I love your honesty, no one ever learns simple shortcuts and variations if they see perfection all the time.
What a great comment! Thanks!
I love the way he said "there are some things that I'm not happy with" with a big ass grin on his face.
Keep it up!
Haha i just noticed that lol😂😂
@@rookie__pilotplease don't ever change dude.
@@simtalkayak thank you, you are very kind! 🤘🏼❤️
Loving the transparent "learn as we go" style, I'm slowly picking up some metal working stuff so I can get to work on my grandpa's 70 C20, and body/sheet metal is gonna be a big part of the project. thanks for taking us along!
C20! That sounds like a fun project, thanks for your support!
really excited for you on this project - great to see the good stuff and bad stuff, so we can ride along with your journey through thick and thin - thanks for sharing this Angel FC
Thank you, definitely want you guys to see my mishaps aswell!
I’m loving everything about this project, and feeling encouraged to try more fabrication myself. The learning is the point 😎
The fact that these video’s encourage people to try something or continue to work on their builds makes them every bit worth it!
just wanted to share a quick story - i've been sharing your work with my dad and he has been enthusiastically supportive of your mantra and vibe. He didn't know I was supporting the channel until last weekend, but I wouldn't be surprised if you had a new subscriber based on our last convo. In his mind, guys like you are the good ones out there, and we are behind you 100%. Thanks for being yourself. It really comes through in your work, and we are here for it! 🤩
Wow that is so awesome to hear, glad your dad likes the channel!! Thank you for your support 🤘🏼🤘🏼
First we try and HOPE it's perfect, it never is. But being able to fix our mistakes is the best skill to have.
Very well said!
I'm glad you're showing bad welds and mistakes, I just started taking welding classes and I know I'm gonna be making tons of mistakes.
That’s awesome! Yea welding is a coin toss for me lol
Really enjoying the Scrapstang build. Keep it up Angel!! 🎉
Thank you!
You have the vision for what you want and you execute it great.
Thanks Mark!
@@rookie__pilot You're welcome
You have patience of a saint.
Lol! Im always a pinch away from losing it 😂
It warms my heart to see young guys show some passion for these old cars. I want to save old cars like some people want to save dogs and cats....but I came to the conclusion I can't save them all.
You and me both! I think i am a rust magnet! Every old car on or off the road seems to catch my eye!
Awesome seeing the mistakes as we all do it, plus it's annoying when you finshed something and then have to pall it all apart again to put something you forgot to do lol but it's going well and the help from other's with tool's 👍🏽
Yes thank you!
All hail angel food cake and the scrapstang 👍
🫡🫡😂
You got the welding magnets! Hopefully they're helping a little bit. Everything looks great, way better than my welds haha!
They definitely helped with this part! Lol thanks!!
Angel, Sarah’s friend. Wow, cool. I often wondered what your gig was, and lo and behold, mustangs are in the mix. 👍
Hello welcome! ✌🏼
@@rookie__pilot Thank you, happy to be a subscriber. I forgot to like, do that now. Declan, Ireland. 👍
Perfecting your skills, one weld at a time!!
Excited to see the new shirts! I can't wait to order one..
Right! I will send you a draft when its ready so you can check them out! 😎
@@rookie__pilot awesome... can't wait!
Cool video, it's really great to see how much work goes into this. It's fun, while being edumicational....
Thanks! Great to know these small details dont bore the viewers 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Progress is still progress, no matter how big or small.
Yes!
I love the plasma cutter/cutting disc!
Good way to cut on those laser-precision guude lines! 😊
I have the same high-tech tools on my builds. Shrug measurements and lots of welding to full in the gaps.
Were one in the same 😂
Great stuff and I see why you had to start your own channel! Not sure what Sarah would make of that firewall!
Taking the flaws and making em features! 2 enthusiastic thumbs up, Angel!
Nice progression
Thank you!
Excellent 🙌 thanks for the daily dose of tac😅 thank goodness you didn't scratch the paint this time😂💯💞
😂
I think it looks fine. Some light grinding flat black paint. Scrap Stang motif.

So honest Angel. Love your channel.
Will we see a finished Scrapstang?
Absolutely!
Angel looks good. Once you wire wheel it prime and paint it it'll look great
You are right! Thanks Kirk!
@@rookie__pilot anytime angel always glad to help a brother. Man I wish I lived close by I'd see if I can help you, anyway I live too far away.
I think the reason you were having such a tough time with the welds on the lower part of your patch panel is that you had the lead (the part between the welder and gun) bent too much causing the weld wire to bind in the lead liner. With a MIG welder you want to have the lead as straight as possible so the weld wire can run through the lead liner as smoothly as possible. Try it again with the lead coming in from under the car rather than over the fender. Good luck! Keep up the good work!!
Very detailed explanation thank you!
good job!
Thank you!!
That looked like a pain getting those pieces just so. But they fit in perfectly so alls well that ends well. That is gonna be quite the scrap stang when it’s done.
Yes, it was not all that fun but it worked!!
You should try the cut and butt method for patch panels. Screw the patch on with a couple of self drilling screws overlapping the hole then cut and weld. Look at Bad Chad, Make it Custom and Half Ass Kustoms to learn how to do this.
A little grinding and body filler and it'll be right as rain!😉👍

I don't weld, but I'm curious what welder you are using.
An Eastwood Mig 135!
@@rookie__pilot
Like I said, I don't weld, but is this flux core or gas? If it's gas, I'm thinking it needs more electrons and more gas flow. The welds look a bit dirty and cold.
I'm saying this as a non welder, so take advice this for what you paid for it.
I love watching welding stuff so I'm talking from observation, not experience. I'd love to have a welder like that so I could cut and tack things together like an exhaust system.......
....then take it somewhere to have a good welder do the actual welding.
You're young enough to learn this stuff through trial and error....... I'm approaching 67, so being a good welder isn't in my future.
That said, I'm like you..... I do everything myself and every day that goes by, I learn something and that improves my skill level.
Pattern making for those sheet metal parts would be a great area to research and improve upon.
...no, I don't do sheet metal work either 😁
I have however installed flooring for almost 50 years and patterning rooms was taught to me early on.
I'm sure that the methods and materials required for patterning sheet metal pieces is almost the same as flooring.......
....obviously a bit different with bowed or contoured metal.
Keep doing what you're doing. I'm enjoying your project.
When it's completed, you will have learned a lot and each successive project will get better and better.
Search out patterning sheet metal for cars and see what pops up.
.........heck, I might as well do that too.
Great stuff.
Totally ignore any negative comments from insecure know-it-alls. They aren't worth replying to.
ps, i do free artwork
Good to know thanks!!
