- Serena is of course one of the most beloved characters in the entire Pokémon Anime and made her return in Journeys recently. Well that got me thinking about what thinks would have been like if she were here from the very start. So in today's What If I'll be looking at just that! Serena being born and raised in Kanto and how that inevitably leads her to becoming a Pokémon Master!

I find this very interesting. When I played through X as the male character, I always like how Serena got a fierce look when you battle her. :)
Serena engaging the Pikachu seems like a rather interesting idea. None of Ash’s friends had ever owned one aside from Goh, so I’m curious to see how it would play out.

What a great concept for Serena having Bulbasaur as a starter, it fits her, besides, it sometimes feels like Serena is the anime's version of Leaf
My scenario for her is she was one of the trainers that started out around the same time as Ash & Gary but we won’t see her until XYZ . Half her team is from Kanto and the other half are from Kalos

If only as a reference to she not wanting to engage in rhyhorn races BUT still having a sof spot for that
and as a contrast to giving such a rough looking like pokémon to a trainer usually more associated with softer more elegant things
i would give her rhyperior a "knight in shining armor" like personality
@@ianr.navahuber2195 and make be Ash’s main rival in Kalos from the beginning before they bring in Alain and Sawyer . He never had a female rival and this was the best time to do this .
And Ash would’ve face her in the semi finals instead of Sawyer.
I love that Gary & Serena took over some of Misty and Brock's mannerisms with Ash, while still being their own unique characters, even from their original anime counterparts

This video was essentially, what if Serena was raised in Kanto. And was more Tomboyish. 10/10.

Serena is by far one of the best companions in the Pokemon anime. Along with Misty, May, Dawn, Iris, Lana, Mallow, Lillie & Chloe, As you all know, Her Braixen has now fully evolved into Delphox which I'm very surprised & shocked 😲. Serena has journeyed with Ash, Clemont & Bonnie in the beginning & end of the XY anime to the current appearance in the Journey's anime, Our girl Serena has came a long way & she did with her Pokemon, Her determination & willing to never give up like Ash.
Best companion is brock

I honestly think it would be a good idea for her to catch the female Pikachu. HOWEVER, I think it would be epic and give Serena more of her own thing if her Pikachu evolved into a Raichu later on. Both to give Raichu more love, and to make Serena a little more unique rather than just keeping her Pikachu unevolved.
Having a strong confident female lead like this in the anime would be really cool. I find this a lot better than the original

I don't think she would run away from the female pikachu. She would engage with it for the experience. She might be initially interested in catching it but it got away. Ash and Serene would try to chase it eventually catch up to it but another pikachu came out and tried to defend the female pikachu. After noticing how close the two wild pikachus, Serena would feel bad in separating them and decided not to catch it and instead gave them poke puffs.
This makes me feel like I’m watching X and Y all over again! Thank you for providing such nostalgia for this 33 year old fan 😊
This is a very interesting what if pokemon adventure story, and it got even better at the near end of the video being a choose your own path . Serena is one of my favorite characters from the x and y anime and seeing her trying to be a pokemon master is amazing.I cant wait to see what'll happen next in the second part.

I feel that Serena wants to catch the pikachu but its runaway from her. She tries to go catch but gets lost, and ashes pikachu runaway with a special pikachu. Both serena and ash start to look for pikachu but serena is distracted with finding her own pikachu to catch. Later they find pikachu with the special pikachu eating some berries. Serena is able to form a bond with the special pikachu and catches it. What makes this pikachu so special is that it tail has a black heart on it, which is quite rare.
I think she should catch the female Pikachu. Be a cute little extension of their growing relationship
I love this video I would love for Serena to perform with Bulbasaur in a showcase or a contest and I would love that she get to spend more time with Ash because she was with him at the beginning. I enjoyed the episode when she returned to Journeys and I like that Serena is more confident in this story too and I love that she calmed Ash and Gary down. Also I'm on board with Serena having a female Pikachu she should evolve her into a Raichu and perform with her in the showcase.
Personally, I think this would be a good team for her:
Venusaur, Nidoqueen, Ninetales, Raichu, Wigglytuff and Gyarados

Here is another idea. What if Sarena's mom was in Hoen, went into labor, gave birth to Sarena in May's house, then dies, then May's parents have to raise Sarena.
I thought of this because May and Sarena are similar in many ways. Just wanted to know what would happen if Sarena was raised with May.

I always enjoy theses what if videos you do.
I don’t feel like Serena should catch a female Pikachu. Maybe it’s not a popular opinion, but I feel like her entire character was build around Ash and her crush on him. I know in XY she had her own story, character development etc. but all in all lots of it revolves around Ash. Heck, she even started her journey because of him. And while I can see why people find it cute or endearing, I think she should be more independent. Giving her a Pikachu would feel like another way of making her closer to Ash.
Finally someone gets it. Before the show hastily wrote in a plot for her, she only existed as ash’s side piece. It’s not like they could have made her character more exciting or original but that she was there for the romance sub plot from day one. It didn’t help that they were doing a romance plot for the wrong person, ash is 10 and therefore cannot really comprehend a serious romantic relationship. It would feel more natural for an older character like Brock or alain for instance, to have a romantic side plot. It’s also worth noting how kalos was modeled after Paris (the city of love) so they had to have romance there somewhere. I honestly would have liked korrina to have been ash’s female friend for kalos as ash had a hand in helping korrina mega evolve with her lucario ( I think they also had a good rivalry) and it could have easily introduced the audience into the concept of mega evolution as well as ash’s place in it. (Mega charizard or septile would have been awesome to see)

I’m super interested in seeing what would happen if she engaged and even caught the Pikachu.Maybe her having one with ash could benefit both of them training-wise.
I think we should have her catch it, eventually have it become a Raichu. Instead of Ash using the Thunder stone, because we know he ain't gonna use it, Serena hangs onto it and will eventually use it.

I think something that would work out is:
Serena send out Bulbasaur then tackles the Pikachu,but then the little Pikachu starts crying,Serena apologizes to it,take it and starts running to the Pokémon Center leaving Ash behind...
Then I don't know😅but in short I want her to catch Pikachu😉

This was a good what if Serena seams to be a Moral Support to Ash here were she helps him get to becomes a better trainer earlier on in his journey and would more Constructive criticising Ash when he makes a Mistake than Misty did and his first Capture being Mankey instead of Caterpie and hopefully he will have a better time with it instead of the Rage filled Primeape he has in the Show and she may help Ash and Gary get friendlier to each other and Have Serena Catch that Female Pikachu as it would be a good counter part to Ash’s and they could help Ash and Serena get Closer to Each other as-well.
So in this Story Serena is kind of like Goh when it comes to Pokemon. Cool. Give Serena the Pikachu.
Too bad Serena doesn’t have a Dark-type to evolve her Pancham into Pangoro. I get that’ll give her two Dark-types, but she really needs one to get a Pangoro.

Since this is anime, they could do an episode where Pancham hangs out with a dark type and evolves from learning how to fight like a dark type.

So considering how close Serena and her family are to Ash, and her added dynamic to the rivalry, has she had any early influences on Ash? Like being a source of Ash being a bit more knowledgeable about pokemon? It doesn't really make sense for it to be a one sided influence if they are good friends.

Video idea: what if ash had a Gardevoir? I say Gardevoir and not gallade because I invasion a funny moment where ash try’s to get a gallade but turns out that he can’t because the Pokémon is a female not a male so he can’t get a gallade.

Who else noticed that they forgot to make Serena wear the Ribbon Ash gave her in her return: Pokemon Journeys Episode 105? It is like they made Serena only care for it in Kalos.
I think Serena goes for the Pikachu. It will give her a cute parallel to Ash. And I think as a cool twist, Serena's Pikachu should have an opposite opinion on evolution than Ash's. Just like Iris's Axew, have it be that Serena's Pikachu actively WANTS to evolve.

I'm intrigued with this What If?, I say Serena interacts with the Pikachu in Viridian Forrest & catches it. I would also say Serena's evolves to Raichu, i'm curious how others characters will be affected with this story. I feel this would further the develop Ash & Serena's relationship in new ways.

It was a huge missed opportunity to me that Serena never had a Rhyhorn-Rhydon-Rhyperior on her core team. She borrows a couple in the anime but never just "has" one. I wish we'd let the female protags have less "cute" or "girly" pokemon and that would have been a PERFECT example of a 6 foot opportunity that the anime, in its way, just totally missed.

I think it's correct that Serena never got a Rhyhorn. While Serena eventually does make her peace with them, with her being thrown hundreds, even thousands of times in her childhood, there's too much bad blood between her and Rhyhorn for her to find them an attractive catch. It's like a person choosing a dog for a pet when his entire childhood is being constantly bitten by dogs - even if he grows out of it one way or another and dogs don't attack him now, it's hard to see him choosing one for a pet.
If the Pikachu is a Cosplay Pikachu with no costume currently, than definitely yes, as it would be great in the future,
