  • Testing a windscreen wiper arm puller tool. These tools are quite helpful when your wiper arm is stuck firmly onto the spindle. This tool works with a lot of vehicles, but not all. Thanks for watching. Please comment, like and subscribe !.

This will not work if the wiper arm is stuck on. My tip, add a second nut to the silver removal nut below the black handle (so there are two). Gently tighten them together. When removal tool is in situ, use a spanner on the top nut, and it will then prise the rusted windscreen wiper arm away...with a satisfying (dink) noise when it becomes free. Remove the removal tool, and wiggle the now free wiper blade arm off. Simple (this removal tool should come with a second nut). Hope this helps!

you just saw a stuck on wiper arm in the video... which made the dink noise lol. Admittedly i had one of these years ago and had no joy with it so lobbed it in the metal bin but never thought abouit trying it like this.

Thank you for the tips! I was perplexed as to why it would never come off when I had the nut removed. Once I put the nut back on and kept it just a little loose it came off nicely with the wiper puller tool.

When the arm is well stuck I can assure you these tools are useless, you cant get enough torque on the plastic handle and as you can see in the video the prongs bend and the whole thing goes lop sided. These tools are perfectly good for general use but when push comes to shove you need a steel one with a Allen Bolt

Yeah they're quite flimsy alright. The balljoint separator works well: czcams.com/video/ZbvqnhrPNho/video.html

Tool is next to useless on most stuck wiper arms of this sort, especially in the northeast. I bought one to use on 2 different rear arms on 2016 explorers and it didn't budge them. Cost
$15.99 at Advance auto. I ordered a lisle 54150 battery terminal/ wiper arm tool from rock auto that looks much more promising and costs the same

They're a bit stronger but these are even better for some seized wiper arms: www.halfords.ie/motoring/tools/hand-tools/laser-ball-joint-separator-cup-695494.html

@@screwsnutsandbolts got one. Got the arm off, but the metal ring on the arm stayed on the shaft after the arm came off. That's how corroded they get. So now I have to use the cutting wheel on my Dremel tool to cut a slot in the remaining ring and split it with a screwdriver and get a new arm and blade anyway. Why the f-ck they can't just put some sort of coating on the wiper shaft is beyond me, except for purposely making it so you have to replace everything. The vehicle had only 64k

Yeah it's a rubbish design. I don't know why they tend to make the rear wiper arms with the splines on a separate insert, which has a habit of breaking off !
