My favorite part of his drumming is just how he makes it all look so smooth, and that he is genuinely loving what he's doing. To me, that's the biggest thing about watching any drummer. If they don't look like they're having fun, I'm not going to have fun watching them. But in Matt's case (and you as well, Gabe!), it's obvious that he's thoroughly enjoying himself when he's behind the kit.

I got hooked on Matt's drumming when I saw the 30 Seconds to Mars - The Kill video.

I gotta say, the creativity of Matt is insane. Whenever I look at people like Matt who can take a top 10 spotify song, and rip the drums on top of it while making sure the song would stay in top 10. Well first of all I die a little inside, but secondly I'm just glad we have drummers like him, who can take it to the next level but stay in the pocket.

My Favorite Drummers are Mike Portnoy Baard Kolstadt and Gavin Harrison (Can you guess what Genre I am into?) Anyways out of all of them, I think you focusing on Baard would be my favorite. They are all amazing but Baard feels like he is breaking new grounds right now, whereas the rest of them have been around for a while and their styles are well understood, analyzed and have been broken down by many others as well.
