    I believe installing the jumper disables security features. This is from a Ford instruction manual:
    VSS Module - Optional Vehicle Security Features
    55. Enable/Disable Vehicle Security Features:
    Locate the security jumper supplied in the kit.
    • Install the jumper to the VSS module if the vehicle security features are to be disabled.
    • Not installing and/or removing the jumper from the VSS module will keep the vehicle security
    features enabled.

    Check the IPC in Forscan for some more remote start settings.

    Installed this kit in My 2019 Ranger and the remote start did not work at first. I had checked the settings in FORScan and they were already set like Jimi's. I remembered that there are items viewed on the instrument cluster that can be changed.
    Insert key and turn 2 clicks to the "On" position. On the left side of the steering wheel, Press "left arrow" then "down arrow" 5 times to "Settings." Press "OK" then click "down arrow" 3 times to "Remote Start." Press "OK" "System" had a check mark clicked. Press down arrow to "Duration" and press "OK." Mine was set to 10 minutes though it was set to 15 minutes when viewing in FORScan like Jimi's video showed. I changed it to 15 minutes to match the FORScan setting and backed out of the "Settings-Configuration."
    Turned off the key, stepped out of the truck and pressed "Lock then Unlock then Lock and it started!
    Not sure how the settings were not Synced but it is now working. Hope this helps someone out.

    Hello, thank you for the video. Very helpful. One question: I just bought my 2019 F150 XL STX with the perimeter alarm only. So I want to add this "plus" version with the shock sensor. I don't own a computer so I don't have access to FORScan. Is that even necessary if I just want the added security and shock capability and don't care about the long distance remote start?
    Thank you

    Great video. If you have your heat / defrost or AC turned on will they come on with the remote start function ? I also have the basic sync system . Thanks !

      @Jimmy2Tech  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello Chesty,
      Yes, my heat or ac will come on with the remote start. What I have noticed though is it seems to not matter what speed you have your blower on, it is on one speed with remote start. Could just be mine but cant imagine why.

    Is it possible to add proximity motion sensor to it?
    thanks.

    • @Jimmy2Tech
      @Jimmy2Tech  Před 2 lety

      I dont see why not, I believe you would just power the light to battery power then loop the motion sensor into that. That way the light can recieve power when the sensor catches motion. I don't know how effective it would be moving, but stationary, if someone walked by it would turn on. But this is just a general idea. I don't believe it would be worth the hassle, especially if it were to drain your battery unintentionally etc.

      You can get the extended license for free on Forscan web site and they show you step by step how to put it in.

    • @Jimmy2Tech
      @Jimmy2Tech  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello Chuck,
      If your truck has the module installed already, you will need to go into Forescan to activate the activity. Your dash might show it but it would need to be activated to work. Easy install.

    Any idea why I didn’t need to do anything on FORScan and the remote started the vehicle? (Just by doing the lock unlock and lock button?)

    • @Jimmy2Tech
      @Jimmy2Tech  Před rokem +1

      Might have been activated already. That's a bonus, not having to mess with Forscan.

      If you're referring to forscan working. I believe the application can work on MAC but you would have to double check. I don't have a Mac to check.

    is it possible to install a security system for a ford police utility?

    • @Jimmy2Tech
      @Jimmy2Tech  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello Mauro,
      I know there is a lot of aftermarket security systems for the Police utility and I am pretty sure Ford makes one they call FORD PERIMETER PLUS VEHICLE SECURITY SYSTEM for it. You can call your Ford dealer and give them your information and they can look it up for you. Hope this helps.
