- This video explains the easy process of battery replacement on a JBL Clip 3 portable Bluetooth speaker.
Once the original battery does not charge as well anymore, it may make sense to replace the battery in case the speaker is otherwise still in a good condition.

All we need for the repair is a small Phillips screwdriver and a prying tool.

Where can I possibly fine a jbl clip ring? I find the clip ring always breaks easy with this model. I didnt know it can be taken off until now
correction: the board is held by 4 phillips screws
I'm not sure if my clip 3 is newer or older, but after removing the grill, there were 6 screws around the outside, and 3 on the motherboard. Other than that, the process was exactly the same.
the BATT connector shows 4 wires. (left to right) red, yellow, white, black. The replacement I bought is only 2 connector wires, red/black. Also, it doesn't seem to fit anyway. Unsure what to do other than return the battery or find, if even possible, an adapter.
Where I can buy the JBL clip 3 top cover??
I don’t believe those are sold separately.
You might be able to find a defective speaker for cheap on eBay and use that cover.

So I think the JBL product is OK, but I am ditching the waterproof part because I want "plug and play" re the battery; I will not "play watch maker" with 15 watch screws. Also you didn't walk through "regluing" the battery. Also; I wonder if I have too much ampere on the charge; as this bat. toasted @ about 4 months use 8 hrs per day.

My JBL Clip 3 is now 3 years old, and I have decided to repair it for good.
The battery have swollen and cannot charge properly.
It would be better if I can replace it more than 1000mAh. Thanks
@@freshbakedclips4659 please open your speaker, and find out what the battery structure is, then buy the same size of the cell, you can change it with bigger capacity cell if enough space

Incomplete video. I expected you would show how to remove the battery in actuality. Not a real DIY.
You just pull it out like any other battery aside from the glue, just pry it out a little bit. Seemed pretty clear to me although he didn't show that part.
