0:22 Step 1 - Remove the glued speaker cover
0:47 Step 2 - Open and unplug the speaker
1:06 Step 3 - Loosen these screws
1:18 Step 4 - Unplug the power cord connected to the PCB
1:24 Step 5 - Lift up the PCB
1:40 Step 6 - Remove the original battery
1:52 Step 8 - Apply sticker and install the Cameron Sino battery
2:14 Step 9 - Plug the power cord and install the PCB
2:53 Step 10 - Plug the power cords and install the speaker
3:17 Step 11 - Install the speaker cover

After getting a new Clip 4 I gave my old Clip 3 to a friend.Th battery was worn out so power had to be connected to work.The Clip 3 has a 1/8" jack unlike newer Clips.
After watching this I'm getting that ole Clip 3 back so I can replace the battery

Misleading. The battery is NOT that easy to remove from the actual case. It is sealed down tight. This video makes it SEEM like that tool will easily remove it from the backing. Absolutely not. Be VERY careful trying this
How is the bass
Hey Cameron! Great video. You helped me get the clip 3 apart. But... Maybe you can help me further. Mine turns on but won't play music. It will play the power on sound but you only hear it for a brief second and then no more sound. It does connect to Bluetooth and powers on perfectly fine but no sound except half of the power on sound. Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks!

Have you tried the 3.5 jack plug connector (right next to the USB connector)? This may help with troubleshooting.

I found a JBL Clip 3 but Its missing the Micro USB Charging port and it won't charge. I want to know if there is a 4 wire LIPO Battery charger so that i can just charge the battery externally and put it back in the Clip already charged?? . I would Solder a new charging port but its under this black rubber thing so i can't remove it

So what are you supposed to do when the screws strip because they're tightened so hard, that they can't be undone with some mini screwdriver?
buy a new clip 3 .. lol
better answer drill out the one that stripped; hopefully they all don't I see what you mean; the screws are really packed in hard
@Blacksugar: Try to loosen the screws with a solvent spray (for electronics) beforehand.
My JBL clip 2 intermittently cuts out if more than 5 feet away. Works if right next to the phone. Maybe after 5 years it's just time for a new one.

Yes once you try to do maintenance yourself you will lose your warranty. With JBL you have one free yr of manufacture warranty.
I need help! When I'm done charging with my JBL clip 3, it still shines red. Then I repeated charging it again and again and other solution just in case it might help for this problem but the red light still kept on permanent. I came to check it everyday if the red light had disappeared but it's still going on.
Please help me what am I gonna do to fix it?
hard reset. by pressing the power button in exactly 23 seconds not 22 and not even 24 seconds, red light indicator will turn off and by that you can now turn it on. voila!

3:19 the cover/grill fall off easily? im afraid to cant put it back
The grill cover is just held in by a bit of hot glue. It pulls off hard the first time, I used a flay screwdriver and carefully pried my grill off till it pops out. Mine snapped back in, and stays.
@@TheMacGeek I just put a small dab of silicone (RTV) in the slots and popped it back on.. it will hold until the next time I remove it so I can remove the metal filings from the speaker. I'm a welder and metal grinding bits stick to the speaker and cause it to not sound great..

I don't think they sell those mesh covers I lost mine too, but I already bought a clip 4 for cheap, what should u do its buy a silicone cover it on Amazon it should help with the appearance

So Basically the battery only last 5 months tops because this is my second one I thought I broke the first charging port somehow and bought a seeding one and it did the same within the same time frame jbl is ripping of people I purchased one 4 years ago that I had no problem with until my daughter dropped it in the water while we was on vacation so I had to upgrade that cheap lasted me 2 1/2 years no problem for $15 this cost me $50 each

Your ipod shuffle 2nd gen battery sucked and didnt fit, what a terrible company. lol
JBL are A-Holes for not designing a speaker with an easy to replace battery. The battery is the one thing that needs regular replacing as it loses 25% of it's charge power every year.

I had to open mine too and found that it doesn’t look the same in terms pf motherboard… prob mine its the one not legit 🤷🏽♂️
