I don't think most people going for compotent story telling with what if scenarios based in Pokemon are limitting themselves to writing from the perspective of the later generations not existing or at least being known of so I see absolutely nothing wrong with, like the leagues or big contests of other regions would likely be televised in a consistent setting. Oh also I am in agreement that non kantonian mons showing up in kanto is more realistic than Kanto just somehow being locked from the outside or something. I do think you may have depended on your wheel or chance a bit too much in this first part, though its still a fun idea. Maybe a better premise would be what if Ash's journey was through some of the more competitive/difficulty based ROM hacks like Radical Red. That one is just Fire Red but its updated with mons up to Hisui, has all the types, physical/special split etc, and each route is stuffed with mons that aren't kanto native. Just a thought, hope you keep it up. Oh and protip, don't try to record your lines in one-take.
i agree with the notion that ash's knowledge of pokemon was unacceptable. It also made no sense, Ash was a fan of the pokemon league and later material really retcons his interaction with pokemon early on. As a fan of the league alone he should have known how battles and type match ups work. It sucks cause it feels like the writers made him carry the idiot ball around as an easy way to get out exposition to the audience
Yeah I agree completely. He dosent need to be a pro, but with a professor who likes him in town and a huge fan it really is un-acceptable. We have two more parts our, and the 4th one will come out soon! So theirs plenty for you to check out.
@@smdbzxproductions9868 if this Ash goes into another región he can keep the ones he caugth from the first región And use them in case of Team Rocket or against Legendary Pokémon in self-defense and use the new ones for the leagues in Johto or another región.
I see the "Roll the wheel and catch the pokemon" thing using game mechanics, and I'm forced to point out that the anime has /always/ used legends arceus mechanics. If the pokemon is aware of the ball coming and not interested in being caught, they just smack the ball away without even giving it the chance to catch them. These mechanics of "just slap the ball away" have been consistent all the way up into Journies, it's just taken decades for the games to catch up.
Really enjoyed this. I would definitely address the whereabouts of important side characters even if it’s just a note. I would also recommend updating the Kanto region just to make it more interesting and develop the Pokémon further. And only thing on a improvement note would just be be a little bit louder as the audio could be hard to hear at times

But Its fairly safe to say that if you dont even know how to get into the Leauge you've been watching your whole life, dont understand basic-typing, and dont know a pokemon species that lives within view of your house, you can be considered incompetent.
