Mr. Black, I want to sincerely thank you for channeling all of the frustration, anxiety, and anger that I feel into the ether for me. Were I to do the same for myself I am sure that I would be facing a jury of my peers for violating some social construct of deportment. Please continue this great service to society and accept our sincere gratitude.
What happened was that during the pandemic when everything was shut down.... especially sports. These people jumped on politics instead to get their fix. Now they treat politics like it's the NFL or NBA or Baseball. They treat politicians like they do with professional athletes. We gotta wait like 20-30 years for that era of weirdos to pass away. If said it a million times already. How we start solving this problem is to ban all politicians and their staff from social media and having podcasts. That's it. That's the start to return back to a balance.
There's no sugar coating here. Lewis is telling it like it is.

I remember as an 8 year old in 1988, having a teacher, showing a video on a reel to reel, of what used to be called global warming, now called climate change. With predictions of massive storms (check) extreme weather patterns (check) coastal regions flooding (check). And how at its current pace, my generation will see the results (check).
Yup. Here in Florida, we're getting flooding in places that never flooded before. So bad that they are creating a project on my county to install more drainages.
A transom is a window installed above a door. It is hinged on the bottom and tilts in. The were typically in hotels and allowed the tenents to leave the door at street level open, open the transom and the windows in their apartment. The hot air in the apartment would escape throgh the windows and cause cooler air to flow up the stairway.

Lewis was remarking about the humidity, which, I notice happens to look like it's been caused by atrough that stretched from the US east coast to the UK, where there has not been a summer, but we had near 100% humidity the last couple of weeks. I have no transom, thanks to upvc doors, but I still use the same ventillation method, by opening a downstairs window on the north side in the shade, and the loft hatch at the top of the stairs. I had not appreciated that this was what the old fanlights were used for all along! :)
The transom is also the back 'wall' of a small boat where the outboard motor attaches.

They were common in old houses, a working small window above a door. It was there to help transfer light to the next part of the hot use beyond the door, but more importantly it was openable to permit circulation throughout the home.

The investigation into January 6th is a long read but it does explain why the National Guard was not called. It's not a good answer but it is the answer.

These same politicians will be relatively unaffected by a lot of the pollution because of environmental racism -- people of color and people of little means are affected the most. Heat as well of course.

Lewis, use a separate waste bin to throw your used tissues that you blow you nose in. Package them up at the end of the month and have them delivered to the Heritage Foundation. Start a campaign to collect the asthma inhalers and pill bottles of the children around the country. Fill up a dump truck - should take less than a week of collecting - drive it to the Heritage Foundation's campus and dump it there. I'd be willing to donate $10 to help pay for the dumping fee if you are charged for it.
We have to stop the burning of oil products in this country. Congresscritters should have pressure put on them to stop oil subsidies. They should instead switch that money, and 95% of the department of war's budget to the solarization and battery backup of america - same as they found the funding to electrify america in the last century.

A transom, if I remember my college experience correctly, is a sort of openable window or panel over a door. It lets you get airflow without having to open your door to the public. Thanks, once again, Mr. Black, for making me feel a little less insane in this insane place.
Evidently the word has two meanings? because it's also the back wall of boat. on smaller boats it's where the outboard motor mounts on to.
Transom- is a window above a door that opens and closes.
It can also be the tail end of your boat the crossmember that connects both the left and the right side of the boat to the bottom of the hull at the stern.

I don’t know Louis I’m a black man and I’ve heard minority comedians make jokes about slavery. And I can laugh at it. I don’t know if I’m being biased or not but I don’t know I felt a little rubbed the wrong way with the comments about the benefits of slavery. I realize I perhaps shouldn’t feel this way, but I can’t help feeling this way.

TRANSOM: a small window above a door or larger window once common in offices (often left open to let in some fresh air). People could drop off letters or packages through this opening if the office was closed. --- Also, as you know, Idiom "over the transom" meaning unexpectedly, especially of a manuscript, story, etc. that is sent to a publisher - 'the collection arrived over the transom' -- Keep on keeping on! I enjoy your outrage.
