  • Feeder fishing on the iconic Isle of dogs in one of the very deep docks near Canary Wharf, in the London Docklands. A great bit of winter sport was had and I will definitely be back to do more videos.

      There is a lock, as the Thames has a huge tidal range there, the boats only get in and out at certain times.

    Your videos make me regret not fishing in London during my youth. I used to live in Greenwich then I moved away to Wales at 15 and I got into fishing. 30 now and moving to Newport so only a 2:30 drive to "see my mum"lol

    Some nice fish there Andy - especially the skimmers, and nice to see that you can now identify the bleak from the dace!
    I'll be hitting the Upper Lea in the Autumn (Broxbourne / St Margarets / Ware) for some dropshotting / lure fishing - maybe we can have a meet?
    Tight lines till then!

      Hi guys. It would be nice if you could help me with some information about some good spinning fishing places in London. I love your country and i come to visit it every summer. I tried river Cray and Medway last year, for pike and perch but with no luck... only 1 bite/river. The most confusing thing is, even with the rod licence, i dont know where i can fish only with the rod licence, or even pay a day ticket (for 1 day of fishing its not worth to buy a membership)... Found one place with day ticket on Medway, near TESTON, MAIDSTONE but its 1h drive from London, with no public transport :(. Do you guys know any good predator fishing with daytickets in London? On Thames, or other lakes? Im just a tourist and cant afford to spend half a day on the road to reach a fishing spot :( I can ask a friend to drive me, but not too far. Tnx!

      @@andreimorosan8884 Hi mate, Nearly all of the canals in London are available to fish on the "waterway wanderers permit" £20 for a year. I can recommend the river Lea Navigation in Hackney, the Regents Canal and Limehouse Cut. No where in London is easy to fish though some days you will blank. You must always take an unhooking mat and landing net too, all fish must be returned to the water.
      As a general rule there is no inland fishing that is uncontrolled there is a law from the 1800s that says all fishing rights are owned, leased pr managed by the land owner!
      Most of the day ticket venues I know that hold pike do not allow predator fishing during the summer! 👌

      @@TheBudgetAngler ty alot! I dont mind paying the wanderers permit. That's great! Found out some info about it on canalrivertrust.org.uk.
      On the canals that there is no lure fishing for predators allowed, i assume there are signs that inform anglers, right? I will try to test the locations you told me about. Ty alot for the info m8! I already have, in UK, a landing net but a fluffy towel will do as a unhooking mat? Or i could just get one cheap. Looking forward to visiting again and maybe hook a big perch or a pike... but first i need to find a fishable canal :D. Ty again!

    • @TheBudgetAngler
      @TheBudgetAngler  Před 4 lety +1

      @@andreimorosan8884 no problem mate, as far as I know lure fishing is allowed on all of the Canals inside the M25. Yes look out for signs, I know lure fishing is not permitted by some club controlled stretches of canals. As for a mat, You can get one very cheap, I actually use a travel baby change mat, it folds down very flat for when I am travelling by bike! Bigger mats are cheap online too 👍 tight lines mate, come and share your catches on The Budget Angler Community on Facebook 👍🎣
