Fun fact: the Sugar Bowl jersey belonged to a player named Chris Rock (no relation 😂😂). He ended up transferring out, and went to Ohio State of all places 🙄. Don’t think he saw much game action in Columbus, so maybe he would’ve been better off staying?

The only positive about the adidas jersey was in 2015, Harbaugh’s first season, the maize was actually maize and not a highlighter yellow.
Other than that, they were ass and we should never contemplate using them again.

The all-white uniforms Harbaugh implemented in 2015 are awesome. A school like Michigan doesn’t need to be flashy. Small changes like the blue pants are great; nothing over-the-top, and blends in seamlessly.
In adidas’s defense though - if Michigan had stuck with them, think they’ve would’ve eventually done away with the weird alternate uniforms. The last few years they’ve been more conservative with their CFB designs. Even their new uniform template is much more ‘tame’

Fits like a giant rubber band? Oof! That sounds incredibly uncomfortable!

This was a Rich Rod thing trying to add his flavor to the program by changing up uniform style....
But like the product on the scoreboard....
The uniforms were an epic fail....
Rich Rod never understood the hazards of messing with Michigan tradition. The bad uniforms only accentuated his bad teams.
I hated all the striped jerseys. Especially the one with the old style block M. I see what they were going for but it didn't resonate with me.
But the thing I hated the most was the number on the helmet. So glad when Harbaugh got rid of them.

Great analysis! Usually coaches have to wait a few seasons before changing up their uniform; for RichRod the timing worked out perfect since UM didn’t renew with Nike following the 2007 season. It’s likely the early adidas designs were all set, which is why the designs got wackier as time went on.
A lot of fans were also very unhappy with the ‘highlighter yellow’ from that era (as I’m sure you’re aware). None of this was helped by the fact that Dave Brandon wanted to plaster that Block M friggin’ EVERYWHERE 🙄
But hey, a decade later and we got ourselves a Natty 😁. I’m confident Sherrone keeps the program running smoothly, but only time will tell.

Had to go back to Nike or Jordan band, notice they went back to winning. Adidas is a 2nd place brand in North America sports.

Tbh initially it felt weird seeing the Jumpman logo on a football uniform, but after a Big Ten 3-peat and National Title, it’s worked out pretty well 😁

Some of my favorite players are from this time. Otherwise 🤮 hate adidas. GO BLUE!!
