Yeah every time they do a cross gen game, that means their basically developing everything in ps4 specs and just doing a remaster type graphic upgrade for the ps5 version
I discovered monster hunter on the PSP. Also played SOCOM fire team bravo. Me and my friends actually got together and ad-hocked (LAN party lol. I loved the VITA but unfortunately it felt like it was abandoned before it even came out.
Steam Deck does everything it would do and much more eg emulate games, run pc software etc. sony is waay too late to the party with this one. This should've been the focus instead of VR. Now they're playing catch-up with the steam deck, switch, rog ally, legion go, msi claw. Mind boggling they let the vita and psp ecosystems die, and didn't replace them.
I mean, the likelyhood id buy a portable device is very low to non-existent cuz 1. It'll probably be expensive and I'm broke af, but also cuz if I wanna game on the go, I just use Remote Play, and I've had little to no issues gaming via Remote Play. I feel like the majority of people that'd buy a psp-like device are people that either don't have access to remote play, or those that don't have WiFi speeds needed to get a decent remote play experience
As someone who works on my feet all day then goes to the gym, I love nothing more than playing my portal laying on my bed. It was absolutely perfect for my lifestyle. I'll welcome the new psp too but the portal does just fine for many of us
I still got my PS Vita with the biggest memory card in there. Got Final Fantasy 1-10 on there and a gang of other games on the go too. Shame Sony didn’t give their portable systems a lot of love but I loved them both. 🥰
It’s about being in the door with a portable device since every companies are making one. It’s better for Sony to release one themselves than being late to the game. The only problem is that that’s going to force developers to develop for 2 different sku.. that’s going to hold the home console back. Or I just thought right now that they can release let’s say wolverine on the ps5 like usual and then later on a month or two later, release a “PlayStation portable 2 verified” version like the steam deck
If this is real this new handheld needs to be able to do the following: 1). Support PS4 games at least 1080p 120fps (1440p 60fps). 2). will allow you to install, NOT STREAM, games that you already own via your PSN account onto this device.
Lol, you need to have reasonable expectations. If a hand held PC like the steam deck can’t do 1080p 120 fps, then Sony’s is definitely not going to meet those expectations. If you always have expectations that high, you will always be disappointed.
@@RpgAddict325 The thing is aside from the 1440p 60fps which I will freely admit is probably wishful thinking on my part, everything I listed is what the base model of the ROG Ally is capable of. Basically I'm just hoping Sonys new handheld is a slightly better version of something that's already been out for a few years already. Maybe it can be done maybe not, but it's definitely possible.
Listen I’m really excited I was the psp kid I wasn’t the ds kid untill the 3ds xl came out but even then i stood rocking my psps me and my psp have been through life for years
I hope and pray it looks like the Playstation portable. Oh man that would be so cool. Cut that dual sense controller and stick it on that handheld console. I would but two of them. That form factor is so important. Look different from the rest.
Steam deck didn't usher in this resurgence of handhelds, Switch did. It's massive success showed that people really love handhelds. Hopefully Sony comes out with another handheld! It's a great time to be a gamer!
The Portal as is sucks. I bought one and tried it out, returned it. I have the best internet and router that money can buy, and while I was playing the portal in my own house there was always stuttering and pixelization. My ps5 was hardwired into the router, the delay shouldn't have been happening. Also, since there is no internet browser on it, you can't log in to any public wifi. So it's not even good enough to play at home, and you can't play it away from home. Trash product.

The Portal is useful if you are sharing your TV at home that's it, wish sony would have made a psvita 2 or better, I had to buy a steam deck to play away from home

Do you even have a PS Portal bro??????? The Ps Portal is the one device I use most for gaming every single day. Not my Vita, not my PS2, PS3, PS4, not my Switch nor Steam Deck. Not on my 4K OLED tv, nope, the PS Portal, in bed, for 2h most per day. Already destroyed 13 games from my backlog this year and having a blast. The PS Portal after the update has been 100% consistent and flawless. I for one do NOT want a subpar portable. I would rather have an iteration of the Portal, with an OLED screen and wifi6/7. Slap that with interchangeable covers and I would be golden. GameCross dude is obviously living on parent's basement with no kids nor responsibilities...

My phone can stream and remote play better than the portal any day. Vita was incredible. Portal was a test to see if people wanted a portable Playstation. The answer is yes. Microsoft has been waiting and wanting to do a handheld for many years, but it hasn't come to fruition. I would love to natively be able to download and play Playstation games on the go. Psp and vita were great. Portal is overpriced trash.

They should make it powerful enough to handle some ps5 games (even if it's 720p) so it can run ps4 games at 60 fps.

4k portal oled 2 next than Sony's. All features included too. Around ps6 launch title's to & playstation handheld studio's expansion too.
