Several decades ago our great Kannadasan was playing with his children at his home being a holiday. Music director of Karnan , MSV came to his house and he was asked to come to the music studio. But Kannadasan said that he can't come as that day was a holiday for the Labourers(May day). But MSV insisted and cajoled Kannadasan, so he asked him to tell the tune. MSV immediately made a tune orally, explaining the situation of that song. Kannadasan too was a versatile , so at once he penned this song *_Iravum Nilavum VaLarattumay._* This song is in the Raagam Hamsanadam, a janyam of Melakarta Number 60 Neethi Mathi. Sung by T M Soundararajan and P Suseela. Being very successful, it was dubbed in Telugu also. The beauty of this song is very much connected to MAY . Every line is ending with *MAY*, as it was written by Kannadasan on *MAY day.

Comments by Rajagopal p 9710... how can you credit only MSV... Ramamoorthy...they were together then... Each of them were par excellence... There is a MSV group going about telling Ramamoorthy was just a drunkard... and do on.... I am great fan of both MSV and Ramamoorthy... Till Ramamoorthy was there together the sounding of orchestra arrangement were soft... MSV gave no doubt hits after hits but many songs were comparatively noisy. When they were together i dont know why you had to delete... Who gives you the right?
