- I venture out into London and onto the Thames riverbank with Matt, Zach and Danny, where improvisation took a turn to luck and the unexpected when I catch my first ever fish from the river; and a sizeable one too!! We kept fishing into the night and managed a good few decent fish, which made it my best day on any London river yet...

first time u ever get one on corn? when I fish the medway I always use feeder n corn
Top tip...find out the weight of your landing net top ...then weigh your fish in it .detach the handle of course, a bit less stress for the fish,less panic from onlookers, and easy 👍😉nice vlog

That was me and my mates 60 years ago, we used to go to Vauxhall Station, and got to Walton and Penton Hook fishing, if you like Bream fishing Penton Hook was the place in those days, Walton was pretty good.

Everyone is the fish police. It the same here in the states. Keep fishing and maybe educate them if you can...some just won't learn and not worth arguing with! Glad to see you enjoying the sport!

Fished there loads before there's huge bream in that swim also if you whack a live bait or a popped up dead under the jetty to the right there's massive pike underneath but it's really difficult to get them out but they are huge under their

Vitalin is dog food which you can buy at good pet stores, it will catch carp as well and last a long time,just keep the sack in a dry warm place.
From source to sea 'Old Father Thames' is stuffed with Bream. I my area 'Oxford' nets of 200lb + are not uncommon. Get in among them and keep regularly chucking in small amounts of ground bait they'll hang around all day/night.

If one good thing comes out of this pandemic madness, it's that it might give me enough time to figure out all of the urban fishing spots within walking distance. I know that there's all sorts of huge carp, pike, trout, salmon and other fish where I live and hope to figure out how to catch some before things return to normal.

@@east-midlandsbest-angler9301 So far just my first pike on a dead bait, though I saw two more. I think that I saw a few carp swimming about a week ago but the water is still really cold (we had 5cm snowfall yesterday)! Tried casting for trout and salmon in the big lake a few times but no luck yet (again very cold and sometimes contending with huge waves). Still optimistic over the next few month though.

@@Ernst_rohm I managed fifteen Chinook Salmon over two days in a local urban river this past September (that's not an unusual success rate during their spawning run) and caught a 22" brown casting into Lake Ontario about a week ago, but am told that they will be around for the next several weeks. I wasn't successful in my few outings for carp this past summer, but not for a lack of fish. I also managed several speckled trout during my first out of city trip in July and a bass at the in-law's cottage on the Thanksgiving weekend. Not bad for the amount of times that I got out but it hardly scratched the potential of what's out there. Fingers crossed for another brown or pike before winter sets in!

Cool I like your stuff. Was inspired to go to the likley small river where you had such sport with those trout and barbel. I fished about near the supermarket and after a bit got a bite which saw me landing a chub of about 4 n a half - 5 lbs Are there many this big there?
Holy hell mate did you really? Not only are there not that many of that SIZE, but there aren't that many of those fish in there at all by my experience...I've never caught a single chub outta there.

Cracking vid mate. All my fishing trips used to start from Vauxhall Stn ! Used to go to Richmond , Hampton Court , Staines , and Egham.
Thank you man, means a lot to know liked the vid :D Most likely my favourite one up til now too. I've only just begun to discover the Thames' fishing and all its glory. This was my first proper fishing trip there and that bream was my first ever Thames fish. Just like I said, I had no clue the day would turn out as awesome as it did..Big thanks to Matt for taking me to the place too or else imagine how much longer I might have gone without discovering how great it is to go to.
Used to fish that stretch in the early seventies had loads of fun but parking and people drove you mad dog walkers and runners bikes etc .

No, but even if it was crystal clear coarse fish like Bream, carp, roach etc. aren't really the type for eating anyway. If you want to catch fish to eat go sea fishing or for trout & Salmon (game fish)

Vital in and just a hand full o sweet corn works great, but soak the vitalin with just a touch of water so you can get it into small balls add just a few bits of corn , tight lines guys.

Because in the 1950s this river was declared a dead ecosystem and that it wasnt sustaining life now it has sharks and shit in it.
I couldn't think of a more depressing location to go fishing.

That place doesn't look very clean...People over there just can't mind their own business! I very rarely see another soul when I go out fishing unless I want too. And I thank God for that every day! I can't imagine having to put up with all the shit you guys do. I'd freak out and beat someone's ass...lol! You're a very patient young man!
I know what you mean, but I'm pretty sure fishing isn't allowed there. I live near the place he was filming and that area is always busy with pedestrians that was to be expected. Never seen anyone fishing near there.
