and emotional arcs. To satisfy people who want fight scenes, make more than two scenes of Daemon's war. If you're going to fundamentally change the dynamic between Rhaenyra and Alicent, then take the time to show that changing!

How did the conflict of the Westeros went from 2 former best friends try to ruin each other's life with their family to a guy who can't get over thar he's in the friendzone forever and caused the wars in 7 Kingdoms?
How do you view Rhaenyra's they "don't fawn over me: they only want my name and my Valyrian blood for their offspring"? Is she supposed to be wise/insightful (seeing the truth of things)? Naive (many highborn lords feel the same and don't necessarily have a choice in their bride, either, e.g. Ned; it's far from equal, but it's not only because she's a woman)? Romantic (wanting someone who cares about the "true me" rather your name/role)?
As for the latter, maybe things would have worked out better had they (including her) decided on a narrower range of candidates who could actually spend some time with her rather than trying to woo her in front of dozens of fellow suitors.

I'm definitely team Black and Rhaenyra certainly has a right to be frustrated, but I get why Alicent was upset by her remark. Being imprisoned to squeeze out heirs is what happened to her.
Why was her mother so abusive that she thought only thing a mother had to do was squeeze out heirs ? Or did she torture her mother so much that the image of a castle where she spends time with her loved ones and children frighten her so ?
@@jai-kk5uu It´s understandable that Rhaenyra is scared of pregnancies and childbirth after that was the reason she lost her mother. Aemma Arryn had to endure so many stillbirths and miscarriages just because Viserys wanted a son. He cut her open for the little possibility that their child is a son.

The men in their lives completely ruined their relationship. Otto , Viserys, etc., if they just had each other none of this would've happened. I am glad the tide is turning and people are more nuance about this. Both of them are women, and can only have so little control of their lives.

There's no need to take everything seriously. Mine wasn't a serious comment. I know the story of Aurion and his disappearance. And we all suspect, like Rodrik the Reader, that Euron might've lied, but the possibility of him having been to Valyria makes him more interesting as a villain. It's seems too obvious that he lied. Not even a "omg he lied??? Twist." The real twist would be Euron having REALLY survived Valyria.

Worst Rhaenerya did was not tell Alicent that she was making out with Daemon and this comment who she clearly didn’t thought much about,on the other hand Alicent seduced her father all behind her back and made her son usurp her throne,it’s clear who is the bad one
