- UK river fishing with lures for pike and other species this time on the river Thames. It was just a quick lure river fishing session after work where we tried to catch a Zander, pike or perch on this beautiful river. The fishing started well, catching a nice river perch and a few small pike, but the biggest surprise was when my lure was hit by a massive Thames river wild trout, who put in a really good fight and tested my rod strength. Quick photo and back he went!
This lure fishing session ended with a few good fish on the bank and with Tibi losing a nice pike just before sunset.
No Zander this time but the quest for a big Zander with lures on the river continues!

I've always loved a good bit of spinner fishing! Especially the Thames! Have you ever tried The Thames but Oxford side? If so did you have much luck?đ
I have only been on that side 2 times and that was more than a year ago so donât have a lot of knowledge of that area.

Is that trout from the Thames though? bottom looks a bit chalkstreamy ? really interested in the story of this one, are we talking close to london or are you fishing further upstream. Not looking for your location in particular , but the area is of geographical interest.
