NIGHTMARE Virgin Select Villa - We had to move! HELP!

Today we're here to show you the problems we've had with a 5 bedroom virgin select villa on our family holiday to Orlando.
We booked a package holiday in store with virgin directly. We requested premium flights and a 5 bedroom select villa which we were assured the select villa was a slightly upgraded villa to their standard selection. We wanted a larger villa with a pool as we brought my parents and our son Alfie and we should have been guaranteed a location within half an hour of Disney/universal. We understood that we couldn't request a specific location and one would be allocated to us just before our holiday begins.
A couple of days before we were due to fly we were our villa location in Davenport which was a little far out but just within the half an hour range from universal. The flight with virgin Atlantic went well on the day, we managed to get the car from Alamo smoothly and were really excited to go straight to the villa once we landed.
HOWEVER, once we arrived at the villa, the location was on an industrial estate and did not feel family friendly at all. Once entering the villa, we had many problems, both with safety and cleanliness.. to the point where we didn't even unpack! We couldn't get hold of virgin that evening, even on the emergency helpline which led us to change our plans the next morning and head to love rentals ourselves to complain about the disgusting villa and ask to move. This went back and forth for 2 days with no avail. We were extremely fed up and at this point found the virgin offices near universal and went in directly ourselves as nobody was helping. We finally managed to move on day 3 and could start enjoying the rest of our holiday. However if we hadn't of driven to the offices ourselves, this problem would probably not have been rectified by virgin. The customer care in America was next to none and I would recommend never booking a standard villa through virgin.

Being an American, I can offer this advice, if the premises is especially dirty, unkempt, has any infestation from bugs, insects etc…. each County in the particular State has a local governmental health department and I would file a complaint with the local health department and see if an officer can come out and do an inspection of the property! They can issue violations and fines if there are health code violations. Hope this can provide some insight and help!

That is absolutely unacceptable! I am shocked Virgin has this in their offers! I hope you got rewarded apart from getting another house! What an awful way to start your holidays! I have heard many horror stories of people renting houses through travel agencies! Better to go directly to Airbnb where you deal with someone on site. I always rent the same house directly from owner in the new Windsor Island which is top noche! Hope you were able to enjoy your holidays despite this!
It was an awful experience feel like we waisted 2 days constantly trying to contact virgin reps over there and weren’t getting any help. Until we found out where the virgin offices were located went in and told them we weren’t leaving till it was sorted. Since we came back we sent email to virgin with all the details of issues and they offered £100 in compensation, rejected that then they came back with £200 as we seemed to have some enjoyment from our stay was their words! 😂
@@TheHarrisonsAdventures incredible! I am from Spain and traveled with virgin once! Only the flight! Never again! My luggage got lost and took 5 days to get to me! Ok luggage can get lost but it was their client service that was not ok! I prefer to pay a little more and fly with BA via London or Lufthansa via Frankfurt. Looking forward to your next video showing the new house you got!
Just watching this disgraceful villa. We have been to florida 6 times and always book a private villa through Vr360 florida villas. They are all privately owned and beautiful and clean. However 1 year we booked last minute with friends and booked a package like you and the villa was disgusting. We had an ants nest in the main bedroom which ate through our clothes! Beds on bricks etc. It was filthy. So maddening when you pay your hard earned money out to these companies. Never again would we book a villa as a package. When we complained it fell on deaf ears. We are going back this year. Private villa and just booked the fly drive only as the package element.
Do you know what the name of the resort/estate is? I can’t find anything like this that matches what is offered on Virgin’s website.
You don’t find out where your staying until the day before you fly. We had booked a virgin select villa, I don’t think that’s an option to book anymore
@@TheHarrisonsAdventures Perhaps it isn’t available anymore. There was 5 locations to choose from if you wanted a villa, when I looked at their website. No option for SELECT.
I think that is the case as when we went back this year we chose a Windsor hills resort which would highly recommend that area if you’re going. The one we had which we had the problems when we booked was the option of a virgin standard villa or virgin select, which when we booked the select villa they told us they’re a better villa with more amenities. Hard to believe 😂

We were thinking of booking one on the Virgin website called ChampionsGate.
@olybeddard3506 I’m not sure how the champions gate area is. Hope it’s nice like Windsor hills as couldn’t fault it was in a great location we would definitely look at booking a private villa next time we go rather than through virgin. Hope you have a great time wherever you decide to stay.
Is this on windosr hills resort. Homebeds are shocking .we turned up after a really long travel day including a connection to find we couldn't get onsite. Even though we had all the key codes. The horrible man on the gate just wouldn't check the spelling on our booking . After another 6 hours during the night sat waiting at a IHOP . My husband and daughter bad with their epilepsy. We were finally aloud in. Got to the villa who was run by homebeds was disgusting. Although in the end we got a full refund for the 1st night and an offer to re clean it. I refused the clean and did it myself .
Although I'm not out of windsor hills . The resort was fab .
No it wasn’t Windsor hills, wish it was Windsor hills as we’ve only heard good things about there. It was in Davenport through like an industrial estate

That sounds awful! we’re going back in may this year and we have booked a Windsor hills villa through virgin hoping it’s going to be a better quality than the select villas they sell them as!
@@TheHarrisonsAdventures we always book through Kenwood travel. They are a fraction of the price of virgin..Saved us over £3000. we are flying with virgin. But the holiday package is through Kenwood. They are definitely worth a look .

The choice of villas from virgin now are not great at all, we were put in southern dunes at the bottom of highway 27 wich is slowly becoming the new i4 in terms of congestion....no matter what time of day its mobbed. We were at best 1 hour 30 mins there and the same back to universal parks.
To be honest I doubt we'll book virgin again. Instead flights with the likes of BA and villas from a company where u choose the exact 1.
We would also look to book everything separate for next time we go. We have been looking at booking through air BnB. Would of thought booking through company as big as virgin the villas would be of a decent standard, we also paid extra for the select villa which we was told is a better quality villa!
@THE HARRISONS ADVENTURES yeah we did this as well, the last villa we got was in providence and was awesome but this time was dreadful.
We are looking at Debbie's Villas for our next 1.
We just feel that if we were to use virgin select again we'd end up in souther dunes or worse Balmoral resort which is further down highway 27.
The villa you guys originally had was shocking to be fair....no way equipped for a 5 bed. Where did they move you to ?
@@RyanMackle it was in Davenport the villa they moved us in too was very nice which I don’t think was a usual villa for virgins use. Think it was legacy park the area we was on
Baffles me why people don’t select their own villa separately!
If only virgin allowed you to do that
You can.. just book a fly drive holiday with virgin. Then book villa separately.
