Absolutely brilliant thank you great video
as always 😎
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it :-)
Brilliant video harvey thanks 🙏
I have watched nearly all your fabia video’s but have yet to see you tackle the Crankshaft Sensor. This would be awesome if you could make a video on this. I’m sure a lot of others would benefit from this also 😎👍🏻
great idea, I will do this, sorry it is not out yet, but it is on my list :-)
Thank you. Looking forward in the future to see you changing the cambelt and waterpump :-)
Glad you liked it, no worries, just need to save some pennies to do it as it is overdue :-)
I'll second that 👍 awesome content and very well detailed...possibly the best in-depth videos on CZcams for anyone with a Skoda fabia MK1 or similar.
Thank you, helped alot today
I'm pleased I could help you out a bit with the video :-)
Thak you for share your knowledge with us !!!
My pleasure :-)
Nice video thanks…
Very nice video
Thanks, hope it helped :-)
Cam sensor was causing my 2008 1.9 tdi touran 365000km to shut down while driving and crank but no start. Mechanic found the issue and changed it for me. I was thinking it was the fuel filter clogged. Who would know it's the cam sensor. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for sharing:-)
Nice 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
Great video! Do you know if it will be similar on the MK2?
If you have the same engine it will be similar.
Love if you could do a introductory video to vcds.
Thanks, I'll look doing something with this, but not everyone has this so I want to keep things repairable by limited means as much as possible :-)
Is this the same engine as the 1.9tdi VRS? Can I ask what ratchet set you are using? Awesome videos..
There are some differences, but essentially the same in many respects. The G40 sensor is the same :-)
Mulțumesc
cu multa placere :-)
Could you tell me if that is the right level to have your coolant as shown in your video as my car has recently come back from a service and my coolant has been topped up and now sits at the max line when the car is cold?
No worries, as long as it is between the marks when cold it is within tolerance. They often do that thinking the max is best (like brake fluid) but it is not the same. Some people often neglect checking coolant and filling to the max gives an older system a bit of extra coolant in case the system slowly leaks. When coolant gets hot any excess will naturally blow out of the vent or in extreme cases blow a cap off if the vent is blocked, but I doubt it at that level and would only happen if the engine had a serious overheating problem. If it is at the lower lever when cold, but not below there will be the least risk of hot coolant venting out, potentially causing a fire, if it damages wiring. I would lower the level and check regularly : 1:39 czcams.com/video/-tiZEpuTjcw/video.html. :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey thank you very much for the detailed reply.
When I seen the coolant was topped up max I did wonder if it was within tollerance as I remember from a previous video of yours you do mention the level should normal sit between the Min and max.
Prior to taking in for a service I've never seen it below the min when cold... Ill remove some tomorrow and keep an eye on the level over next couple weeks or so... Thank you :)
Do you have a video on changing the aux belt harvey?
Mot yet, but will have to do that one soon, thanks :-)
Decent
I have an issue on a Skoda fabia 1.4tdi 2008 it struggles to start when it's warm yet there's no engine management light or fault codes as I took it to my local garage today 😔
Could be a number of things, check camshaft sensor, vacuum leaks, fuel pump, carbon deposits in egr/intake, throttle body and all the basics like oil, air filter battery/alt charge, fuses etc. until the problem fails completely you may have difficulty finding the culprit unless you can test it when it is faulty.
Will you be doing a cam belt change?
Yes I will be doing this in the near future, thanks :-)
triple like :)
I have a 98 skoda fabia 1.4 16v. I recently replaced my head gasket and wanted to know how to check or confirm that my timing is correct.
which engine code? Belt?
@@HatBoyHarvey no engine code came up. It's not the
It's the rubber belt type
There are 2 belts for these and the only way to check if the belts were aligned correctly were to take of the lower cover align the lower sprocket to the mark on the block and then check the marks on the 2 cam sprockets, all should line up. it depends who changed the belts and whether they did it correctly, if in doubt check it need to be checked or a new one fitted. my guess is you engine isn't running right which may be due to another issue than timing. the sparkplugs, coilpack or MAP sensor?
@@HatBoyHarvey Thank you this definitely helps. God bless.
My car 2007 fabia 1.4 tdi my sensor values pin 1 : 12 pin 2 : 4.9 pin 3 : no signal, is this normal?
Feed wire 12v and signal wire 5v and ground wire. You can test the sensor by passing a metal object over it and the signal wire should change to O.
Hello just noticed your cam belt tensioner isn’t between the marks at 4:31
Thanks, will look into that :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey Surprised this engine was happy to run.
My car used to judder when cranking and for atleast 5 seconds then would start up. Ive changed the sensor now it just cranks for 5 seconds but no juddering. I noticed my tensioner in this same position. Any help?
Hey, i replaced the sensor to no help, still no signal fault in Vcds. Pin 3 doesnt show any voltage, however the resistance is around 0.8 ohm all the way to ECU so it is good. I gave all connectors good clean. Any ideas what to do next?
You can obviously rule out the sensor now. I would backspin all wiresl at the ECU and take measurements.
@@HatBoyHarvey thank you for answer. I will add new ground wire and see for results.
